I dig plugin reviews. You do great walkthroughs and explain things clearly. Suggestions: Vadim Taranov/Vtar Amps plugins (lotsa freebies there), Ugritone KVLT Drums II or maybe some TrveCab packs of there's. They sound great! Mercuriall Euphoria. We need more people's opinions on that one. Audiority Solidus series, those are some uncommon amps they emulate. Cheers!
How about the audio assault sigma vs ahm 5050 vs hellbeast in a shoot out for what's 'best' for rhythm, leads, clean tones and what IR would work with each sim?
I've let my son know about this as I am more a jazzer and classic rocker and he is djent (known to most as Chimpspanner). Will have to let him outta his cage to try this plugin which I bought a few nights ago; have played my guitar more in the past three days than I have the past 6 months!!! Love it ;-)
Whenever it comes to the EVH 5150 amps, i always see people using the blue channel more than the red channel, and for good reason. You get more of the tonal qualities of whatever tubes your amp has, and it's one of the reasons why i wanted an EVH 5150 one day; you can use the blue channel for rhythm tones, and then use the red channel for leads, which i've always thought was really cool.
Got the AHM and the RVXX. Both are great, but I lean a bit more to the RVXX. I got that one during a flash sale for $7 and it's as good as any plugin that I've heard. Audio Assult has been killing it with quality plugins at a very affordable price.
@Hämmingus Yes can't agree more. Also one more question, say i buy a cab IR which on is recommended because I know AA sells quite of them but unsure if I need a can IR rack too in order to use them. Ive heard good things about sea cow cabs
Just like the real amps, that damn EL34 has the magic. Sounds great! The ML Roots can give you basically the same crunch/lead tones as this, AA has come a long way and this one is fantastic! Awesome vid man 🤘
This sounds great. I just picked up the V2 Sigma and it sounds massive. Paired with the Duality for bass and I am blown away by how good they sound, regardless of price.
I remember when Audio Assault came out they were decent but not my favorite but that was a few years ago. Nice to see that they stuck with it and have seemed to improve quite a bit. I may have to pick this one up.
I have the Grind Machine II, the Sigma, Emissary II, RVXX, STL Tones Putney, Neural Gojira...just writing this down because I need to remind myself I don’t need another plugin...but damn.
How do you feel it compares to the real deal? Upcoming video for Kyle? The 6L6 vs EL34 aspect would be really cool to demo with both amps vs the plugin. You guys are both making some great content 🤘
AA put an update out for this that adds an IR movement feature. So you can take any IR and move the mic around and it will approximate the new position. This is also in their Hellbeast v2 and Klank bass sim. It's a really cool idea and perhaps fills a need for people who like to tweak mics and want more from their static IR collection.
Nah I've played the real amp a lot and own both this and Gojira. This legit has the tonal characteristics that the actual amp has. It's got the sound. Gojira isn't bad but it just sounds like the Joe Duplantier sound is baked into the plugin even when trying to use 3rd party IRs.
Whoa! Taylor I really think you're song used for the demo at the end is badass and sounds great! I've not heard of this plug-in company, but I'm definitely interested in this 5050 model. Curious if they gave you a discount code for your viewers.

It makes me absolutely crazy when you go for what would be an open Drop A with the 7 string but then play the D chord under it, as if you were playing a drop D 6 string.

A 7 string for an amp that was designed by the master of 6 strings? Very bad demonstration. Sounds like crap! Not because of the emulation, but because of the guy doing it. Comparing apples to oranges
I think he did ok but I feel you about 7 strings. Anytime I’m watching a demo vid and the dude pulls out a 7 or 8 string a automatically loose some interest. I use 2 primary tunings one of which is Drop B but still…
