Wellbutrin Update 2 | When honeymoon phase on bupropion is over 

I’m so happy I came across your videos. I am currently on Wellbutrin xl 150 mg and am currently in the honeymoon phase. It sucks to know that it doesn’t last, and I wish it was something me provider would’ve mentioned when prescribing me this. Thank you for putting this information and your experience out there. I know now to expect that this phase won’t last, so I’m not blindsided when I start to feel low or not in euphoria anymore.

Honestly, I didnt really experience any euphoria. I had three weeks of intense irritability and and intense emotions. I downloaded an app DAYLIO to track my mood. And its been very helpful to look back on my mood as I was starting this medication. Im one week away from being on Wellbutrin consistently for two months. I think the first month was just my body adjusting mentally and physically. But so far I think its been worth it. My thinking is much more clear now. Getting out of bed is so easy. It use to take me three hours to get my day going. Now Im up by 5am or 6am . I dont feel super happy and I dont feel super sad. I just feel normal. Which makes me now realize how depressed I really was . I now have the desire to shop for new clothes, put makeup on, make plans for the future and just organize and clear out my life of all the bad that depression had brought into my life. And for my weight ,I noticed a 5lb weight gain but I truly believe this is from me starting to lift heavily again. Ive packed on muscle mass and have abs. So this is two months in and with hypnotherapy once a week , three weeks out of the month. I am very excited for the next months to come.

Just finished the honeymoon phase after 1 week and am going through the depressive drop of realizing that's not how I'm going to feel forever. Thanks for the videos, they've really tempered my expectations but still made me hopeful for the future with this medication.

I had a similar experience with Adderall. The first few weeks felt sublime, but eventually that became baseline and I thought it wasn't anymore. Apparently that's just normal.

I had euphoria after a couple days and it lasted about a weekend (started on Friday and lasted pretty much until the Monday). I felt amazing, but part of me was concerned that it was borderline manic. Fortunately, I had been on an antidepressant before and had some reactions to it that were somewhat similar so I kept that in mind. I was actually kind of happy that it passed. I'm just past month 1 and, though the euphoria feeling faded, the biggest difference that came with that feeling was a much better ability to perform tasks. I was so unmotivated before that doing any little thing required anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours of negotiating with myself and I didn't always win. With the medication, I feel like I decide to do something and then just do it instead of hemming and hawwing indefinitely. I was listening to another video on the medication and it sounds like improved executive function is a common benefit of Bupropion so I think that's what's been helping. I had also been using a CBT diary app (which I honestly should go back to tbh). Before the meds, days were mostly bad with the occasional OK days. Post medication, I'd say most days are OK with occasional good days. So overall, it's improved my mood as well. Though I wish I could have a couple of those OMG AMAZING days from the euphoric/manic effect.

Welbutrin makes me cranky as hell when I start it. It is STILL a welcome change to the feeling I had before going on it every time.

Side note your skin is absolutely perfect

The first week of taking it and it made me very emotional. Im working on week two.I'm on Wellbutrin HCL XL.

No honeymoon phase. Hmpf. Missed euforia. First time I took I just slept since was calmer in my head. First week only positive effect was calmer head and less constant over eating. Effects of sugar changed. Constant desire to eat was lower. Nothing difference to mood.

Never felt that euphoria.. First 6weeks 150mg Than op dose 300mg sinds last 2weeks.. Now 8 weeks in and not notice very much

for me it helps when you make breaks.. one or two days off..then the next days are like the honeymoon

I felt great after 2 weeks of taking Wellbutrin's bupropion -- very confident and very little intrusive thoughts. But then in week 3, I developed a sore throat from my mouth being dry from the medicine, in addition to the air conditioner being on. Ive never gotten sore throat from the air conditioner before. Also started feeling empty and hollow inside, and at times manic. This is my first time taking any antidepressant and I'm afraid I'm doing more harm than good to my brain. I am a woman of faith, and so Im going to consult with my doc and get off this medication. Will go back to focusing on excersise, cultivating a healthy diet and just putting my full trust in Jesus.

Made me super angry. Realized thiamine supplementation may treat my issue. Taking thiamine, huperzine and schizandra.

I’m so sorry to here that. I’m also on welbutrin n Prozac. I’m on 450mg of welbutrin and 40mg of Prozac. In the beginning my mood was staring to get better but now it feels like it’s not working. It kinda feels like I’m goin backwards. This sucks cuz we have the holidays coming up n I don’t want to be down n depressed. Thank you for the review. You explained everything so good.

I had euphoria only days 2-4 and then days 5 and 6, I felt the most intense, irrational rage I’ve ever felt. Hoping it will balance out.

I don't get this. But I take Wellbutrin for ADHD and came from taking Adderall for 15 years. I'm at 450 mg and it doesn't work as it did at first. I noticed that I could skip days when I was on 100 mg SR Wellbutrin twice a day with Adderall that I could skip days and not lose it. Wellbutrin makes me patient unlike the other ADHD meds but it doesn't do as much in other areas as Adderall or Ritalin did. Caffeine is weird with Wellbutrin too.

If this is what you go through why keep taking it . I just started taking it now I'm thinking why bother.

Day 11 and i never had the euphoria, and no real side effects i do not want to eat as much which is why im on it for weight loss

I am also on 300 e. Release. What I experience is i was talktative to woman and even flirt them somehow. I sat next to a beautiful girl, but not becouse of her. Becouse i like the windows side. And i ask her and even talk to her. Kinda weird 4 me

No meds is gonna get you out of the depression,I’ve come to the conclusion that the clue is theurapeutical dose plus yourself meaning therapy or analyse yourself and think what really is the root of the problem

What I’m wondering about is why my doctor couldn’t get me Wellbutrin but instead prescribed bupropion because I distinctly remember that when my insurance switched me to bupropion from Wellbutrin, I no longer felt the benefits from the meds. Now after quitting bupropion for a couple years, I decided to talk to my doctor about an anti anxiety medication for me and was again prescribed bupropion instead of Wellbutrin so I’m quite disappointed about that.

I experience the euphoria now 2 weeks - and if feels a bit to much ,i have become wayyyyy to productive and hyped up,to the point where I can’t sleep

citalopram 40mg was similar for me. It lasted a few years then doom and gloom again when the dosage was reduced to 30mg.

I was taking Adderall for 10 years for my ADD, and overall it worked great....however I just recently came off to worsening side effects---horrible social anxiety, sweating, and irritability. Adderall was feeling way too intense and too much like speed or meth (I've never done meth; it just felt too much like a drug and harsh on my body) and it felt like my body was vibrating internally a lot, etc. Other side effects included feeling artificially awake all the time and a lot of irritability. It was getting pretty rough on my body.... My doc suggested trying Wellbutrin. I also have depression and anxiety in addition to focus issues. I am worried Wellbutrin will feel all too similar and cause all similar side effects? Will Wellbutrin feel speedy like Adderall, or does it really feel completely different?

Maybe your Doctor started your Dose to High. Maybe 150mg at start for awhile and then see how you were feeling? Your Beautiful and strong! Don't give up.

Have you been tested for adhd? Maybe adding that medicine can help motivation. Im exploring this too.

I started it for three weeks and felt great mentally, but I had so much gas, was constipated, my eyes were dried out and I wear contacts, and it says you can't take Cipro, which is the only thing that is effective for my UTIs. I also seemed to not see things that were right in front of me, well twice it happened. Did you have negative physical effects? If so, did they go away?

I'm 69 but thinking life is great. Honeymoon with wellburin love it. The main thing is you better. Other options dagga

I haven’t felt the euphoria, I actually feel worse. I have a headache constantly and have horrible dry mouth.

i suggest you to ask your doctor to take stimulants: like: Adderal, vyvance. its effecte stays more than bupropion. but unfortunately it's very hard to get this medication in Egypt. it's very expensive and you can't find it now even if you have it's price. but i read that the Amantadine gives effect something like stimultants. but in long term. i know it can't be like stimulants exactly but it is some close to stimulants the only thing i can take.. and i wish Allah help me to get better. i think psychotherapy is more effective than anything. islam can fix all the live prespectives. i wish Allah guide all of you to the right straight way.

Im suicidal have c ptsd and bpd anxiety anger etc. I have this at home I took one yesterday and woke up crying today. I don’t want medication I just want to feel like me again or die

i was taking wellbutrin. 300. and it's effect was very weak. then my doctor decreased the dose to 150. and added: memantine20, amantadine200, and armodafinile150. and desvenlafaxine 200. i wish it work better. note: desvenlafaxine my doctor replaced it instead of zoloft 200 i was taking and it's effect also became very weak. also replaced risperidone with the brexpiprazole. i wish Allah make this change work well.

Have you noticed any weight gain or changes with wellbutrin?

If you got euphoria every time, it would be called a drug, not a medicine.

Why can’t they just legalize marijuana here in Texas😫 I’m so sick of being a Guinea pig.. marijuana helps me with depression sleep anxiety helps me eat. I hate these drugs with side effects

So there are more thing to try.First try to add stimulating antidepresants to Wellbutrin like Prozac or Effexor.I take Lexapro 10mg and Wellbtruin 150SR and i didnt fell no europhia.
