Bringing up internships,…she was just hitting the keys words that she hears. She latched on to seth’s comment too quick “that’s what I say” when he said “cultural institutions”. The thing about many internships and mentorships is that they mainly exist to extort free labor. They should be paid at least as an entry level position, depending on the skills required.
Not to even mention that it's FAR more competitive that anyone her age has dealt with and that often times there's barely any entry level no experience internships. You need experience to get experience and the only way to get that is ????? It's a vicious cycle, but apparently it's not hard and we have nothing to grieve about. Oh, often they put out these internships just so they can say they pooled applicants, but they already have someone in mind.
I would def take a class from Wendy Williams in broadcast media/ journalism. The experience, the resume, the knowledge and the secrets she probably has..

Well… when you put hate out in the world, especially to the extent she has, it’s going to come back to bite you… I don’t know what you expected? She’s certainly dug her own hole and she seems to feel pretty comfortable with that reality.

Wow, I had no idea that getting an internship was similar to having an Instagram account. All this time I thought I needed a resume, cover letter, have references, compete with 100s even 1000s of others and the only way to get experience is to have experience. /S Goodness, I really would like to see many 50 somethings try and get an internship now with no prior experience...

She can do it of course but I work in academia and I know that it will take at least 10 years for her to go up for full professor. BA>MA>PhD (or terminal degree)>assistant professor>associate professor (tenure)>full professor 😓

Honorary PhDs are given when someone gives a speech at convocation or graduation. It doesn't give them the qualifications to teach. There are exceptions for acting classes at some places; I believe McConaughey does
I went to Northeastern. They would/will be very upset that she didn't refer to her internships as co-ops. Northeastern is a 5 year program, with entire semesters devoted to co-op. It's a much better higher education model than you will find at other universities. That said, I never graduated.
