Ever since the video was posted i been riding around everyday perfectly fine without no worries or problems I do appreciate you for watching thank you!!
Human trafficking, drug deals, ongoing domestic violence with multiple altercations? Nah, don't worry about that- we gotta chase bicycle man, he putters too much!
Right...it's a lot going on, and they wanna pick on a guy that's trying to survive the right way.. im not stilling anything I'm not robbing people I only work hard for what I earn at the end of the day I don't have time to be a criminal, but they try to make me one smh...thanks for watching!!
I don't know if you watch my channel at all and such. But yeah each state has different laws. Thise cops clearly where just aholes in your case. I have a few suggestions though! Print out a copy of the state laws on motorized bicycle! Like you said for your state obey all bicycle laws since in your state same as mine ( clearly says engine assisted bicycle) but your bike needs wheel reflectors and red back and front clear reflectors as law states for bicycles on the road. Buy some reflective spoke covers. Cheap and are noticed very easily. If you use red rear and white wheel spoke covers it covers the whole law! Another thing you may want to consider. Since you run door dash. Get moped insurance. Covers a 2 wheel bike with an engine on it. If they ask the make use pk50 since your state is 50cc or under. If you need a vin use number on your bicycles pedal crank. 99% have. Seriously like 50$ to 75$ for whole year! Most even cover free towing up to 50 miles lol seriously! But not required but has tons perks like if you hit a car or something and its your fault you would be screwed if you using it as a business transportation. Insurance will make you covered and all it legal. One other thing >_< I bet those mirrors move at times 😁👍 put a drop of gorilla glue on the balls with 2 bolt u bracket things off! Fully dry. The stay great and give brackets nice surface to gip as you adjust them ! Glad you came out with good results man! Keep on rolling stay safe people drive crazy these days!
I appreciate the great information there's even a couple things I'm going to try at my local DMV I'm subscribed to your channel I appreciate you for watching my videos and I definitely appreciate the tips you're everything everyone needs when it comes to great advice shout out to all my motorized bicycle riders out there stay safe
Whatever your state code is that classifies motorized bicycles as a bicycle and not a motorized vehicle you need to memorize at or write it down, that's what I did. Besides the years I've been doing it I've never been pulled over because it's not illegal and secondly they would have no clue what to give me a ticket for. That cop you've dealt with was making up stuff as he went along, butt hurt he didn't have one.
@@catsbyondrepair Motorized bicycles in my state have their own separate classification separate from mopeds. Motorized bicycles are not classified as Motor vehicles in Tennessee.
I have an electric bike and I have one leg and I would like to make it into motorized and Electric. I've seen a lot of these and I'm wondering if they're legal in New York?
@@LetArtsLive Unfortunately electric bikes are heavily legislated compared to motorized bicycles. They're real strict on the power outage & wattage. Fortunately we don't live in New York but it seems you can get away with it by registering their motorized bicycles as a Class C moped with a top speed of 20mph or under. You do not need an inspection to register your a Class C moped in New York.
I'm happy that you got this sorted out. I asked the lady at the DMV here in Collier County how to register my gas bicycle, she had no clue and had to ask her supervisor who eventually found the information for me, she thanked me because they had very little knowlege about the actual details ect. Thank You and keep on cruising.
Hey bro, some of those cops are like that sadly, any position that let's people have power usually attracts at least as many psychos as actual good guys, they really tried to extort you though. As a white dude, I remember back in 6th grade, a cop showin up at my door while I was home sick, flipping out, yellin and making me get in the back of cruiser to drop me off at school in front of everyone because I missed too many days, all because I was makin myself sick stressin about my parents divorce going on at the time. Everybody thought I was some badass when I came out of that cop car at lunch, so it didn't work out in his favor, but that cop yelled at me like crazy and I was skinny little 12 year old. That's when I started realizing how twisted the system is, how they make money out of sticking us in these poorly run babysitting rackets they call public schools (and just about turn us into ticking timebombs with how they mismanage things) and it's a racket from the products you buy, to the law, to the government. Bike looks great btw, keep it up
That's a sweet looking bike. I just traded my friend to get my 80cc GT Timberline back. Sheriff's dept. Gave me shit on main roads, and I've got lots of sweet pedal bikes for around town, so now it's just gonna be a toy for around the neighborhood. Driveway burnouts, speed runs down the block, etc. Thanks for sticking up for us!
My friend my respect to how you stood up for the motorized bike community it is good to know your laws and police officers need to be updated on the laws
AJ Motorsport I'm here for everyone before and after any experience I stand strong for all of us out here just living life the way we want to while obeying the law. keep on riding I will because (I'm free) 💯
@@yomontOME facts ma brother I hope the law applys everywhere generally speaking this is my new channel Aj motorsports my old channel is the same aj motorsports I unfortunately forgot my password to my account on my phone then I lost my phone so I made a new account and new email ama be doing custom motorized bike builds soon I already got a motorized bike frame with gas tank build in the frame
@@yomontOME am just missing few things like the front fork that comes with suspension/ the wheels front and back + tires the motor I do have one but is missing a lot of parts 😅 like piston/ piston rings cylinder head & gaskets carburetor magneto throttle brake lines brake pads clutch pads basically a complete tuneup 🧑🔧 to get her going
That's a total rebuild my friend you might as well get a brand new engine and the other motor will be for spare parts you already have and will indeed save you some money 💰💰💰💰.. I also have some spare parts I wouldn't mind sending you
@@yomontOME I will appreciate that just for now that will help and work 💯 💯 💪 when I have the money to get a new motor I'm definitely buying one and more for more projects to come
theres no better joy than riding around on the bike you built and made the way you want it to be and these small kits make it so possible i love riding mine around i cant wait to build a couple of them and have options every ride lol
What kind of motor are you running? and I agree with you. I love having multiple bikes for certain days to ride for sure 💯 I sold about six I should have kept one but times got hard I needed the cash.. thanks for watching!!
@@yomontOME to be honest im not sure what brand the motor came from i grabbed it cheap off amazon a couple years back blew up my back wheel on my test launch then sat on the project for a year or so, got it running last summer finally then got my brother into them and helped him build his.
Common sense you said it best, brother. 👏 happy you got a win for the team!! That is great 👍 👌 news 👏 😀 👍. Bikes looking mint Old Sport! Keep the hustle 💪 💯 up and burn some miles on that girl!
Glad it all worked out brother , keep on keepen on . Bike looks good. They some times make it hard for a guy just trying to get along in life the honest and right way. May the gentle breeze of God carry you on your travels.😂
I’m only 17 and I build and ride these motorized bikes more than my 1986 Volvo 240 wagon, I like the kits and even buy the pocket bike motors with clutches and put them on bikes too. Configuring your own motorized 2 wheeled machine is the best way to go keep basic tools on you and you can ride anywhere in the city no worries, what the law often times gets wrong is that these are in fact mopeds, a motor and pedals there’s nothing illegal about riding them and I think the officer who pulled his taser in you was high on something I’m not even joking. Anyway I really enjoy these videos there awesome!
Honestly these would basically solve the same problems ebikes do. Even if they use gas, they still use it more efficiently than a car. These basically are just better for longer distances. The laws on ebikes, but even more so mopeds and motorized bicycles (which are mopeds) are often quite silly here in north America.
Sound like you have a Wrongful Arrest Lawsuit brother! I would highly recommend you contact an Attorney IMMEDIATELY! If they arrested you that’s wrongful arrest, big Lawsuit! Good Money! Sue the Fuck out of them!!!
It can be costly some of us are seriously hustling and can't even fathom paying a lawyer. Wish I knew all that info. I did try seemed like I needed either 50k or 50k in credit, I had neither.
Congrats my friend! I'm happy it worked out for you! But, just a few thoughts... #1)It is ILLEGAL for the cop to have detained you for the amount of time that he did before he arrested you... #2)If the cop had to have you educate him on if your bike was a bicycle or motorcycle, that means he didn't know what the LAW was. As we have ALL heard, there is no excuse for being ignorant of the LAW and this includes the LAW itself. I mean honestly, if the cop had to ASK you what you was riding in order to decide if you were breaking any "laws", I'm pretty sure he wasn't going to take your word for either way. Which leads to this... #3) Your FREEDOMS, CONSTITUTIONAL and CIVIL rights were in FACT violated my friend. The judge KNOWS this and all that is going to happen to the cop and the lawlessness of his actions is a slap on the hand, maybe written up but more than likely scolded for his unbecoming of an officer attitude, which is also ILLEGAL by threatening you with arrest and harm. #4)The LAW is SUPPOSED to be SERVING you by protecting your RIGHTS that are guaranteed under the United States Constitution. ALL your rights have been violated my friend. You were ILLEGALLY kidnapped, had your FREEDOM of movement taken away all because the cop didn't know the LAW! The cop should have been charged with making TERRORISTIC threats, which is also ILLEGAL! That is a FEDERAL charge, a FELONY!!! I have respect for the LAW! Cops MUST also have respect for the LAW as well! LAWS are made to PROTECT EVERYONES RIGHTS! If that is not the case, then the "law" is LAWLESS and you have no Constitution but rather TYRANNY instead. If it was me, I would be getting a Civil Rights lawyer because now the odds of you winning are in your favor. But if your happy with how things turned out for you, that is great! But I can almost assure you that this cop will do the same thing to someone else. The cop didn't care if he ruined your rights and freedoms. You shouldn't care about him losing his ability of not ever doing this to someone else. Its your call. Not ALL cops are bad but us as a society really do need to get rid of those that chipping away at our FREEDOMS. Just my humble opinion......
I own a motorized bicycle. In the USA the legal statutes vary from state to state. Therefore, one should look up the legal statutes for motorized bicycles/mopeds/scooter/limited speed motorcycle. Some states allow self-built bikes that meet certain guidelines on their public roadways. While other states don't allow any motorized self-built vehicle on their public roadways. My state Tennessee statutes is 55-8-101(35). If you don't know your state's legal statutes then you don't know what the law is.
not sure where you are at but here in michigan there classified as a moped as long as its 50cc or under . you can get them legal here if you have it set up with lights and a horn not sure about turn signal's cause used to be motorcycles dint need turn signals just a back running light and brake light and a head light in the front . you would use hand signals to turn . so that may still be the case . but yeah any motorized pedal bike is legally a moped . here in michigan . other states may be different . personally i think the law comes down on them to hard . ride safe brother
Aresting you is over the top wtf!, I've had a few run-ins myself back in the day, a lot of states they can give you a citation for unregistered vehicle which is usually about a $100 or so. I've also heard of people registering them as mopeds.
I've been trying to get her registered and it's very hard but I would not give up it's a lot of paperwork but I'm pretty much sure it can be done anything is possible 💯
Yes I understand you brother if you don't mind I'm a fellow motorized bike rider Noemi I'm courtesy clerk biker for food City I mean don't stop and police officers hang out there and they know mine and all is well I hear what you're saying to man
An honest guy that's working while ride his bike what type of human would arrest this guy, that's not hurting anyone.where is the humanity with the cops out there the worst thing they should have done to you was to tell you to shut the motor and pedal away
Thank god the officer spent 90 minutes of his taxpayer funded shift to harass someone for bicycling while black. The world is such a safer place thanks to him. Not.
amen brother. i really hope the judge took one look and laughed and said cased dismissed. no further action required from either party. a lot of cops are pigs and dont actually care about safety. always treat the good cops with as much respect as you can cuz they hard to find. i am very fortunate to live in a community where the police have there focus on the right place. im a firm beleiver that the majority of big cities police dept spend too much time, money, and resources on traffic enforcement. its the people who are being reckless that need the ticket not a person psuhing the limits. take care, ride safe, and keep dashing for your paycheck. i used to dash a little but dont anymore. its cool but just fun. wasnt really profitable for me
Hey Partner. You just keep on. I have 4 Custom motorized bikes by theme. My friends call my "Mirada" the Monster. Does 58mph +. Won't do it again. NOT fun past 40mph. Love riding them. Try some saddlebags for your work. Hard shell only. The floppy ones will get caught up in your spokes. I have bags from Harley and generic. Harley bags are for "sportster". Cost was 135.00. The generic were 25.00 per side. Anyway, The COP that pulled you over was not only profiling you, but he was in the wrong by sooooo much.. Punitive damages are due to you. I live in California, San Francisco/Fremont area. Cops here DON'T bother us here unless you are riding with NO lights and/or NO Helmet. Please read and "Thoroughly" study your states vehicle code. Most states follow what California adopts all of the time. I found the "Loop Hole" between Mopeds, Motorcycles, and what the, "COPS/DMV", are Still trying to figure out because they are losing revenue per year due to more & more people are starting to use these vehicles whether it be Electric or Gas. I'm going to share with you what I discovered. So here you go......#1> Cal. CVC States that our bicycles CANNOT be considered MOPEDS and/or MOTORCYCLES due to the following factors or they will be subject to driver licensing, registration, plates, and insurance. #2> Cal. CVC: 406.a> A motorized bicycle consists of a standard bicycle with peddles, of course, which has an assisted engine for propulsion . This engine size CANNOT be more than 150cc. Maximum speed CANNOT exceed 25mph.. #3> Here's the loop hole...... Your Motorized bicycle CANNOT have an AUTOMATIC transmission or you are subject to Moped and Motorcycle laws. As you may know, Most all of our bikes are driven with a MAUAL CLUTCH !! HA HA.... There ya go! Whenever pulled over by cops please remember and state, "This NOT a MOPED", "This is a bicycle with a motor assist". Big Symantec issue. If you state wrong, That son of a gun is going to NAIL ya. In Cal., our CVC code is 406a. Depending on what state you're in may differ but you have a pretty darn good chance of beating the charges in court from stating these facts in front of NON-educated D.A. , COPS, and Your Honor in a courtroom agenda. these folks are strictly prowling for QUOTA, REVENUE, and such and counting on you being PASSIVE....Best of luck to you and KEEP ON RIDE!!!.....PHIL(DOC)🤪
That's good news 👍 I notice a lot of videos here on RU-vid with dudes splitting lanes and rolling thru intersections. I think we gonna lose this privilege if we dont follow the rules of the road. Stay safe!
So, im glad this video exists. I am truly sorry what happened to you, and im glad that you were able to get your bike back. However. From the few years of law that i studied, here is what i know. In most states in the US, it is all about intent. The original intent of that "vehicle" is a pedal powered bicycle. (What it was originally designed for.) For some states that is enough. For other states, it needs to retain the original function of the bicycle to continue to be declared a bicycle. The original function are the pedals that power the bicycle. If you were to remove the pedals, then an officer might be able to actually make the claim that it is a "homemade motorcycle" and force you to register it. It shouldnt be an arrestable offence though. With all that being said, I myself have a motorized bicycle. Predator 212 engine with no pedals at all. I called the DMV headquarters in my state and talked to 3 or 4 people until somebody was finally able to give me an answer. These bikes ARE legal and do NOT need to be registered.
Here in Florida they are legal but you have to have them inspected for correct equipment like engine size (no bigger than 50cc), lights, horn, mirrors ect. and registered, just like any Moped with pedals. A valid drivers license and insurance is also required, but no title. You do have to have reciepts for the bicycle and engine kit to prove it's value or that it's not stolen.
I live in Ohio and got pulled over on my bike coming home from work. The deputy that stopped me was a little confused and very curious he said he had never seen a motorized bicycle before. I kept my cool and explained to him what it was of course he could clearly see it once I had stopped. Turns out that he didn't see my pedals at first and thought I was riding an unregistered street bike or a dirt bike. He was very professional about it so was the assisting deputy we talked for about half an hour they ran my driver's license info and just asked me to check with the local bmv. Turns out in Ohio you do have to register your bike and have insurance so I took care of that the same week. Believe me when you work as hard as I did for your bike the fear of losing it is a horrible feeling I hope that you don't have any more trouble I feel for you very happy everything worked out God bless you stay safe and ride strong. Thank you for posting your story.
Also Ohio. My son has 2 that he has license plates. I live in the country and ride without plates. Never been hassled. Only see the sheriff department every 4-5 years out my way. My shooting range would be a bigger problem.
I'm sorry you had to go through that I really did learn that these officers do not keep up with the laws they just have badges with no idea how to correctly use them... It's a shame how they supposed to protect and serve when they just ride around all day looking for someone to put in the system destroying their lives when they already have no money to pay. Some officers need to be retarded about the laws I say some officers because there's a lot of good officers out there and the ones that are good are not the ones that waste time for dumb paperwork..
@@yomontOME yeah, totally agree. Police officers are supposed to enforce laws and protect our constitutional rights. They even take an oath before starting their careers. Yet most of them don't even know the laws or the rights the constitution gives us. That's like being a cook and not knowing how to make a hamburger! That cook would be fired on the spot. How can they keep a job without knowledge of what the job is? Thanks for the great video! I'm glad it all went well for you. Thanks for sharing this.
It is the same here in Florida but my son law got a ticket for not having a license which you don't need a license or plate to ride a motorized bicycle but he pled no contest never go to court people with out an attorney you will lose 9 out of ten times know your rights people and the law i carry a copy with me at all times but i have only been pull over once but was let go
@@yomontOME it does. One of my good buddies sold his bike because the city cops of Chatsworth Georgia has threatened him the next time he sees them on that bike the cop is going to lock him up. There's a quite a few motor bike cycle riders here.
Sorry you had to deal with that nonsense! I been there with a male Karen, on a little Jetson no less. I now carry two printed copies of the laws. I live in the boonies and haven't had problems with the police (we only have 3) They usually wave and I wave back. I do ghost peddle when I see them 🚲💥💨💨💨
-:_×+÷*'!.... Those motorized bikes are the best for saving the planet. The least carbon footprint to manufacture them and, the best milage per energy density value.
Im shocked they arrested you, even if they thought the bike was not legal usually it would be a ticket issued but to arrest someone for that seems exessive. That cop has issues and needs to get his mind right before putting the badge back on.
May I ask you what town or city you live. Different states have different laws some time. But Even some they should have never hand cuff you. If worst right you a traffic ticket. That wrong the way the cop treated you. Most Cops are fair for the most part. But there is always That few that give them a bad name. I,m always very polite to them it helps. Good to hear It worked out OK.😄
I love your video but all the state laws are different and I hope in my state that it worked out for me as well as it did for you but I avoid the cops when I see him and I always start paddling and I wish you’d take a link of that chain and readjust your arch tensioner I think you would like it better, peace
Devious Dave sure stay tuned for my next video please don't forget to like and share... I would definitely show you how to put your chain on and tensioner😎💯
Yeah I just built a bike and it look like in Florida it is actually considered a moped or motorcycle or something but idgaf that's a problem for another day 😭
No, you good bro that pipe is in its stock condition. It’s not a super high performance paving that’s more for torque the increasing RPM, which does increase horsepower dramatically that one just really makes it run like it supposed to run most these bikes even with that type pipe on it don’t surpass 2 hp. The head itself doesn’t increase compression because it’s not the right shape it just cools better and directs gas better. 14.5mm carb round up 15mm carb all the hp bs isn’t really Hp it does it’s own performance the same but is better wuality doesn’t really increase power it’s been tested on the whatchamacallit dyno the pipe brings power up tho. It is over 50cc but is unregulated bc it’s under 2hp
From Colombia. Forget the bike. Do your lady know you are ruining the carpet?. Men ! That’s a Persian carpet dude. Now I really angry ,bro. By the way, yesterday I Downpay my phatmoto all terrain to travel from Florida to Centroamérica. Wish me luck.
About the carpet tho it was already damaged and not usable in the house it was definitely ruined and prepared to go in the trash the next week after the video posted... I definitely appreciate you for watching my video/videos don't forget to like and subscribe 🙂
You are absolutely right that they are restricted in some cases depending on where you are i recommended not riding these motorized bicycles near any highway at all for commonsense reasons and safety... I spoke to the judge here in South Carolina and she told me she doesn't know why the officer is calling my bicycle a motorcycle when it has pedals on it....she also say that all bikes has to follow the rules of traffic laws...she also stated that police ne more training on the law with these motorized bicycles because they are not motorcycles unless they has no pedals then they will be considered motorcycles...I been riding in Augusta GA streets and the cops don't mess with me but they do take pictures and I treat them with respect as I Doordash around locally...depending on how you ride breaking laws and not caring is when the heat is on you...being smart and being safe equals no trouble to find you..
In my state if you're doing 30 miles an hour you are good it's street legal but if you exceed more than 45 mph or if not 65 or 70 miles an hour it's considered a moped Class A B and C if you have a class A your legal if you have a class B or C you are not legal that's in my state I have a class C and it's because of the 12 tooth sprocket and 32 Sprocket in the back and I only have 13 horses in my bike it's not that much but it will touch speeds it depends on the state you win
I was knocked out reason why I hit a car at 45 miles an hour I flew into the front grill of another car it depends on the sprocket if y'all don't want to get pulled over use a 44 tooth sprocket these bikes aren't no joke if you know what you're doing
@716NENA I'm glad you're here to tell your story you seem like an amazing person that has a story to tell I would definitely listen I appreciate you for watching my videos I love the 44 sprocket but I use a 35 sprocket for traveling doordash on my particular frame her name is Lucille and we just love to travel and make money while making sure everyone in need is happy 💯
Do I gotta be the one to say it? Fuck it, no disrespect or prejudice implied, but, it's cus your black bro. Dude, I'm in California where we have THE most strict engine/Emissions standards and laws in the country... If not the world. And I'm on a phantom 85 with the 85cc sticker on the side of the clutch cover ( Cali has a strict 50cc limit on motorized bikes and mopeds , any bigger and you need to register and smog it as a motorcycle and get it inspected for emissions compliance which a 2 stroke is illegal as soon as it hits 59.01cc's ). I took the pedals and crank/sprockets off the front and put a piece of rebar with BMX pegs on it . I have a fat expansion chamber on it with no muffler/silencer (HELLUVA LOUD🤘😎🤘😂🤣💀). Dude, one of my Bros who is into the moto-bike scene ( he's Haitian and proud of it, rockin some dope ass dreds and has his bike painted the Haitian flags colors to boot 🤘😜🤘) ,he's got a huasheng 49cc 4 stroke kit , stock quiet muffler, turn signals/4 ways with a wireless controller and a inertia brake light with a high/low beam combo headlight and a car style horn , wide crank pedal adapter kit plus since we both ride street bikes to we both have an M1 motorcycle license too( I got no lights on my bike either fyi). Anyway we were cruising single file in the bike lane goin downtown to meet up with some more friends of ours and I'm riding in the back he's right in front of me (my 2-stroke bike is so loud it's better he be in front so I don't make him go deaf plus I can read his turn signals and brake light which makes it less chaotic while cruising together). No joke a highway patrol officer almost runs me into the curb with no siren just his emergency lights pulls him over and tried telling me to move along as interfering with a police investigation is a crime . I parked like 15 feet away and heard him try to say his bike was to loud ( at which point I fired up my bike and revved the fuck outta it so he couldn't hear shit🖕🤪🖕, said it needs to go through DOT inspection to be deemed road legal COUGHCOUGHBULLSHITCOUGH, doesn't have a C. A. R. B approved sticker on the motor (California air resources board , anything 50.00cc or less is exempt, 2 or 4 stroke) and even after countering with practical and critical reasoning and CA law references and trying to be polite and apologizing for the rash and harsh initial response to being stopped he STILL impounded his bike , gave him a ticket for operating a gross polluting and unsafe motor vehicle without proper registration and insurance and left him on the side of the road after calling for backup and having 4 CA highway patrol cars sitting on a 35mph city street waiting and watching him till the tow truck got his bike and left. Meanwhile my ass is sitting here 15 feet away with my arms up like what about me! Straight up ignored my blonde haired blue eyed ass and my hella fukin illegal ass bike ... I didn't think that shit was really that bad, kinda thought it was a little exaggerated.... I was dead fuckin wrong! Cost him like 4-5 hundred dollars all said and done with impound and court cost. I learned something during all that situation, our government is still backwards and fuktarded AF Bro.... Real talk.
Tom I do know that everyone in many different areas no matter what color you are or who you are goes through the same thing as everyone is in the same boat with law enforcement 💯
Depending on certain States laws and speeds but if you do not go over 25 mph and you have pedals no you do not need a driver's license always be aware of your surroundings and drive safe 💯😎
