Watching these guys talk about the ancient past from stuff they heard from smarter people is hilarious - they get the general gist but misremember and exaggerate so much. It kind of is an insight into how ancient legends were born.
There was a humanoid race on earth 1.4 billion years ago that was recently discovered sort of. My grandmother used to tell me that her ancestors were told this by Odin 5k years ago, not exactly when just that there were. I think this Odin dude was real, but probably an alien.
I was shocked when I heard the average height of females was 5'1 because I'm 5'1 and I am part Scandinavian, but like you said, they could have been tall, so who knows for sure.
5'1 might have been very tall at some point. A 5'9 woman was a giant of a woman in 1905, but today her height would only be considered a bit tall. And that's a lot more recent than Vikings .
There making jokes but 5'6 to 5'8 was average height .less in ierland and France..so some one even 6 '2 closer today's average height would of been a giant ..plusses oh they were giants of men is a great way to try to save face after being completely shit stomped by ur enemies...
