We are so lucky to keep getting such amazing Lilah/Wesley videos from you. I've watched it so many times. This is so beautiful, so dense with meaning. I love you beginning this with the 'end times' - the only time the two of them could be together, with the world turned upside down, but always with an expiry date looming (whether from her death or not). And that smooth examination of the two of them signing their souls away, figuratively vs literally, how that relationship becomes a relationship - despite themselves. Despite their intentions. (And 'it means something that you tried' kills me every time.)
Oh my gosh this is literally so beautiful. I know I say this all the time but we are literally so lucky to have another Wesley/Lilah edit by you. I’m not even a huge Taylor fan but I find this song so melancholy and beautiful, I love how you’ve given it to Wes/Lie. I also want to say how much I admire how much you use sound bites from the show + where you put them in the song. I always find it fits perfectly and really makes the video special and unique.
Hi. I have a lot of feelings about this video. God. It's so perfect. You managed to capture their entire relationship, the good, the bad and ugly in 4 minutes. I love this. A lot. It's everything I needed today. Thank you, SO MUCH!
Eep you are just killing it with these videos lately!! I LOVE that you chose such a soft melancholic song for WL. I know sometimes you get nervous about matching them with certain songs, but you never disappoint with it! And you always find new depths to explore. I know I say this to you often, but I am constantly amazed that after vidding the same show for 15+ years that your videos are never stale. You always take us to new places and make fresh connections! It's really impressive. Especially since people nowadays seem to move on from fandoms so fast and don't pay enough attention to their old shows! It means a lot that you keep our classic subjects alive! Anywho, onto the video itself. I love that given that the song uses a funeral as a metaphor you started with Lilah's literal death /sobs/ And how cool is it that you connected the "hell" element with his book and her blood oath signature for "you'll be made of ashes too" gah! See! New connections that work so well! And I'm thinking of the fact that at the end of the series they are likely in W&H hell together!! "Cause I loved you. I swear I loved you til my dying day" OUCH!!! Okay not cool!! lol but perfect lyric matches and voice overs as always! Even though it HURTS! I loved Lilah's Fred snark for "I didn't have it in myself to go with grace"!! 😆 "And you're the hero flying around saving face" with Wesley trying to fit back in with the group of "heroes" as if they didn't totally abandon him. And I loved you using Wes trying to help Lilah with her wound and her being like screw you there too, cause he left her and now he's trying to be nice and she aint having it hahaha OMG I love you for using the "Because she told me" showing that Wesley actually trusts Lilah implicitly and defends her to the group, particularly when it followed up him having to basically explain why they got together in the first place. The understanding between them is something I love so much! Gah! and I really feel Wesley's grief over Lilah's death is so palpable in this video! You did an amazing job of stringing together all these nuanced painful moments from him that I'm sure so many people gloss over! I love that you included the "It's a Lie-lah" moment which gave me a little chuckle amongst all the angst! 💚 Aaww the difference between their first night together when he acts like he doesn't care as she is leaving and then later on in their relationship when he is literally pulling her back to him for more smoochies!! I LOVE THAT! The growth!! Of course I love the contract scene always and just the way that you showed how Lilah lingers in Wesley's heart with that "loved one" moment and ending on the dollar bill that proved what they had was real! That was really powerful!!! Seriously beautiful job on this! It was so sad and haunting!! You are so talented! 🥰
Honestly I'm really happy with this one too. I've listened to this song so many times before but just recently I heard it and was like *gasp* I can easily use this for WL!! Lol. I feel like this might be one of the saddest (and perhaps least sexy?? lol) WL vid I've done because obviously the song is so tragic. But it is SO IMPORTANT to show how Wes was truly grief-stricken and broken over her death. I think people gloss over it because Wes himself very obviously represses it...he acts calm and collected in front of his friends before and after he goes downstairs to behead her but while downstairs has a psychotic break where he converses with her dead body. Like, clearly he was profoundly affected by her death. Anyway thank you for the essay comment I loved reading it as usual and you pointed out all my fav parts of the vid (as usual) LOL
