Also something not super explored in my experience is the fact they were both lonely when they met in angel (angel too but in a different way). The two most unlikely and different people just fitting together because they chose to make each other some room in their lives/heart. It was very much a choice to care and they never stopped until it was as natural as breathing to have the other by their side. Strong sibling energy especially with the "i don't have friends, yes you do, you don't count" moment. Did i mention i love them and miss them everyday?
I just started watching Buffy and Cordelia was the first one (and probably only) who treated Wesley like a person instead of a problem. Also this was so beautiful!! <3
ABSOLUTELY!! I actually have so many thoughts on Wes' BtVS journey, I know he def got hate from the fandom back in the day, and obviously a lot of hate from the Scoobies, but I am so one hundred percent on his side even back then (SHOCKING, I know lmao). People complain about Wes being useless back then, but it's absolutely because the Scoobies did not even give him the CHANCE. They treated him with disdain right from the start. Like I get they were angry Giles was fired, and that Wes came off as rather arrogant when they first met him lol, but I do feel like they were over the top with their attitude towards him. It makes sense that Cordy and Wes connected, as they were the two outcasts from the group who both got the brunt of their insults.

They literally DO NOT give him a chance and yes, they were always so rude to him without even having a reason. From what I’ve read I feel like everyone blames Wes for how Faith turned out but how the fuck is it Wesley’s fault??? And they were so mad at him for what he did (which at the time was all he knew) when literally three episodes prior Giles was sedating Buffy on behalf of the council. But it seems everyone gets forgiven except fucking Wesley, what the fuck? I’m sorry but that genuinely makes me so mad. And Wesley was so fucking smart!!! He literally figured out those swords at the drop of a fucking hat, like can you marry me already? Lol. And I completely agree with him and Cordy being outcasts. The scene of them dancing at the prom is literally so beautiful to me. At lot of people think it’s gross but I don’t know, I always thought Wesley was their age and graduated early? Like he obviously has had a different type of schooling in a different country (when Buffy tells him to get a ticket to another country it made me so mad). Now I will be playing this song on repeat until I get tired of it. Thank you <3

I agree with everything so much LOL. I have def seen people blame Wes for how Faith turned out, people absolutely lose their minds at him for that but honestly he was doing what he truly thought was the right thing. He was young and still absolutely trusted the council, having been basically indoctrinated to view them as the pinnacle of law and order all his life. Unlike Giles, he had not yet discovered the rot and corruption. It doesn't really help that the Scoobies literally did nothing but make fun of him and treat him like trash. Of course he is going to go with the council over the group of people viewing him like an antagonist. He TRULY thought he was doing the right thing and helping Faith. He gets a second chance at this in season 1 of Angel where he finally DOES go against the council and actually does help Faith. So the fact that so many people seemingly cannot let his actions in Bad Girls go actually really pisses me off lmao and like I'm sorry but Faith was truly banana bonkers insane at that point in the series so it ain't Wes' fault she turned into a monster for a while. Like not to be completely blunt BUT! lol. The Scoobies would have been much wiser to use Wes' knowledge as an asset rather than just blow him off constantly. You are absolutely correct when you say even though he was arrogant he was literally not in the wrong LOL. Truuu!! I love his first ep on Ats because Angel does try to blow him off at first but then relents and decides to let Wes help--and he proves himself to be so helpful!! Like he honestly just needed someone to give him a chance. It's HEARTWARMING. lol. Viewing Cordy and Wes as "gross" is so silly to me too, they are always vague about Wes' age but I really don't think he is meant to be much older than Cordy, especially because the other characters don't seem to be shocked and disgusted at the crush (plus Buffy is dating a dude who is 240+ years old so ehh lol).
I loved dark lana and i loved her season 8 and her getting powers and her getting trained and finding out who she is apart from clark i wish someone would do a spine off about lana lang .
Amazing character. I didn't like the Wes and Fred storyline. I think it makes Fred look fickle. She turned on Gunn a little too easily. Lilah... You turn evil for Lilah.

Lilah has the best character arc on the whole show. She's the only character that they never ruined. I wish that Wesley thought about her more. He moved on too easily. Lila showed all the emotions love, fear ,jealousy, anger. For all the terrible things she did, there's no man that's not falling in love with her. Not because of her looks, she had "it".
I swear to God every time I watch this video, I start to cry, and then I want to leave my comment on it, but it just hits me too hard and I think "I'm going to take a minute and then comment" It's a vicious cycle, so I am forcing myself to finally gather the composure to post something. lol but I just want you to know that this one was very powerful, and it hit me like a ton of bricks! It's still messing with my emotions today! It's just so perfect and heartbreakingly relatable and all the reasons we love Wes! You did such an incredible job! I'm so sorry if my comment isn't up to par. This video just haunts me! The way you showed throughout the video how hard Wesley tries. No matter if he screws up or it seems hopeless, there's no one who TRIES as hard as he does or wants to HELP more! And the fact that he does mess up in that pursuit is just so human and something we can all relate to. The important thing is to still TRY. Gah the way you started the video with his nerdy awkward side and people just kind of not giving him a chance despite how hard he clearly wants to participate was perfect! Loved your choice of "his mother thought he was quite the prodigy" for "I had the shiniest wheels now they're rusting" and the s3 btvs Faith stuff for "I've got a lot of regrets about that" and the way he went from panicking in the scene with Giles to his stoicism in Pylea! The growth! Gah and all the examples you used of him asking to help for "this is me trying"!! SO good! And of course everyone pushing him away until Angel lets him in! /sobs/ I really picked up on how sweet their relationship is in this video. The part where Angel compliments Wesley's book research was SO great! I love seeing him appreciated like that! And the way he realizes he can still uphold his vows after forsaking the council! I hate that the fandom gives Giles a free pass for almost three seasons supporting the council's decisions (including literally poisoning Buffy) before he has his breaking point, but doesn't offer the same luxury to Wes. Like yeah, drugging Buffy was the last straw for Giles. Wesley needed the Faith stuff to happen in order to get to the same conclusion as Giles! It's not rocket science, people! lol but I digress... Ugh the hospital scene with Fred...the way you cut back and forth with his drinking himself away and his throat being cut. OUCH!! "fell behind on my classmates and I ended up here" OMG so gut-wrenching with Wesley walking into his apartment alone like that!!! Holy crap! And aaww of course I love the use of Lilah for "pouring out my heart to a stranger"!! 🥰 "and it's hard to be at a party when I feel like an open wound" LOVE THAT YOU USED THE SCENE WHERE HE SAYS HE'S FRESH OUT OF BLOOD AFTER LETTING ANGEL FEED OFF HIM. It fits the metaphor AND it is also literal lol gah the story about trying to bring the bird back to life!!! That sums Wes up in a nutshell. ALWAYS TRYING TO SAVE EVERYONE EVEN WHEN IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! /sobbing/ and the ending!!!! The juxtaposition between "but you didn't" and "but it means something that you tried" YES YES YES!!! We can't always succeed but trying for DAMN SURE matters!!! You are a genius to end it like that!!! I think that might be my favorite part!!! 😭 Thank you so much for this masterpiece! Seriously, it simultaneously breaks and heals my heart!!! You're so talented and I can really feel your love for Wesley pouring out of this one!!! Beautiful work! 💚

I love all your edits, but I swear this one has just become my favorite. It captures the complexity of this character so well! And the song is PERFECT for him. He really is trying. I loved that you used a lot of clips from S1 because that’s my favorite “Wesley”… he’s trying so hard to be part of something, to fit in, to impress Angel and Cordy and be part of their group (for example here 1:28, when he’s so happy because Angel included him in the mission 🥹). But I love him in every part of his evolution, when he’s trying to be a good Watcher, when he fails, when he starts over again after his failure. He had such a journey… he suffered and failed so many times, and yet he’s so resilient. That’s what I love about him. Wesley really is the best <3
