It's been YEARS since this show ended and I still haven't found a character as complex and well developed as Wes. The road he has traveled from that first appearance on BtS to the last ep of Angel...as they say, they don't make them like that anymore. Amazing universe with characters that still inspire vidders like you to make such beautiful tributes. Thank you!
I agree, Wes has definitely had one of the most amazing story/character arcs I've ever seen. All other fictional males pale in comparison tbh! lol. The buffyverse is an amazing fictional universe and will probably never stop inspiring me one way or another, there's lots of great shows out there but not a lot that can grab me as much as Ats does.
I haven't yet found a Character on TV, whose story and development has awed me as much as Wesley's. Alexis Denisof is so underrated. I am so glad they brought him from Buffy to Angel. He became literally the best and one of the darkest characters in the universe
Wes was always the most ruthless and driven character m, willing to sacrifice anyone for the cause. But at the very start he lacked the practical skills and confidence to enact his plans. As he grew more experienced be became truly dangerous and went to some dark places. Yet he never lost sight of the mission.
This is so goddamn gorgeous. Wesley's arc is the best of the Buffyverse and the older I get the more I grow to appreciate his story and love the complexity of his character. You did so well on this!!
When he first arrived I was annoyed coz he stole Giles position but Thank God for his Character developement in Angel. One of the best characters. This video gives me the goosebumps
Wesley had one of the best character developments of any in either Buffy or Angel. He went from being a naive idiot with good intentions to being an absolute badass. I mean when he shot that lawyer in the leg for not doing as he was told you knew Wes was no longer someone to be messed with.
That was deep...Just watching these clips was emotional. Wesley ended up being my favorite character on Angel. His metamorphosis was amazing and heart wrenching. Alexis D played the hell out of that character.
OKAY WOW. I'm attacked. This edit REALLY captures his journey. He is SO SO SOOOO well developed like it's crazy. And God damnit you literally put his arc and put into it a 3m edit. Like HOW! I remember when he was on Buffy at the start he was sort of... I don't know dissmisable, unimportant; just sort of...there? I guess. But then he made friends with angel and the gang, that really made him conflicted with his loyalties to the council and angel. Anyway I love the voiceovers, how the song sounds like it should be In a Clint Eastwood movie and the colouring, of course never disappoints
Thank you! It was very difficult to put his whole story in this one video...in fact I didn't even have time to include every important arc like I wanted to, hence why season 5 is kind of brushed over lol. There's just so much to his story!
I love how Wesley developed into a total badass warrior in Angel. When he was first introduced in Buffy he was a soft and scared boy but in Angel he became a tough and resourceful member of the Angel crew. He even managed to surpass Giles in my view as far as "Watchers" go. Great character no doubt.
So many shows and movies are shit now. Some of the things that started off great have just melted into puddles of terrible writing that people defend on the Internet. It's nice to know that SOME people still appreciate subtle and well-paced character arcs like Wesley. It's amazing to me how BtVS and AtS could be so fucking goofy sometimes, but they had some of the best character writing on TV. Good job showing it, it made me remember watching Wes' amazing arc when I was younger :)

Wesley went from Watcher to Hunter. He could have teamed with the Winchesters and taught them a thing or two. Even though they were two entirely different universes, it would have been nice to have an Buffyverse/Supernatural crossover.
Thanks for this video. Wesley was my favorite character, and the one i felt i could best relate to with everything he went through.. especially dying at the end, and Illyria saying those words "would you like me to lie to you now?" kills me every time.
OMG OMG OMG!!!! I am SO mad at myself for forgetting to comment on this video!! You know how much I love your Wes vids!!! And this one is one of the best you've done!! 😍 I love how much of his btvs moments you included! It really emphasizes how much he grew. It's brilliant to start off with the "controlled circumstances" scene especially flashing to the prophecy stuff where Wes is totally lost and overwhelmed. No control. I LOVE the parallel of him asking to help!! Showing how much he cares and how hard he tries, even if he fails. It's brilliant that you used the Lilah quote about the very people he tried to help turning their backs on him! Especially since you combined it with the Scoobies! That was really powerful. Oh man and I never thought of his dad echoing back the words he used with Giles about HIM! It definitely shows that Wesley's pompous attitude on Buffy came from his father and years of basically being brainwashed and verbally abused! /cries/ my poor baby!! "I don't know what kind of man I am anymore"....gah that line and the way Alexis delivers it...it HURTS!!! I love the lyric match for the "I'll take the long way round" showing that he trusted the council with Faith at first but he learned his lesson later!! The council was all he knew. Of course it took time to realize what they were! "Loyalty to a vampire now, is it?" My heart!! And then following with him calling Angel his family!! I can't even!! You really know how to get me emotional af!!! The way he tries to protect his loved ones from Faith and from Holtz/Justine!! My love!! 😭 The blood on his hands and the "fear what you've found" showing his fear of the darkness inside of him!!! Amazing!! I love that you included him making the hard decisions in Pylea! Realizing that he can't save everybody and having the strength to live with the losses. And the scene in Choices where Buffy basically dehumanizes him because he was doing just that...thinking of the greater good! I love him so much. GOD!!! And you are a genius, lady!! "You really don't care anymore, do you?" OMG THIS MOMENT JUST ENRAGES ME. 😡 Just going to move on and try not to rant. lol Intertwining Angel's and Lilah's quotes about Wes doing the right thing was perfect!!! Lol at Lilah acting like she never does what's right. 😂 And following this with his "it's about right and wrong" and Lilah calling him out on that concept!!! How do you always find new connections on shows you've been vidding for YEARS?! You are a genius!! I love the "you never will" after Faith says she wants to hear him scream! I don't think you've used that before! But it's badass!!! Aaww omg the Lilah scenes for "There'll be things you never asked her. Oh how they tear at you now" where she was clearly about to tell him she loves him!!! And then looking at the scar he gave her after she died!!! I CAN'T HANDLE THIS VIDEO!!!! 😭😭😭 Eep and the last voice overs of Wes swearing to protect the innocent followed by the montage during the guitar solo!! SO epic!!! This video is stunning. I would show it to anyone who wondered why I love Wesley so much. All of your Wes vids are like that!! But this is one of my faves!! I hope you vid him again soon. Thank you for this masterpiece!!!
