Nothing more thrilling than the fervent scream of an old school DC motor. No UFO-like whine, no thyristor, no VVVF. It's, loud, technologically simple and yet charming anyway.
So they did not quite survive a decade after re-unification, though of course they were operating before the wall went up from about 1927 - 1961. 70 years in all: pretty good!
@@maxs351 Aber nicht mehr 1989. Da war die S-Bahn in Berlin-West schon 4 Jahre in BVG Hand. In Berlin -Ost war die DR der Betreiber. Aber auch nur bis zur Übernahme der S-Bahn in Berlin durch die DB.
