The poor girl who is alive and breathing might have to go through extreme mental trauma from giving birth to the child, the woman might take it as a symbol that she was raped. Even if the child is not in her care, she still does not want to have to go through that trauma. In this case, i think she should have an abortion if desired because its the person who is alive that has to go through mental trauma and possible physical issues if the baby cannot be safely birthed or cause problems to the mother, the child doesn't have to go through anything or face mental trauma or physical issues if aborted immediately. I'm taking in count the person who is LIVING, not the one who is being created and been creating for one day.

In case you haven't noticed, raising a child is extremely expensive, and requires money that most people don't have. Most people who have children are in financial dept for the rest of their lives because of funding their child's and their own education, medical needs, housing, and other basic necessities. What you have essentially just said is that all children should be put on birth control because of rapists, which is therefore supporting the idea that everyone should expect to be raped. How would you think a child would react to being told that one day a man or woman might force them up against a wall and have sex with them while they sob and beg for them to stop? Should they be forced to have the child who was a result of rape, and have a constant reminder of the day that someone took it upon themselves to rape them? It wasn't their choice to be raped, and most pregnant teens under the age of eighteen are forced out of their houses if they are found to be pregnant, especially if it's against religious or personal beliefs. This also potentially leads to suicide, whether the rape victim was mentally stable, or not, as some people would rather kill themselves than have to bear a child. Pregnancy has the ability to ruin a life, whether birthing the child could be fatal or not, and a closed-minded person like yourself should consider the facts, and emotions of a rape victim, not their unborn child who doesn't have the self-awareness to know it is alive. It is scientifically proven that a newborn baby lacks the ability to be self-aware. Fetuses only begin to show slight signs of consciousness between the twenty fourth and twenty eighth weeks of gestation. People may argue that life begins with a heartbeat, but fail to realize that these fetuses don't know that they are going to be born. The will of the mother should be kept in mind when considering an abortion, not the unborn child's. You argue that trauma is insignificant, but trauma requires medical care, as well as medications, and is a scar on a person for life that they will never forget (unless, if you'd want to put up the stupid argument of early signs of Alzheimer's or dementia), and can also render a parent unable to care for a child. So please, do take care to consider how you would feel if you were forced into having sex on the streets, rather than assuming that it would be your own child who would get raped, because it appears that you are taking the side of the rapist, and promoting that the bearer of a child should have expected to be raped, and that it is their fault that a fetus is forming inside of them, not the rapist's.

mharris1270 I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. Though I do see abortion as a very devastating option, I do approve of it in some cases. If you are physically/mentally/emotionally unable to birth and take care of the child, then it would be an option to take into consideration. If you were a victim of rape and don't want to see your child as the loss of your innocence and don't want to hate the child, abortion or adopting out would be acceptable. Not everyone can go on birth control, not everyone can afford it.

I’m a gay guy and the WBC really used to hurt me and my boyfriend a lot. A combination of their mean-spirited signs and getting bullied growing up -both physically and mentally - at my school was very overwhelming on me. I started to be ashamed of myself for being gay and thought God genuinely hated me, and that I was going to hell. I was even suicidal at one point because I couldn’t take the daily abuse, physical and emotional torment, and dehumanization the bullies at my school caused. And the WBC only added to it. But my wonderful boyfriend made me realized I shouldn’t hate myself for who I am, my true nature, and what I was born as. He and a lot of other compassionate people pulled me out of my depression. Today I’m a happy guy, I love my boyfriend more than anything, and I pity the WBC. They have such a negative, pessimistic lifestyle.

I don't care what religion you believe in, or what morals you hold yourself too, but not one person has the power or knowledge to be able to determine whether or not someone is going to hell because of the actions that they chose to take in life. The Bible was not written to make a guideline that man is supposed to follow. It was written to fulfill the needs of the people writing the book at the time. Also, regarding the topic of dead soldiers, I think that it is sick that these people say that the soldiers deserved what they got. I don't care who you think you are or what holy spirit told you to do so, but no one should be allowed to make the families of the deceased feel this way after they have already lost a loved one. No murder is ok, nor is it justified(disregarding self-defense to protect yourself or others). I do not like war, so I do not want that message to be pulled out of this.
