Join us on our journey as we continue to rebuild, refit and prepare our Formosa 51 Sailboat for our continued cruising journey. We have always loved the Formosa, bought one (on a bit of a whim) late in 2014, moved aboard this one right away and started to do our refit while living board. We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them.

Wow! That looks like an absolute blast! You did this trip in July? How warm was it down there? Such a great experience, especially for the young ones. Have a good friend, born and raised in Belize, British Honduras actually....have seen many pictures of down there but its great seeing this footage. Thank you for sharing! Can't wait to see more! Be safe and be well!

It was good for the kids, we wanted them to get experiences of other countries and felt like a cruise would be a good way to get them that experience, but this really stopped at more "cruise Terminals" with all amenities just in their own little port. Unless you booked a cab and went somewhere it was a little harder to go visit locals and live like locals, which is what we wanted them to experience. In next weeks episode we went around Mexico a little bit, but I think next time we will take them to Jamaica and just go rent a house for a week away from the city. We have done that and it is awesome to be part of the local community for a period of time. We went to Belize once, but it was the same thing, on a cruise and while we did travel from port and spend time with locals, it wasn't the same as going for a while and staying. Funny story, when we went, In Belize Deb and I went on an excursion and our daughter who was 17 at the time went with another woman we met at dinner on the cruise and they went horse back riding. We didn't think twice about it, now I would NEVER let me kid go with someone else in another country like that. :)

@@Svdreamchaser So was this cruise years ago? I completely agree....living like the locals makes for an awesome experience not just for the youngsters, for everyone. I could use a little Jamaica right now too...minus 3°F this morning with minus 20° windchill and a foot of snow on the ground...ugh!

Oh wait,@@crivitzguy5017 Sorry, I thought you meant the smaller cruise I said I enjoyed. That was 20 years ago when we let me daughter do a separate excursion from us. This video cruise was just in in July or August of 2023. lol. Sorry I may have missed the question clearly. :)
