We stayed in Yamanochaya in Hakone too a few years ago. Onsen/baths were wayyyy too hot for me. Great experience though.

Thanks for the videos. I am planning on a one month trip to Japan in October 2023. Planning on using my Amex>ANA for a first class flight to Haneda from ORD.. Then doing Tokyo>Hakone>Shizuoka>Nagoya>Kyoto>Osaka>Hiroshima>Fukuoka>Nagasaki then fly back to Tokyo. Too ambitious?

What was your decision process in choosing Yama no Chaya over say, Gora Karan, Hakone Ginyu , Fufu Hakone, other…?

Hakone Ginyu was fully booked for the night, and Yama No Chaya was recommended to us (so was Gora Karan), in the end I went with the cheaper option

Lounge access at the RC for about 200-300 $ per night definitely not worth the price LoL.

Hi Ricky: Thank you again for your tip to me months ago so my wife and I got ANA 1st class round-trip in November! 😊 We actually will start our trip from TPE to Osaka for 7 nights from NRT back to LAX. We plan to go to Kyoto. Can you please recommend the WHERE to stay for our consideration? We have many UR & MR points but wish to use for the right places to stay. Thank you in advance!

@@_Ricky Thanks so much for your super fast reply! I checked and decided to stay in the Roku Kyoto LHR by Hilton for 2 nights then move to Tokyo! This means we need to figure out what to do between Osaka 11/18 and Kyoto 11/21. Do you any tips please? 😁
