They do have the electronic assist steering, I noticed mine was starting to have issues over a year ago. So putting a plow on the front did not help that but I haven't had any major issues with it thus far. I will add we haven't had much snow in my area.
Is yours a 3.5 or 2.7L Ecoboost? What is your front GVWR shown on the door tag? I've been seriously debating doing exactly this on my 2016 3.5L but mine has the lowest front axle weight rating offered in the F150 family. Have thought about swapping out the front struts/springs (I might be able to convince the wife they needed to be changed anyway since i'm almost at 100k miles but that's a different story) to go beefier but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.
Mine is the 3.5, they didnt offer the 2.7 in this generation, wasn't until the new body styles. I am not sure exactly what my front gvwr is, it just tells me my overall gvwr for payload in general. I do have moog from joints, and rough country leveling struts on the front end. So without breaking the bank completely I did upgrade while staying oem for the most part in my front end. i just used it for the first tie this year and the truck didnt seem to mind the extra weight on the front.
