My mom can be quite toxic, but my father is exact opposite, my mother keeps reminding me about my failures, but my father is just amazing about life. It's funny how my mother tried soo much nagging and trying to change my life her way, but I never learned anything from her, but on the contrary I hardly ever had a talk with my father, but learned soo much from him! How ironic! Edit: By the way, maam, you just started quite a fruitful journey!

Wow, this is such an interesting comment, thank you for sharing. Indeed, there is no use trying to force lessons on our children. What do you feel is the most important thing you learned from your father, if you don't mind sharing or if it's something you can even put into words. I think you're right, it will be a fruitful journey and hopefully not just for me but everyone watching too.

I am 24 now but i was like the same rebellious child when i was in my 16-22 i feel the same that i didn’t got any platform or liberty to choose my own things.. so when i moved out for grads i got into super bad company had to drop out as well but somehow managed to overcome from all those with the help of strong support of my family and some good friends.. Being a parent must be such a constant struggle. I'm listening to this, right before we may have a baby, and am terrified. Welcome, and thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. I appreciate them so much. How exciting that you may have a baby soon. Please don't be terrified; it is the most natural thing in the world. Only we/society make it so complicated and a struggle. Follow your instincts (and maybe Sadhguru) and you and your child will be fine. To quote you "be a transparent bubble around your child just long enough till they can stand on their own feet - protect them, but don't use them as something to put your hopes and dreams on." That is so true, thank you for sharing. Often parents think they can't show any weakness to their children, but there is no shame in not knowing things, and it's important to share this with your children. The short answer to this is to Love and cultivate it .. One doesn't need a Guru for something that is infinite and and eternally embedded in creation... There is only one thing to do is LOVE unconditionally and you will find out it doesnt need to be learn or thought, its a language of the soul and costs nothing. I feel like children already come with their own nature and pre personality and depending on how they are naturally blossoming into i feel what you teach them can naturally go against or with their own natural born nature and I think that’s when as sahdguru says depression/mental diarrhea happens because they’re in battle with what you ingrain into them with what they feel is right it’s something I suffer with in all honestly my mother is very different from me and growing up she was constantly drilling into me about how friends are not real and a lot of other negative things that go against my very calm, loving and compassionate nature where I love helping people and being very loving towards everyone and now as an adult I suffer between wanting to do what I want and what was drilled into me but I’m working on it 😊

@spiritualreactions Год назад
I really appreciate your comment; so well put. You're right, what we try and ingrain in children many times creates conflict within them against their own natural impulses and inclinations. I'm sad to hear for you, this meant trying to stifle your loving nature, but it sounds like you are making an effort to work through this conflict and succeeding at sharing your love with the world. I hope you will stick round with your positive energy 🙏💜

How many parents have even given time to their kids to explore their own intelligence? Of course this comes with a clear understanding of life somewhere in the background.. And that background is what is necessary to give to child.....to give a helping hand ,in a loving way....to give space if needed, time if needed. But at the same time ,it can also go horribly wrong if the situations are not proper..... The kid has to have life sense. And if parents are life sensitive, they will simply observe and see ,I think.... But uf parents themselves are life insensitive, somewhere or the other, there is a huge chance that they will also copy the same and will become distorted in their perception in no time.. Sadhguru 's basic Inner Engineering course offered is of tremendous help here ! It was the only thing that really helped me see ot for myself, what and how, I was functioning in a very unconscious way ! It is not comparable to any book I have read, any life coach advice I have received,it is just fantastic beyond what I can describe ....🙏🏻

I would like to put accross my point of view. A child is born and learns, as parents, we have to teach them until they are adults. If we are just friend and give up our right to tell them the right and wrongs of life, we don't have the the right to be parents. What works for one person may not work for another, due to where he lives, what culture they are coming from and what country they are from. Until a child does not become an adult, for example, until 8 years you have to tell the child the basics, you have to behave well, for him to follow, you have to be kind and be a friend for him to learn what a friend means. Don't put pressure on a child. Don't expect so much from him that he/she never delivers. The basic mantra is, teach the child what you have learnt and when he is ready to take up responsibilities, you advice when he asks for it. (Please read it as applying for both he and she)
@padmanabhaswamy
@padmanabhaswamy Год назад
I am not saying, hammer your child, all I am saying is, you have a right to express your displeasure when they do wrong. Doesn't a friend get angry and express his displeasure? What does kindness mean, for that a child has to grow-up.
@spiritualreactions
@spiritualreactions Год назад
I love this comment, thank you for taking the time to put your view across so calmly. I agree that we are here to help guide our children about the rights and wrongs of life. Unfortunately, a lot of adults don't follow their own advice yet expect more from their children - we hold them to a higher standard than ourselves. Or many parents try to forcefully mould their children into who they think they should be, or what they should be doing (the way Sadhguru talks about them not needing a "boss"). I think there is a way to guide children without dominating them.
@spiritualreactions
@spiritualreactions Год назад

12 years has a spiritual significant in that as a parent you essential make the important choices for them until that age, after that they fully own their freewill. Luke 2:41 "Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. But they did not find him"

I am a Hindu and one thing I partially disagree with sadhguru is parents should not just friends with children they also needs to be become Guru and protector because children are not capable of taking their own decisions and they can be easily persuaded by wrong things/people that's why parents needs to guide them in right way That why a mother considered as the First Guru (teacher)of a child that doesn't mean they should force the child to be dependent on them for rest of their lives and other thing i disagree with sadhguru is that children don't owe anything to their parents, Yes they do....

Thank you for sharing your interesting perspective. It's always important to hear other views. I'd tend to agree that children do need to be guided in certain aspects and choices. Method of Ancient Kings for establishing justice … (Excerpt from message of Shri Datta Swami) Today, moral classes are introduced in the education system to very little extent. Morals are taught without the basic concept of God, Heaven and hell. Nobody likes to follow the morals if there is a chance to fool the courts. Morals are followed only for the fear of court punishments. If such punishments can be escaped by over intelligence, there is no loss at all in doing the sin and in such case also if the sin is not done it is mere foolishness! Instead, the concept of God as omniscient and the inevitable hell will control anybody to do the sin because over intelligence fails in the case of God. The ancient kings were very clever in developing the spiritual knowledge to large extent in the education system for creating the inbuilt resistance to the sin in every citizen from the childhood. Due to this, the sin became very rare and the controlling agencies were very few resulting in very smooth administration. In a large kingdom, there used to be a single court (Dharmasanam) in presence of the king since only very few cases of sin used to come from the entire kingdom. The police departments were almost non-existent. The reason was everybody feared to do the sin fearing for the omniscient and omnipotent God because even if you escape the court, you can never escape God. Therefore, the lack of place for spiritual knowledge in the education system is the main reason for such expansion of corruption. A specific course called philosophy exists, which can be taken by anybody if interested and we find very very few students only in such course! This is not correct. The philosophy or spiritual knowledge should be common to every student from L.K.G. to P.G. level since every citizen needs the inbuilt resistance to the sin. Introduction of the spiritual knowledge in the education system alone can bring a permanent solution, which is the fundamental rectification. People misunderstand that spiritual knowledge is limited to nivrutti (God & devotion etc.), which is the second part only. The first part of the spiritual knowledge is actually the pravrutti (social justice). You must remember that the Lord said in the Gita that He comes down to earth to establish pravrutti only (dharmasamsthaapanaarthaaya …). Universal Spirituality for World Peace

Wow what an amazing comment. I’m sorry it took me so long to reply but I wanted to make sure I read it fully. I think your idea of spiritual knowledge in the education is so important and is missing from all education systems I know of; part of the reason we have chosen to homeschool our children. If more children can be taught to tap into and their use their innate spiritual knowledge we may have hope
