Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast Vlog January 2023 

As someone who is not ashamed to admit that they are a huge fan of The Inbetweeners this vlog was a lot of fun to watch

I would always visit Wet'n'Wild just because of SurfRider. There was usually never a big queue with it being in a water park, and it was a great intense ride with lovely floating airtime, almost like a frisbee or intamin gyro. Makes sense why it doesn't work business wise with such low rider numbers in a water park, but for a coaster lover it was fantastic to get so many repeat rides every visit.

my favourite ride there was the twister. That freaked me out years ago when I was 12.

It kinda reminds me of the old wet n’ wild in Orlando. Which was taken down for volcano bay. Basically the park wasn’t themed at all, though the rides had small themes attached to them like the DiscoH2O or the black hole. It was simple fun for a while.

I went there in august when I was on holiday in Australia, absolutely loved it especially the water slide “kaboom”

Water parks are great fun. This one looked to have some great slides. Such a pity Charlotte’s phobia stop her enjoying to it’s fullest. The food options also looked tasty. Fun morning in the sun for you both.

Only been to one Wet N Wild before, California back in the 90's. They never disappoint, great day out for all the family. Shame about the SBNO coaster, looks great!

Looks really nice there , such a beautiful country that so many of us never get the chance to visit in life, have to admit I love Aussies....they are such great people , so laid back yet hardworking and super friendly in my experience . Its also nice to see you both taking what is a bucket list trip for many . So much better now you have Charlotte with you full time, bless her, all that time she had to work away from you whilst your channel grew it's so much better that you can both enjoy your work together now . I would just like to add that all your effort to film and create all this content is appreciated massively, if I'm honest it takes a certain type of person to do what you do , its alot of effort with all the filming , editing etc so I'm thankful for the opportunity to see so many places I've never seen nor likely to visit. Keep up the great work both of you and have a great time 👍😁

Wet n Wild was also where some of the iconic Scooby doo movie was filmed. Calyso bay was used for the Quad bike chase and as the spooky island bar

Great Water Park Vlog Shawn and Charlotte

I remember seeing the Aqua-loop slide on a show called Xtreme Waterparks on Travel Channel UK on a Saturday night before my favourite programming was on 9 years ago. What I remember from that show is that one of the four people who tested the ride on the segment actually failed to make the loop and had to get out through an escape hatch which was always open in case it happens. The other three that did make it got a bit concerned about the one that failed to make the loop. Since then, I only ever saw one failed attempt on RU-vid via POV.

It’s great to see all of the iconic inbetweeners moments in this vlog, absolutely love the film. Great vlog Shawn and Charlotte.

Just watched today's vlog watched the scare one yesterday late on after decorating I jumped a couple of times and I'm not there lol I like how poor Charlotte went in front lol I would have been hiding behind you Shawn the water park loved lovely see you on the next one lovelies xx

I went to wet and wild yesterday

I’ve been to movie world and sea world. So glad you’re here in Australia. I hope you have an awesome time. I highly recommend the Mid North Coast. There’s a small theme park called Timbertown in Wauchope that you should check out some time.

My partner is a massive fan of the film so was excited to see the 'special' slide haha. Looks like a good park, but weird how open and exposed some of it is to the car park etc

Water parks are very popular in Australia. We have loads of them. I just recently went to Melbourne's Funfeilds and they had some incredible thrill slides there.

Love the water park vlogs. Ive really enjoyed watching the count down videos latley and maybe a top 10 water parks that you have visted in the world would make a nice video maybe? Would love to see at top 10 roller coasters in the world video from Charlotte. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

The original plan for Surfrider was apparently to go to Sea World but it was added to Wet n Wild for the capacity. The operations staff from Movie World did go over to operate the ride before it was SBNO.

It was really humid when I went in 2015 and I was in the same area as you, I did go in November so not sure if that makes a difference, you defo could feel the humidity as you crossed into Queenslands from New South Wales.

You mentioned a couple of times being fans of Scooby Doo, so here's a fun fact: As well as The Inbetweeners, there is also a scene from The Scooby Doo movie that was filmed at Calypso Bay. You see the buildings in this video when they're wrapping up the Calypso Bay segment. I haven't seen the movie for a while, but from memory the scene in question in the movie is the outside night time party.

The track on Surfrider was replaced and is brand new. It hasn't operated since being retracked though. :(

I went to see the inbetweeners 2 film a cineworld way back in 2014 and I remember when the three boys went on holiday to the Gold Coast in Australia because they had another friend who lived in Australia and remember watching the scene from the water park and it was flipping hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing.

Have you ever done any of the aqualoop slides? I know you don't love the trapdoor slides but the feeling of going through the inclined loop on a waterslide is amazing and unlike anything on a roller coaster. It's worth trying at least once.

Hey Shawn and Charlotte I hope you are enjoying your holiday, When it come to the Surf coaster and if I owned it I wouldn't move it to Movie World I would move it to Sea World so it can stay on Theme, sorry Charlotte I disagree with you on that.

I wish they had that same viewing area for Dragon at Siam Park that they have for tornado here at Wet N Wild, as the only decent view you can get of Dragon is from Tower Of Powers viewing area

Love water parks. Great vlog 👍. Love the way you two go with the flow, just soaking in the atmosphere. Charlotte is a great advocate for those who are nervous about water. P.s, what were you thinking Charlotte?! Should have sent Shawn up the slides then got a cheeky calipo lolly or better yet a fridge magnet, lol😉🤣

It's a shame you've never been on an Intamin surf rider, they're really fun rides. They almost feel more like a flat ride than a coaster. My only worry with relocating this one to movie world is that the capacity is not very great on them.

Looks like a nice waterpark. Shame you didn’t get any on ride videos. I couldn’t go to a waterpark and not ride the slides.

It’s not overly humid on the Gold Coast because it’s a subtropical environment but further north it’s just like Singapore.. sticky and gross!

The problem with water parks is they don't seem very accessible. If the eiffel tower can have a lift up the side there's no reason that water slides can't have lifts to the top. I can understand how it'd be awkward to get wheelchairs up & down (unless there was a carer who could keep it at the bottom), but there's a lot of semi-ambulant disabled people who would otherwise be able to enjoy the slides. They could have seats round the sides of the lift too for people who can't even stand for the length of that journey. People afraid of heights who'd be ok once they got to the enclosed part might prefer to use a lift too.

I went to Wet N Wild a few times when I was younger, but one summer one of their lifeguards called me fat and it left a disgusting taste in my mouth lol

If you ever want a partner to go down water slides, give me a shout 😂

Was this related at all the Wet n Wild in Orlando? I think Universal may have owned it.

I'd love to try every slide but as a wheelchair user I don't think I'd be able to go on a single one 😔
