OMGGGG!! if I was around you right now, I would KISS YOU!!!! I purchased this printer a few days ago and it converted nicely. However, 24 hours later it notified me that an update was needed, I updated not knowing I shouldn't have. The printer wouldn't recognize 3 of my cartridges afterwards. I have googled for 3 days now trying to find a way around this. I tried all other hacks, but it still would not recognize the new cartridges. I ran across your video about an hour ago, did exactly what you have, and VIOLA!!!! THANNNNKKKK YOU!!! I'm in the middle of a huge T-shirt order and I was about to purchase another printer, just to finish. (Knowing I couldn't afford to) DYNAMITE!!! (in my JJ voice) lol
i just got a new 7820 last week, and i ordered Dynamite gorilla cartridges ,i am glad i found this video it puts my mind at ease to see this is possible to do.
Yes! Thank you!! I love it, "someone told me I couldn't do it". Challenge accepted lol. My 7820 is on the way and I'm excited! Aww man you're sold out of the cartridge and ink package.
Excellent video!!! I almost purchase that printer until you said once the ink ran out you needed to purchase another NEW set of Epson ink to change the chip. I was like Hell No!! Lol
I think this is great, even with the fact you still have to buy the ink in order to get the chip. I pay 308 to 350 for my sawgrass 500 ink. To have a printer like this that can print this big of a size without having to pay the extra 400 for the bypass tray like I would have to do for the Sawgrass is Worth it. My cost would be around 110.00 to 140.00 doing it this way compared to the 308.00. Im getting twice the amount and bigger printing size. I can deal with this work around until they can break the code. Thanks so much for this, my next question is what would be the empty cartage size for the 7840.
Thank you so much, I just sold my 7720 printer because of the chips in the heads going up and down not knowing that you can fix it, bought this printer not knowing there was no ink system, found your video got my set today and did all the steps here in the video and bam it works as said! Thanks a bunch will order again also fast shipping and great seller.
Ok so I have a update, the ink is showing empty but it doesn’t let me print anymore because of the chips so what do I do now, because it doesn’t read it full but the cartridges are full like you said. So yes until they make the kit we are stuck unless you put any kind of chip on it lol and it works
I got the cartridges I ordered from you and followed the directions from this video. Just did a test print and so far so good. Great alternative for those us looking to get into this and don't want to seek an overpriced 77xx model for sublimation. Really appreciate this video.
Hey bro! This is a great video you put out for sublimation... especially the tips you left us in case you run into snags, for example, chip set and ink settings. Big thanks!! Your post was a big help in my set up! One question tho: What happens to all the 802 cartridges that comes with the printer and those you would order, later?
Do you (or anyone else) know if they have developed the CISS system for this or even the bypass for the "reusable" chips? Love this printer, but hate the fact that I have to swap out and buy new chips each time in addition to the sublimation ink.
I watch the video and had the hardest time trying to get my printer to read the chip. I ended up spending more money on epson cartridges and used those chips but my printer is pretty bad at stopping and not recognizing a cartridge. I am beyond myself with this printer by now. the ink was not even empty or even remotely as I haven't printed much yet. I probably printed 15 sheets of 13x19 and once again, now it is say it does not recognize the black cartridge. this is getting very expensive for a newby.
@@IROOKLYN well I think you can. I used to have a printer from a cake place. Checkout Icings Images to look at the printers. But I think you can . Rear feed would be best tho for the icing sheets
At the very end of the video you said you would not recommend doing this because something about you having to replace the cartridges again and using a lot of ink or something. I thought that when you replace the cartridges you would just be able to refill them again and again and again with the ink that you bought. What am I missing here?
Hello Dynamite I appreciated your video and did everything as you instructed. I have not been able to get the printer to recognize the black cartridge and don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? The chip is turned the right side up. I've done the same steps with all the cartridges but only the black has an X beside it in the setup. It's a new printer so really would appreciate your help with this. Any walk through suggestions?
@@lorihaslerud2366 I ended up purchasing a new black cartridge and I loaded the original cartridge in before removing the chip. Remember to shake the cartridge before inserting, I forgot to do that and even though it was new, the printer read it as low ink and I haven’t been able to change that. Can’t wait for a no new chip replacement solution
I've done this but it didn't work for me. I've also took it back out and it back in the printer, and when I take the cartridges out the chip comes off into the slot where the cartridges is. I also purged the cartridges but it still reads no ink cartridges. Please help as I do not know what else to do. The printer is just sitting up day by day.
I converted my wf7840 per you instruction and it has worked great UNTIL the printer thinks the ink “should” be empty! Do you have a solution for resetting the cartridges or are there 3rd party refills yet?
useful work. thank you. Did you use the printer with regular ink before sublimation. I have a wp 4535 series printer. I used this normally. Does it work as sublimation.
7-14-24, HELLO, I JUST BOUGHT THIS PRINTER, I DON'T SUBLIMATE SHIRTS A LOT, THIS WILL WORK, I DO HAVE AN EPSON SC F170 SUBLIMATION PRINTER, IT GOES UP TO 8.5X14. I CAN USE IT FOR MY MUGS AND TUUMBLERS, PLATES. I WILL SET THIS PRINTER UP MAYBE TOMORROW. THANKS FOR YOUR TUTORIAL, YOU ARE VERY THOROUGH AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. QUESTION CAN YOU REFILL THESE CARTRIDGES BEFORE THEY GET LOW WITHOUT TAKING THEM OUT?
First of all THANK YOU for this video! My post would be too long if I explained the hell that I went through after purchasing two extra printers and they still couldn’t work. But anyway I followed your instructions got my 7820 working and out of nowhere it stopped recognizing one of the cartridges. Any suggestions?
If the printer will make you buy new cartridges for the new Chips each time, could you not just continuously refill the cartridges that you put in originally? That way they never read as low?
Thank you for this post... helpful for us trying to get started by trying to avoid unnecessary spending.. so before I buy one, will the 7840 convert like the 7820?
@Sharron Witherspoon Jr. I initially purchased printer jack ink, then cosmos (haven't ran out of printer jack ink)...I did receive my cartridges and will be converting tonight or tomorrow.
Hello I followed this video to set my new wf7820 but when printing the head nozzle check the black ink comes out with white spots, I ran the cleaning cycle several times but it got worse, how can I fix this iSsue?
boss, thanks for the video and walkthrough... was there any particular reason why you were disabling the printer drivers for the printer? Does it/would it affect the print quality?
Thanks for your video. Does it make sense to purchase the XL packages of ink when it time to replace the chips that came with the printer? I'm trying to determine if it will allow for more printing or should I stick to the regular ink packs. Trying to understand the chips.
You can fill them before they run empty, but the printer goes off what the chip reads and not the level.of ink inside the cartridge. So when the printer thinks that the cartridge is empty, it will stop printing. But if your Cartridges were to run empty before the printer recognizes them as empty you can refill them and continue to print.
Most chips need to be reset after a certain number of allocated prints. This way your printer will be able to alert you that you're low. It also helps them to make it more difficult for off brand inks and refillable. They'd like to deter those since they are losing money on ink. I've seen a chip resetter used to reset the print count to one on old chips but I've yet to use one myself. I'm still researching it to see if it's a viable option until the chipless software is available.
I bought the cartridge for the 7820 today and then I checked later on and seen you have a bundle with the ink. I’m super bummed I would have bought the bundle instead.
Hi... Thank you for taking the time to walk us through this process. I installed the ink and must have watched this video 20 times... printer set up and my paper has ink leaking on the paper.. How do I fix this?
Hi. I have a question. If someone can help me. I just purchased the Epson WF 7840. I’ve been using it for regular heat transfer paper. But I’m so addicted to watching all of these sublimation videos. Is it too late for me to convert it? Or am I still able too? Once my ink cartridges run out? 🤔
I have this printer but decided not to use it for sublimation, I just ordered the et-15000. But my question is how do I get it to print 11x19.. I keep trying and looking for video.. any help would be appreciated 🙏🏽 Namaste
I purchased this printer not knowing that I could convert to do sublimation. How do I clean the ink out of the printer and switch to the sublimation ink?
Hi what program do i need to print a image. Also on the refillable ink cartridges does the plugs need to be off when instilling them. Thank boss hope to hear from you soon
I bought this printer and converted it. The printouts looked fine but after pressing a shirt and phone case, the colors were off and I think the black was not printing. I reached out to the company I bough the ink from and they said to do a few print head cleans. Now nothing is printing at all. Do you know why this would be? I did a nodule check and now nothing.... :( Also is there a specific profile setting for this? I have not set anything up and keep reading about this.
hello i have the WF-7610 new in the box i bought 6 years ago never open. what you did in this video will it work with mine and is mine to old to use and not work with sublimation printing
Help!!!! I have followed ALL the steps in your video, however, my printer is printing blank. I have no idea what the problem could be. I'm hoping that you or someone on RU-vid can assist.
thank you for posting this!!! why did you say not to continue with the 802's in the 7820...? Why would I need to remove the chips again...can I just add more ink into it if it runs low? Sorry, I'm a bit new and confused... My printer 7820 just got delivered yesterday and I'm excited...
Which printer would you recommend to do sublimation with. I am new to all of this and just started doing research. I'm in the process of trying to purchase a printer?
good idea, future problem that i see is when ships read full. I see you got an extra set of new chips but that is ,ore money spent to just replace a chip. what can you do when chip read full?
