@@happygardener28 I can read 😂, but what I meant was --‐- I would love to SEE the healing process during or at least after completion. What scar if any that it left etc.
I will never tire of these often epically gross informational and educational videos! They make me realize that I should have gone into vet med like I had originally planned, but at least my daughter did! Love that you throw in a little humor as well!
I love watching your video’s Dr.Enoch. Veteran’s very often have to think on their feet and you did just that well done 👍. Your knowledge, expertise and dedication to your work shows how much you care for the animals you are treating. I am a pommie living in California for 36 years now. Happy Easter to you And Your Family 🩷🐰💙🐰🩵🐰.
Necessity is the mother of invention, and that was definitely inventive. Nicely done. My thought when the band kept slipping off was to add a couple of stay sutures and use traction on those to elevate the mass as far as possible so you could get the band properly underneath it. It would've been easier to get the band around sutures than that wire, but stay sutures wouldn't have done anything to stop the band coming off after you let her go, so I'm happy to admit that your idea was better. And that my idea had probably occurred to you already. Also, I'm adding my voice to the "get a better microphone" chorus. Your videos are great, but I can't understand half of what you say with all the wind.
He mentions at 1:40ish that the lipoma would have a pretty large blood supply so if you go to cut it out, you have to deal with all the blood vessels. Banding it this way causes it to dry up and fall off completely, making for a simple and effective procedure, assuming you can get the band on.
What would be the benefit for this method compared to just cutting it out if its a lipoma? Also, I would've thought that the rubber band would've cut blood supply to the skin as well?
@@nicolahiggins9746 Opening a hole in the skin and stitching back up increases blood loss and infection risk. This growth does not contain fluid that can be drained. Using a latex band to remove it cuts off the blood and allows the body to naturally heal the area while resulting in minimal infection risk.

You are so inventive, there is never a no for Enoch cause you'll always find a way. I always say it but I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE THIS CHANNEL, I COULD WATCH YOU WORK ALLDAY EVERYDAY. YOU ARE THE BEST ENOCH LOTS OF LOVE AS ALWAYS FROM TORONTO CANADA.
He injected lidocaine to numb the area behind the mass before he started. And cows don’t experience pain like humans. The “pain” she experienced was being confined in the crush, and was gone immediately when she was released. Additionally, the lack of blood supply kills the nerves, so this was essentially a painless and infectionless procedure. It eliminated much pain by preventing infection but also removed the mass.
@@drvosstube why are you trying to educate me when all I was doing was leaving a nice comment?! I don't see you trying to educate the ppl saying really negative crap in the comment section. But THANKS doc for essentially thinking I'm just a stupid woman that doesn't know animals. I may know them more than you think seeing how I was raised on a Native Rez. And we view every animal as special but screw that right?
@@Letha-Mae Maybe Enoch can use this method on you to remove the giant, ugly chip on your shoulder. Then all you would have to deal with would be the inferiority/victimhood complex.
Love watching your video's , but could you plz get something to help you with the wind sound because I cant understand most of what you are saying in most of your video's because of the wind ! Thank you 👍
I wonder how long it takes to be an official Australian, because the longer you stay there the more you sound like one. Love your videos - grew up on a Polled Hereford farm and miss my cows!
Imagine having a band around a piece of your skin of your wrist to cut off the blood supply. It is painful and considered an inhumane practice as is banding bulls.
This cow probably lives out on pasture/in the bush all the time, not in a barn unless necessary to bring them them in for their safety. With that in mind, you don't want her to have a wound that fly strike or other issues might cause because she will just get a huge infection. The band will slowly cut off the blood supply to the lipoma and not create an open wound that is sucesstible to infection. Over time, the lipoma will fall off. Does it hurt a little, yeah, but it's not so bad. My husband actually took off skin tags this way by using thread.
As soon as the clicking begins, she wants out of there quickly. She has either seen this done or had it done to her. Too funny. I just can’t imagine why she wouldn’t want a big rubber band tightened around the lump that is already painful. So, let’s just see how much more painful it can become. Poor wee baby. LMFAO. That’s why I like watching your videos. Always full of fun and learning. Thanks, again, for sharing.
Great way to remove it! An incisions and stitches would be an infection risk. I’m still amazed that people could look at cows and think anything good comes out of their users given how filthy they are
I feel so sorry for animals that have to go through this. Abscesses are so painful and all the farting around he's doing is making it even more painful
This is not an abscess, this is a large mass (tumor). This methodology worked exceptionally well and saved her from a more invasive surgery. Don’t feel sorry, feel happy for her, we are there to help and we did help! Cheers!
With all the numbing, I bet she's more scared than in pain. Which is understandable... being in a crusher with a batch of people around you, some you've never met before, poking you.
The vet is ace in all he does. What wasn’t right in this video was the human kicking at the animals head, seen repeatedly in the video, to make it stand up.. Isn’t someone who cares about animal welfare.
@@MakeCannabisLegal I get it but cattle can be stubborn. I am not sure which is more cruelter, the shock prod or kicking/smacking/whip. You just have to make do what's available at hand in order to treat them. It's not like they enjoyed hurting animals.
Any chance of the rancher sending photos of the progression of the mass in the days after the band was inserted.?? It would be cool to see it in a progression series of photos until it falls off.
Loving these frequent videos Enoch. You rock but just to add the cream on the cake, a new mic would work wonders for the eardrums when using headphones 😘
Enjoy your videos.Good thinking with the wire. I recently had a bright red growth the size of a marble form in the very center of my back.a result of me trying to remove what I thought was a BB size blackhead (dilated pore of wiener.?. )using the the tip of a.08 gauge syringe as a makeshift double sided scalpel, inserted point, just a hair closer to the “blackhead”, >1/2 length of the small incision needed to cur the margin of the pore to make extraction easier. Then changed the angle of insertion to pierce to the center of the “blackhead “ & remove it with a rolling motion. All the while looking over my left shoulder in the mirror with my right arm contorted behind me approaching what I now realized was not a large blackhead but a odd shaped mole of some sort. In hindsight, I should have worn my glasses & also used a 2nd smaller mirror .I stopped the procedure at that point, cleaned the area, again,& covered with a large waterproof bandage with a little bit of topical double antibacterial ointment . The syringe also gave me the extra reach I needed (& then some. Not only for the procedure but also helped apply the bandage).2-3 days after is when the marble sized growth formed over the mole I had irritated.I expect it was my body’s way of forming a protective barrier around the mole & would have eventually reabsorbed into my body. But I am a back sleeper. It was partially bursting and making a mess of my night shirts and the towels I was putting down to prevent any more stained sheets.Eventually ,the bursting/seeping subsided & the outer surface was thicker than before . If someone is actually reading this and wondering…My primary care provider was a great doctor. A older ,spry little Hungarian man. He was there when I needed him,& then the office was suddenly closed. I still DK what happened with him. I was referred to someone else, made an appointment & early the morning of my appointment, got a call saying that she “wouldn’t be in the office today”.Rescheduled, the same early morning, day of the appointment canceled appointment.3 in a row. Yet to meet new PCP.?.?Who knows.?.people?!?So,being a DIY personal physician,& noticing the point of attachment to my back seemed to have a undercut,I took a long piece of string(for embroidery I believe.?.multi stranded & all colors.similar to plain twine)made a cinch loop similar to 1st step of tying a shoe.Went over & under 3 times rather than just 1 like you do when trying a shoe lace .for additional friction,to help the 1/2 dollar sized loop Id fashioned with the string, stay open while I lowered it around the growth & pulled it tight. It does in fact sting a little.Left plenty of extra length so I could wrap it around my back & around my elbows while each end was wrapped around my hands. I tightened it as much as I could stand, bandaged, and used a piece of medical tape to keep the extra string coiled up and on my shoulder. So I would be able to cinch it tighter every couple of days or so and hopefully not accidentally get string snagged on anything. I did accidentally pull 1 of the 2 ends right after finishing the initial diy banding..a couple retightening as much as I could tolerate/rebandaging ect-5-6 days later it partially dried up (into more of a butter bean shape & the whole thing, string and all came off with the bandage the last time I was going to clean it check it. Im glad it turned out ok. & original small mole is also gone. The functionality of anatomies..Bovine,human or other…. Pretty cool stuff. The End!
Would have been easier to remove if it was a lipoma as they don't have blood supply it's just a fat cell on steroids but if it's a cancer then ya you don't want to cut it.
@@alistairclement4239well as long as she doesn’t injure herself i.e. on some equipment it should be fine IF it is a lipoma because that’s only a problem of optics (depending on where it sits). But if it’s a melanoma, congratulations you just caused it to spread even more than it would have if left alone and will grow metastatic tumors throughout the poor cows body… those were the two suggestions regarding the kind of tumor in the video.
I mean even though he hit that thing up with lidocaine it is painful. I just recovered from having a punch biopsy and mole excized from my shoulder. It hurt like a MF no joke.
please update us in1 week and 2 weeks to se progress . i know it might be allot travel for you but i really would like to see progress i am sure many other viewers would like to see updated progress , i personally think there could be some infection in this case
So, why don’t cattle go super septic when you stick farm supply wire in them? I know they live in poop and are really tolerant of things that kill humans, but why? How?
