@Ali Sanga injured himself He only keep for 3-4 years before getting tired from keeping in test That's the reason prasana Jayawardena was SL regular test wicketkeeper
As an Indian (specifically a hyderabadi), Gilchrist was one man who was universally adored by opposition and home fans alike ! When He captained Deccan Chargers in the IPL and won the second edition we went ballistic here in Hyderabad. I remember the congratulatory giant billboard was not touched for nearly a year...
Best wicket keeper batsman ever for me, i know sanga has scored huge volume of runs but Gilchirst has achieved alot including 3WC's, first man to hit 100 sixes in tests etc despite playing so much less cricket than sanga, dhoni etc
Just look at the bowlers he is hitting sixes against, Waqar Yonus, Flintoff, James Anderson, Murlidharan, Anil Kumble, Shoaib Akhtar on and on and on .... Moral of the story : Gilchrist is a Legend
Gilly a real match winner. Infact whole of Australian team 1996 till 2007 was a champion and each player was a match winner. Lots of love and respect to Australian team from Pakistan.
33 International Centuries (30 Wins, 2 Draws, 1 Loss in test) 906 International Dismissals 15000 international runs 262 International Sixes Complete Destruction of all Specialist keepers careers.. Captained Australia to Test Series win India 2004. IPL win with Deccan chargers as captain. Is in atleast 70% of anyones Dream XI.
I think my favourite Gilchrist shot is the on-drive six, like the first one in this compilation. There was always something so visually pleasing about it.
He is one of those wicket-keeper batsman who taught the cricket world and inspired them with his impeccable power-hitting playing in the top-order.Every six he smashed over the ropes was watchable.
💯From India, He is my all time favourite cricketer of all time to watch . Fearless attacking batsman & what a great player he is. Absolute real & evergreen legend of the game Gilly . He always smashed opponents and performed in big games be it in league cricket or world cups or be it in test match . Sets the tone with his fearless batting and lift the team with his batting . Really enjoyed him bat ,big match player 💯
@@balajibalajii8093 I was very sad that Australia lost the semi final . I was very eagerly waiting for the final match between nz and aus.but that's what life is . I really hope that australia return to their supremacy
@@muthuchelvam6751 Bro actually Wc 2019 is success for Australia remember in Jan 2019 many people told Australia won't reach semifinals of that edition but they are the first team to reach 19 WC SF the only thing that hurt me is they have saved the worst in semifinal they didn't fight at all in that match which raised eyebrows and also Australia astonishing record in semifinal had been broken but something is going to end sometime. let's hope Australia win 23 Wc and also we can't say Everytime Australia have won 5 wc so they have to win that Wc and maintain their standard in odi Wc.
@@balajibalajii8093 well bro I think they must win in the upcoming t20 wc in india because in 50 overs they have nothing to prove to anyone because they are the best team in 50 overs and test history but if you take t20 format it's quite contrasting so I need them to win the upcoming t20 wc win india to take their dominance to another level.
A cricketer with zero haters and being Captain of Australia he won the test series at India (Aus won by 3-1) which neither Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting has achieved. Humble human with no ego and a team man, a true champion
This was the time when every boundary was nearly 90m long and Gilly was so destructive he used to hit these beasty sixes with ease.. he revolutionised the game of cricket
What pains me most is when people talk about modern day greats of limited overs cricket, they almost always exclude mighty Gilchrist from the discussion. He is definitely in top 5 greatest openers of last 30 years.
By far the best smyter of a cricket ball there has ever been, a genuine match winner time and again, imagine his record if he didn’t have to focus on keeping as well
He is one of the deadliest batsman in world cricket that I have even enjoyed watching him hitting my favourite bowlers Zahir & Bhajji.... Love from India🌹
@Joshim Taher Gilchrist shouldn't be compared with Mccullum obviously but Mccullum was no home track bully. He has scored runs in India and UAE in test cricket. Also he was a pretty powerful hitter himself
And now they have won 2 icc tournament within a span of 3 years(2021 t20 wc and 2023 wtc final)😂😂 You can't keep aus team long from winning an icc tournament such is their dominance
Well what an amazing golden diamond era this used to be with Left handed batsmen consisting of Sanath , Gilly, Anwar , Hayden , Dada & a lot of guys but the kind of fluency that Gilly use to generate while whacking use to be simply phenomenal & mind blowing.
Imagine gilly and haiden are openers and one down ricky... This top order is destroying the bowlers once upon a time...🔥🔥🔥🔥 It's like a Sachin,Ganguly and Dravid top order ✌️😍
