I can hear my dad "This is why we always wear life vests." Dad was a bit paranoid about them, but he was in the Navy and worked with the fire dept for a while. I guess he dealt with a lot of accidents that went bad because of no safety gear, so he had a right to be worried. It's all fun and games until it's not.
Hey, never know how far out you're going to be or the tides & currents. You could be out there for a good minute and treading water for even ten minutes is near impossible.
WHOA! I so appreciate that these two courageous young brothers went immediately into "save mode", potentially putting themselves in peril as they used their own boat to rescue the two men who ended up in the water. I pray the poor Whale🐳is alright... apparently he was injured as he left torn skin & blubber behind on the boat onto which he accidentally breached. Poor thing. 😢 God bless all involved.😇 [7.23.2024]
The whale has been feeding there for a while now. Others have posted videos. People need to give it room. Hope the whale is not too injured from the boat. The good thing is the river must be healthy, that there are enough fish for the whales to come in and feed.
maybe not enough so they seek out the boats. here are good videos to see. TheShepherdsChapelChannelyoutube. Select search that. Find the official one. Then look at the playlist.
Spoken like someone who has never been on a boat near a whale feeding. That whale could have last been spotted 100-200 yards away then popped up out of nowhere and landed on the boat. When whales breach feed like this they can not see what is on the surface because they are coming up at full speed from under a thick school of menhaden with their mouth wide open that blocks the view of boats/things above. The guy on the boat might not have been close to where he last saw the whale surface at all. I have drifted with and fished a school of menhaden for 2 hours with no sign of a whale and had one suddenly breach right next to me on multiple occasions.
@@jamespelletier5129 Well thanks buddy. Clearly in the short video you can see there are 4 boats within 100 yards. ( probably more not in the vid) Call me crazy but you know they all knew it was in that area. Whale sitings are like a magnet for boaters!
Exactly. This is why in Canada we have rules about how far you have to stay away from whales .... Which is a kilometre (1.7miles). Tourists think it's for the whales safety. Locals know if it's for everyone's safety.
@@Shiva8t8 My first thought was very similar. That was "He had no business out there anyway. Man is always intruding the animals' habitat." Learn from Steve Irwin.
@@leticiaarevir9938there is another part, in another part it showed them saving the people on the capsized boat with one of those people wearing a life vest
Teenagers often aren’t mature enough to be out on the open water on a powerboat. Nor do often they have the experience in life yet to know what to do when others are in trouble. These kids responded. Well done!
Good for the whale! I wish this more common. Nature has absolutely no choice but to fight back. We have pushed here into a corner and have ignored all of her warnings. We don't deserve this planet, and the planet and all of the animals and nature deserve better
lmao are you restarted? Whales swim under the water and can cover massive distances. These fishermen were simply fishing. What do whales? Eat fish. Nothing about this was intentional. No one did anything wrong. The last time the whale could have been spotted could have been half a mile away. This is just a rare unintentional accident.
other experienced, ocean-going fisherman have given their insights in response to other comments on this vid. , incl. that whales may come up suddenly by you when you may have seen them quite a few hundred feet or yards away minutes b4, or had been there for 2 hours with nary a sign of whales. I just recently watched a pair of ducks on a lake just disappear for several moments then - finally caught them by the 3rd time in time to see one come up - QUITE a ways away. I had not realized ducks could or would do that, and was surprised. So, I can just imagine how much comparatively further a whale can do the same thing.
I don’t think the boaters are yelling out any WHALES OUT HERE FEEDING IF THERE IS SAY I” or maybe that’s what the boater was doing? Well this whale responded and said I❤❤❤❤
That is why there are rules to keep a minimum distance from whales and their pods. Did you think someone was simply messing with your rights? Apparently whales believe they have rights too and will fight to keep them.
Yep , it's just like your private property. Whales have it also. What happens if someone goes onto your private property and disturbs you... Well disturbed the whale obviously. Poor little fishers Lol..
Th whale hit th engine & totaled it. Th boat is Davy Jones's now. Th guy was upset he lost th bait & a whole lot of fishing gear. I find it amazing that in the whole big ocean, a whale can still hit a boat.
You could see the fear in that kids face. I've been fishing out in the open Pacific several times in my life and I always had the thought of something like this happening in the back of my mind. It shows how small we truly are. Enter the ocean and you're no longer at the top of the food chain.
Sea creature's are so amazing creature's The Sea belongs to all Sea creature's sometimes we go into their house and forget we don't belong there as beautiful as it is its their home God creature's are wonderfully made
Great video in that it shows how the whale managed to capsize the boat. Clear picture and steady camera. By great, I refer to the camera work, and obviously, it is also very sad that someone's boat was flipped over and at least one person went into the water. But there is nothing noted about any survivors, or worse.
It was an accident! The whale did not attack the boat. It was a collision between a whale 100% focused on feeding, and a dead fishing boat in the water (making no noise). In the video you can see schools of fish jumping out of the water, and out of the expanded mouth of the whale.
