Awww, I'm so glad Pepper is staying with you guys permanently! He & Happy are too cute together ❤️ Everything looked delish, thank you so much for sharing!!
I GUARANTEE that ur Granny is SOOOO❤ proud of you! I too lost my closest ever sweet Granny when I was 13. She was also the best cook and turned me into a foodie. Her specialty was hand-made, rolled out on the counter, flour ALL OVER the place, left to dry out under tea towels all night, cook for 2 hours the next day dumplings. I suffered through the next five years of my family trying to recreate her masterpiece with everything from tortillas to canned biscuits. Since I had been at her elbow nearly every time she made them for 13 years, I knew it was my turn to get them right. Now 30+ years later, we have a tried and true substitute for what no one will ever be able to copy perfectly. But it is delicious and a wonderful compliment when my family asks for them to be brought to every event and have said they could swear they were the same as hers. It is a nice trip down memory lane and so comforting to eat them and think back. I'm sure you felt the same with your Granny's spaghetti chili. It is a southern 'thang' I believe (as well as other regions probably for the ease and availability as well as stretching the meal) but whoever came up with it was a genius 😊. It is yummy! God bless you girlie and keep on cooking 😊
So thrilled you get to keep Pepper! I love seeing Happy and Pepper together and thankful they bonded so well. Keep up the good work! LOVE the Olive Garden gnocchi soup too - thanks for this recipe! ❌⭕️
Yay for Pepper staying with y’all! I’ll have to look and see if my Walmart sells that biscuit mix, I loved Jim and Nicks when I went to one in Georgia. That tortellini looks amazing!
Happy that Pepper was able to fit in and stay with y'all!🤗 ALL of the meals you've prepared look Soooo Tasty!😋 Love how you have lots of variety with your meals!☺️
Yay so happy you were able to keep Pepper! BTW nothing wrong having quick and easy. There are just some days when we don't want to or feel like cooking from scratch. Have a great week.
Hi Maegan👋👋👋 All the meals you shared look delicious, I’m looking forward to trying them all, the copy cat gnocchi soup is happening today😋 Happy & Pepper are soooo precious, seeing them all snuggled together made my heart smile, I’m so happy that Pepper is gonna be a permanent part of your family🙏 TYFS, I appreciate all you do to share👍 Have a peaceful and blessed day/week my friend♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️🐾🐾
Definitely a must to have the easy stuff on hand. Mmmm fresh peaches and peach jam. We do u-pick at a farm several times each summer and peaches are always one of my favorites. Your meals look delicious again this week. Some must tries there for us.
Also, I have acid reflux (GERD) that I take medication for and no gall bladder, so red sauce and I don’t get along too well. We started putting baking soda in all of our red sauces and it seems to help a lot.
Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy them! Yeah, my husband had his gallbladder removed a few years ago. That's why chili and sausage don't agree with him. Turkey or chicken sausage doesn't seem to bother him, so I use that most of the time, unless I'm just making something for me.
Hi Maegan. I’m so happy that you decided to keep Pepper. Happy is probably just what he needed . I’m glad they have formed a bond.🥰 I love the Chicken Gnocchi soup. I’ve made it a couple of times. I made your chicken pot pie recipe today. Delicious! Thanks for sharing.🤗💕
Glad to hear Pepper is staying. I just tried the OG Chicken gnoochi soup about a ninth ago too and I liked it but I think I’d like it even better with Italian sausage instead of chicken so I’m going to definitely give this recipe a try subbing the chicken with Italian sausage. 😊
All your recipes look delish. Definitely making the chili. It's so similar to my mother-in-law''s recipe. She only used whole tomatoes (hand crushed up) and no beans...used water for liquid. She did add spaghetti & lots of chili powder. She was from Western Kentucky.
If you are out of celery or you do not like texture in your soup, add a can of cream of celery soup. It adds great taste without a strong flavor or texture. It works great!
I just made this recipe, it's so good The Best Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy Recipe 1 cup chicken broth 3 tsp bouillon powder 1/2 tsp soy sauce 1 1/2 tsp onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 2 teaspoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1 teaspoon dried sage 1 teaspoon rosemary 1/4 cup cold water 4 Tablespoons corn starch 4 Tablespoons butter 4 to 6 frozen skinless chicken breasts mix water and cornstarch together add all ingredients except butter and chicken in crock pot mix thoroughly add frozen chicken into mixture slice butter to small pieces, placing on top of chicken cover with lid on high 2 to 3 hours, or low 5 to 6 hours (or until chicken internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.) Serve over rice or mashed potatoes can be baked in oven on 350 degrees F. for about 3 hours 😋😷💚
Everything lokked really good especially the teriyaki dinner at the end. I don't know if i had forgotten or just didn't see you do the carrots and broccoli before. Definitely going to share with my sons so i can have some. They are my cooks right now. As far as your grandma's chili i have 2 comments. Home canned tomato juice is a lot thinner than commercial. My grandma used to go as far as let it set for a while to let it seperate while canning. Then can what she would call thin juice and thick juice. When we went after canned juice she would specify thin or thick and you would look at the jars of juice in the pantry and look for mor or less of the tomato settled to the bottom. Thin she used for soup bases and roasts thick for other. there was no water in there so it was all juice and tomato flavored. I don't know what it was about the spaghetti in chili. I'm 69 and we used to get just about that much spaghetti in our chili lunches in grade school. Mom thought it was a school thing she never heard of it before when i came home from school and told her. I'm originally from north Central ohio. Sorry so long!
I didn't think about that, but you're totally right. I think that's why I felt like I remembered her chili was a little thinner than mine was. I didn't think about the canned versus home canned. Thank you!
Now there is a specific reason why granny would crush the whole tomatoes.there is a chemical reaction between your hand and the tomatoes.it takes away the reason why people put sugar in tomatoes for any dish. You can buy whole canned tomatoes.
Now i hate celery its to peppery for me but i do cook with it. I cut it up super fine almost to the point it looks like i used i garlic grader orvi use celery seed..i also have a child who doesn't mind eating onions and bell peppers as long as i super mince it for him
That's the only way I've been able to eat it. Here in the past couple months I've tried it in a couple things and actually enjoyed it. But, I basically had to pulverize it in a food processor 😆
