Just wanted to comment and say I've never watched a pd video before or any from your channel but this was on my RU-vid front page and I found it pretty interesting! Glad RU-vid is pushing smaller creates forward
I had the advantage of working for a year prior to the academy. I learned a lot that way. So much of the academics came easily to me. Honestly a lot of it is basic common sense with a little legal knowledge thrown in. If you pay attention in class, you’ll be fine
Hey man, love the videos. Please keep them coming! I just binged nearly every video on your channel lol. I have waited my entire life to become a police officer and just got the call the other day that I have been waiting for. Excited is an understatement, watching you make it look so easy gives me hope that I will do a good job. Because man have I been nervous. Stay safe brother !
Congratulations! I’m happy for you! I will warn you though that it is far from easy at times. But I do believe you will do well, simply because you seem to have the genuine desire to do the job. Keep your head up during training, and pay attention. It might be tough, but it won’t last forever. Thank you for signing up for the most unique job on the planet
Hey there, I just started watching your content. You have a very nice demeanor as an officer...and as a human in general, it's nice to see this. My nephew is a city cop in Baltimore and I have had friends who were LEO in southern California when I lived there. I have asked all of them the same question in regards to how much ammo surplus they keep in their cruisers and I was shocked to hear how little they have. In Baltimore City, my nephew told me there are not allowed to keep unlimited amounts of mags w/ammo in their trunks. Similar to the one's in Cali. If I were a street cop I would want at least 500 rounds loaded in mags for the AR15 and about 200 rounds in mags for the side arm. My Cali cop friends explained that if they are on a call where shots are being fired there's usually multiple officers responding but if shtf and you are solo during a serious situation involving shots being fired I would want a tac vest loaded out with no less than 300 rounds of 556. Hopefully you are permitted to carry in your cruiser as much as you desire...never have enough ammo!! God Bless ya man.
Thanks for the support and kind words! I can carry as much ammo as I want. I’d say I have more than most other officers because of my duties on SWAT and as a firearms instructor. I won’t say exactly how much, but I will say that my SWAT rig rides with me and it is fully equipped. All sergeants and lieutenants (one of each per shift) carry 15-20 loaded rifle magazines and about 30 9mm Glock magazines in ammo cans. This is meant to hold us until SWAT can respond. You wouldn’t believe your eyes if you looked at the ammo in the SWAT van😁
I love the content man, keep up the good work! I’ll be leaving for academy in a few months and just thought I’d let you know you’ve a huge inspiration threw out my recent journey. God bless you 🙏
I’ve seen in your other videos you drive explorers. So is this your normal patrol vehicle, or just like a to and from dept ride? Like for example your ride along video, you started in this and then went to explorer. Subscribed!
The caprice is what I had until my new explorer was ready. I would drive to and from work in the caprice and use a spare explorer for shift. I have my new one now
i love videos would be cool to see you review some dash cam videos or shootings and give your tatical perspective like donut operator does thank you and looking fword to seeing more vedeos
Thanks Michael! I appreciate that. I’ve thought about doing a donut style video. But if I say something wrong or something people don’t like it could put my career at risk
@@justapatrolman4246 I meant like the rifle and patrol bags set ups , but also don’t want to feel uncomfortable giving out to much information on what is carried and why
I don’t use a shotgun. It’s been a minute since I made that video but I think you’re referring to my big rolling gear duffel. It has my plate carrier, “battle belt”, helmet, knee pads, extra SWAT uniform, spare magazines for rifle and pistol…that kind of stuff
Hey officer! If someone has a history of taking Trenbolone (anabolic steroid) will it affect their eligibility to join the force? asking for a friend of course 😁
Tell your friend that if they can pass a drug test (and can pass many many more in the future), and they are honest and up front about it, it likely won’t hurt too much
I’ll do a short video on this. A lot of people are wondering. Until then, here’s the short answer. Do aerobic and circuit workouts. If you can do an intense workout for thirty minutes to an hour, you’ll do fine in the academy. You’ll also do some long distance running. I only ran two miles, but I’ve heard of other people running four or more. Get prepared to sit in class for long periods of time and actually listen. Just know you’ll have to study a little. Does this help?
@@justapatrolman4246 Super.
