Hello, all! I have to be honest with you…I have absolutely NO idea what I'm doing on RU-vid. I suppose it's really an experiment more than anything else. I'm just a regular guy with many interests. These include family, music, knives, wristwatches, firearms, cars, and my ever-growing faith in God. I have never really put myself in any sort of spotlight, nor do I see myself as being important enough to be in one;)! It’s difficult for me to make job related content because of regulations at my current department. This is unfortunate because that type of content is how this channel started. We shall see where this goes, if anywhere past my imagination. Thank you all for taking the time to view this channel, and God bless.
If you have any ideas or questions for me, please don’t hesitate to comment in videos and I will be sure to get back to you at my earliest convience! Thank you!
Looking to become a cop soon and I was wondering how I could prepare for the academy. I know I need to run but do you have any tips regarding the physical aspect of it. Also, running isn’t my strong suit so do you have any suggestions to improve running?
It all depends on what academy you go to, as far as how physical it is. Do circuit workouts where you move from one thing to another quickly. If you can do a somewhat intense circuit workout then you can pass the academy. Running sucks for me too. It’s in the breathing. Quality breaths rather than quantity of breaths. Fill your lungs and push all the air out. Don’t pant like a dog would. That works for me but it may not for you. The rest of the academy is a lot of classroom stuff with practicals built around what you’ve learned. It’s a lot like senior classes in high school or early college classes (except with guns and handcuffs and ground fighting mixed in). You’ll have to pay attention and study in your off time. We had a test at the end of each week. So just mentally prepare for that and do your workouts and running. I’ll do a video on this subject with a coworker so we can give some more in death information. If you have questions along the way or while you’re in the academy let me know
Hahaha! Why would he tell you that? Unfortunately there’s only one way to get better. That is to write reports and have them sent back to you. Actually try and retain the nit picks so you can do better on the next report. But you’ll get it, I’m confident
Nad moim imieniem mam dwie pinezki. jedna to nagroda strzelca pistoletowego, którą dostałem w akademii. drugi to trójząb do broni specjalnej i taktyki (SWAT).
@@justapatrolman4246 Super.
@@justapatrolman4246 Thanks for the info . Now I need to learn the written test and correct grammar in order to pass the test. since English is not his native language
@@justapatrolman4246 Hi man ! Tanks . but sometimes I type through a translator. I'm not worried about the physical tests to get into the academy since I'm a gymnast. He worked a lot in the company in the Cirque du Soleil show. And now I decided to try to apply to the police academy. But first I want to learn for myself what exact exams are needed, what is related to grammar and writing. I'm thinking of buying some kind of course to learn a little. And then apply to the academy. I myself have been living in Las Vegas for almost 12 years now, with my family. And I read a lot and watched programs about police officers, and I really want to become one. But I'm still looking for what tests I should buy to pass the exams. Because these exam tests may be different in each state.
@magnet_rusmagnet7473 you’re correct, the tests may differ between states. As long as you’re good enough with English to understand concepts, then you’ll do fine in the academy. All material needed to pass the tests will be provided in class. The academy is a lot like late high school or early college classes. You don’t need to buy your own study material. Just listen in class, take notes, and study and you will pass the tests…I promise. Now, as far as practical use of English, you will need to be understood when you’re speaking over the radio. You’ll need to be able to speak English while multitasking (talking on the radio while driving and looking at a GPS for example). You’ll need to be able to understand English on the fly (like muscle memory). For this, I suggest PRACTICE 😁. That’s the only way. You can absolutely become a police officer if you want to. It will be challenging…but you’re a gymnast. You like challenges! If Nevada doesn’t take you, Louisiana will!
@user-jy2qp8gp2l nie wszystkie agencje policyjne mają ten sprzęt, ale większość tak. Chętnie dowiem się o Twoich doświadczeniach z polską policją!! Jeśli kiedykolwiek pojedziecie do Luizjany w USA, proszę, przyjedźcie na przejażdżkę not all police agencies here have this equipment, but most do. I would love to hear about your experiences with the polish police!! If you ever travel to Louisiana, USA, please come do a ride along
@@justapatrolman4246 Dziękuję za zaproszenie. Ale Polska to biedny kraj i nie stać mnie na dalekie podróże. Z fimów wiem, że USA to piękny kraj i wspaniali ludzie. Pozdrawiam
@user-jy2qp8gp2l I completely understand. I also cannot afford to travel. I’ve never left the USA. I think most Americans try to be good people. And yes, it is beautiful here. The land changes as you move across the USA because the country is so large. I would love to visit poland
I know you guys want more ride alongs and such. I have to be careful and not push the policy too much and get into trouble. I do have plans to do a knife collection part two with my son and his knives. Not police related but it’ll be full length. I’ll be doing a unit tour with a friend of mine. And I’ll be answering viewer questions in another video. More to come, it just may not all be police related.
Thank you! I really appreciate the support and interest. I’ll be making some videos for you guys. They may not necessarily be LE related, but they’ll be interesting I hope. And hopefully you guys understand and won’t mind.
Oh my gosh, this officer is human, lol! To those who treat police like they don’t have personalities, a heart, a life and are out just to make everybody’s lives miserable that is not the case. You are a very funny, enjoyable person to watch. Thank you for making a video!
Yes, but only under certain circumstances. If the complainant is out of state or something like that. Otherwise we prefer to have their statement and our actions in response recorded in video and audio. It makes the situation better for everyone. Good question
@sudipmukherjee3134 I’m not completely sure what you’re asking😅. Are you asking if a report someone is mentioned in will show up in a background check on them? If so, the answer is no. The only thing that shows up would be some sort of criminal history if there is one. If you’re mentioned in a police report as a witness or complainant then, no it will not show up on an employment background check.
Hello. I recently applied for a local police department and I passed the first segment but I am still on-hold for the next review. (Two reviews of the application, and some others for the background) I was told that I wrote a lot for the responses, but there was more quantity over quality. If my application here doesn't get accepted I plan on trying state police. Any suggestions?
Well I can only speak for Louisiana. Our state police require prior patrol experience AND/OR a college degree. So you’d have to have one of those before even being considered. If it’s similar in your state, I would try other local departments. You don’t have to work where you live. Be careful with sheriffs offices though. You may end up working in a jail. If your state police doesn’t have those requirements, then by all means go for it. I will say that as a trooper you’re going to be working a ton of traffic related stuff and not a lot of other types of things.
Cool video! When you aren't recording is there a specific music type that you enjoy listening to or do you just listen to the radio? Thanks for your service.
Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed it! I have a music playlist of youre interested. I’ll usually put it on shuffle. Be warned, I have a strange taste in music lol. I also listen to audiobooks while I’m riding around
Thanks for what you do to keep everyone safe! Do you guys have 8 or 12 hour shifts? Just wondering since I have a friend who is a Police Officer in Pennsylvania and he works 8.
