Anthony and Isaac, with the Civil PE Exam going to CBT in 2022, what would you rate the difficulty of each depth exam? Also, the PE Civil Reference Handbook (Version 1.0) by the NCEES contains the following number of pages: Construction 30, Geotechnical 154, Structural 31, Transportation 25, Water Resources and Environmental 195. Would it be a safe assumption that the difficulty of the depth exam will correlate to the amount of material in the Reference Handbook?

Matthew, this is just an educated guess based on some parts of the video, the number of pages doesn't correlate with difficulty as shorter sections require additional codes to reference.

Anthony and Isaac, thank you for video. I just received an email from NCEES and I passed FE civil exam. and I have to decide which disciplines to take . Thank you again.

Can you do a video similar to it but for Mechanical Engineers ?

For me the hardest is water resources

Do you think it is ok to switch disciplines? I failed the Construction PE exam twice but I found most topics difficult in the depth portion due to not being very experienced in those sections. I am planning on taking PE transportation as it looks to be more in line with my experience.

Yes Ivan, but just check with your State. In some states, the discipline in which you take the exam does not matter, however, in some states you may have to practice within the discipline you choose.

Is that Water Resources and Environmental? or Only Water Resources?
@kindaconservativeengineer2902

Its both. A lot of environmental stuff like BOD, chemistry, sediment control, etc

Coming from someone who took water resources and failed the water resources is not the problem it is the environmental part that got me and was very hard for me. The actual water resources yes isn't that bad.

I have for more than 10 years the GENERAL ENGINEERING AND GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTORS LICENSE AND ALSO MY BACK GROUND IS LIKE A CIVIL ENGINEER AND MASTER IN DANITARU ENGINEERING GRADUATED ABROAD WHAT IS YOUR RECOMENDATION
@PassthePEExam
@PassthePEExam Год назад
Based on your information, I would recommend that you take the PE exam in the Civil Engineering - Construction discipline. This discipline is designed for engineers who have experience in the design, construction, and inspection of civil engineering projects. Your experience as a General Engineering and Building contractor would be a great asset in this discipline. Here are some of the topics that you will need to be familiar with for the Civil Engineering - Construction PE exam: *Principles of structural analysis *Construction materials *Construction methods *Construction safety *Construction contracts *Construction law You can find more information about the Civil Engineering - Construction PE exam on the website of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). All the best!

Is PE Civil Structural different than PE Structural?
@PassthePEExam
@PassthePEExam 6 месяцев назад
@danielarredondo9593 There is some confusion when it comes to the terms "PE Civil Structural" and "PE Structural," and it's understandable! Here's what you need to know: Similarities: Both refer to Professional Engineer licenses within the field of civil engineering. Both require passing relevant exams and meeting experience requirements. Both allow you to stamp drawings and offer engineering services to the public. Differences: PE Civil Structural: This is a depth exam offered within the broader PE Civil exam. It focuses specifically on structural engineering topics like loads, analysis, design, and materials. Passing this exam makes you a PE with a specialty in structural engineering, but not necessarily a licensed Structural Engineer (SE). PE Structural: This is a separate exam and licensure process from the PE Civil exam. It is typically more rigorous and focused on advanced structural engineering concepts. Passing this exam and meeting additional requirements makes you a licensed Structural Engineer, with broader recognition and potential for higher specialization. In other words: PE Civil Structural: A specific qualification within the PE Civil realm, focused on structural engineering but not a separate license. PE Structural: A distinct license with higher specialization and recognition in structural engineering. Which one to pursue depends on your career goals: If you want to work on general civil engineering projects with some structural elements, PE Civil Structural might be sufficient. If you want to focus solely on structural engineering and hold yourself out as a specialist, pursuing the PE Structural license is recommended. I hope this clarifies the differences between these two designations!

@@PassthePEExam This response could have not been any clearer! Thank you so much. I want to add that the PE Structural, based on your explanation, is often referred to as "the SE exam".

Is it possible to take PE exam from Bangladesh having Bangladeshi Engineering degree??
@PassthePEExam
@PassthePEExam Год назад
If you are based in Bangladesh and have a Bangladeshi engineering degree, it is unlikely that you would be able to take the PE exam in the United States unless you are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or hold a work visa that allows you to work as an engineer in the United States. However, there may be similar licensure exams available in Bangladesh or other countries that you may be eligible to take. You should research the licensure requirements for engineers in Bangladesh to determine what exams are available and what the requirements are for taking them. It's important to note that licensure requirements for engineers can vary significantly from country to country, so it's important to research the specific requirements for the country or region in which you intend to practice engineering.
