The Market you went is not a Village market, but a small town market. The empty market you saw your on way could be a village market. Also that empty market you saw is actually a weekly market, where commerce takes place once a week. And that week is 4 days, the traditional weeks of most ethnics in southern Nigeria (Yoruba, Egbo, Edo, etc), before Arab and Europeans came with their 7 days week. Most of traditional weekly market still go on 4 days week, but some might have changed to conventional 7 days week. Your collaboration with Nigeria to the World is one of best collaboration yet. I love and love everything you put out on Akwa Ibom. For me, your feature on Akwa Ibom rural life is your best work yet. I am a 75 (almost 76) Lagos origin (but resident in North America)

Their authorities should help and teach how to put up stalls. Handling food is very serious. I am here in Guinea Conakry in a small town i voluntered with the help of students to put up stalls, clean the market at the end of the day and even teach the community hygien. Believe me we have less diseases that was caused by lack of hygien.

It's like Kenyans like Avocado. Avocado is good for the heart but most Nigerians like sweet fruits. You also won't get to see the soft Avocados in the market because it spoils easily so they cut them when it's almost ripe.
