UPS with backup battery for power outages is very good idea, if the potential power outages happen often. But remember to make sure the battery in the UPS is beefy enough to run the computer at least 30 mins with usual power draw so you can save everything in time.

I lived in Yokosuka and we could rent a nice 3ldk apartment fully furnished, heated floors and free internet for about $1300 and since we worked with an American company we didn’t have to deal with work visas/resident cards(I had no Japanese id) and no Japanese taxes just the US.

You should review the shinkansen, and that way show more than just Tokyo! :D

Jokes on you, the video already doxxed estfoxie. When you opened the curtain we can see clearly the lights from the neighboring buildings which is only unique for one area of Tokyo. Using the reflection that shows back in the room, you can enhanced to see the stains on the wall that shows the age of the building. Using all the government data available, including GIS and Cell Phone tower maps, I was able triangulated the location, to the floor, to the room... that quite honestly a 4th grader could perform too.

They have to inform you if any of the last two tenants died in the apartment. Not sure if you have to ask about it or if they just tell you. At least it was that way when I looked for an apartment in osaka almost 10 years ago

You don't understand share houses, they are not booking or other sites, they have their own, and you rent a room or sometimes a whole apartment from them, some of them have roommates, some of them are single rooms. And they cater for long time stays.
