What a £10,000 Bike Build Actually Cost Me 

First time I've been named on a video - it's nice to have 15 seconds of fame! And now you have explained it I understand completely. I would still like you to do the comparison if you still have the bike when Mallory has a trackday and you are in the country but I shan't hold my breath😁

The problem with a track bike build is you'll always loose money. That bike owes you 10k but worth less as a track bike now than you paid for it as a road bike. Its cheaper to buy a good spec trackbike and get its refreshed

Would love to see more tips and techniques for riding on track. Maby one on one teaching a new track rider and seeing improvement

To be fair you made it all quite clear throughout, the 'ways and whyfores' etc, including why it was not going to be anywhere near as it was originally planned...so hats off for having a good giggle about explaining things as much as you did 😆...As an ex club racer, and continued track day rider I have become very adept at 'bastardizing' many a bike part, particularly exhaust hangers! The exhaust hanger is a perfectly acceptable fabrication, and a good job (I bet if it had been sprayed black no one would have batted an eye)...Have enjoyed the vids completed throughout, and this particular project...look forward to seeing what ideas you have in the future, keep up the good work 💪🇬🇧

I think this would have worked better if the budget was 5 grand all in and use an insurance cat N to start with. But I know with your commitments with moto3 this would be impossible. I started building my track bike in December thinking it would be ready for this season but that’s not going to happen. hopefully see you at knockhill next year.😂

Still seems expensive to me, and I would keep the road bits to put back to stock when wanting to sell again. Really like TMs videos, but not sure this was a successful project and not sure why it had to be rushed. My GSXR 750 is a generation before TMs and cost me under half the budget for the complete project. It took a lot more time, but has TC, QS, upgraded brakes, and still has 135 rwhp.

Would be an interesting video taking the bike an letting the ruroc guy ride the bike. See how much he could improve lap to lap. You obvs are an professional rider give us novice riders something to relate too 😂

What company makes those fairings on that bike?

A better budget trackday bike would of been a minitwin or cb500, could build a sweet one for 10k. And be fun to see a professional racer giving big bikes a headache on track.

Why, for a track day bike, can't you buy a smaller bike and add some PSI to the combustion chamber? I know it's not legal (yet) to race one, but a 500-4 with a crank driven blower would be like the old days of the 2 stroke 500. Maybe better as a blower is more linear than the powerband on a smoker. For FUN that's why!

You didn't factor external labor in there. Paying a mechanic to do all the work is going to add a LOT to the total.

The plan was great but this series crashed and burned. Disassembling a bike and then realizing that you don't have parts to build it up is one of the lamest excuses 🤣 asking for tips and completely ignoring them didn't help either 🤦‍♂️

I say this as a fan of you Taylor, I don’t think Ruroc have moved the channel on in the way that was maybe hoped for? The videos you’ve done on your own are miles better. You 2 are sitting 3 ft apart and you’re using 1 mic? I understand they brought budget to this project but I’d see how it goes doing the R6 with dad & Taz, it will be better than having these guys involved. Not a criticism, just honest feedback 👍🏻

Just shave it off Taylor. There’s no shame in looking like your dad, just accept the inevitable.

How did this bike cost £10,500? I’m doing a build series on my channel at present and I am hoping to bring it in at or around that figure and I have every imaginable extra you could ever wish for! Please check it out if you have time it’s called “from salvage to superbike”👍👌

Taylor, you didn't put this together for £10,600. You *spent* £10,600 but you had access and the time of professionals (plus dyno runs) who probably added about another £2,000 "cost" to the project had you actually had to pay them for their services. And the ordinary bloke does not have access to those people if they run into the problems that you had. You should try this again with the current L-series GSX-R750 (2011-2024) and doing all the work yourself with only one non-professional mechanic as a helper. And still the £10,000 limit. Somebody else commented that you could also have started with a bike that was already setup as a trackbike or racebike and done it for less (maybe for less, but probably with fewer issues). And, *please* do a proper inspection before purchasing the bike! Also: please stop using the handheld microphone, it blocks your face, looks like you're reporter, and is awkward when having to get the audio from someone else speaking in the video. You can buy a couple of clip-on-style mics for cheap that will do a good job. Oh, also: you hardly showed video with the entire motorcycle in view! That was the star of this episode (and the last) and you barely displayed it.

Sorry but to me the series was a bit of a disappointment, that’s it .

No wonder Taylor Mackenzie is not racing bike's anymore, you don't seem to take anything seriously.
