Let me break it down for ya - So the goal is to get around all the bases and back to home plate to score a point. Sometimes you hit it not super far and you just make it to like say 1st base. So when the next guy comes up to bat, and he hits it really far, you gotta start running again to get to another base or try and get all the way to home plate to score. BUT, if the ball gets caught that means the guy who hit the ball is out. Then the player who was ahead of him and started running, has to run BACK to the base he was on. That's just the rule. So sometimes you see a person catch the ball in the outfield and then whip it back in super fast cause they're trying to get the other guy out before he can get back to his base. That's when you see some crazy plays too where they can get multiple people out.
the ones you love where they run up the wall are called home-run robs. If the ball goes over the fence the batter gets to score an automatic run and everyone on base scores too. The others, like diving catches, are just amazing because those balls are flying at like 80 mph (128 kph), so the speed it takes to get there and the skill to make the grab is what's impressive. Love the vid man keep it up!
The dirt along the walls is the warning track. When the guys are running towards the wall they'll hear and feel the difference so they know they're close. That way they can stay focused on the ball.
