Batroun, Lebanon ➖ What does a MILLION Get You in Lebanon?
I wanted to see how far 1,000,000 Lebanese Lira goes as a tourist here in Lebanon. The official bank rate of Lebanese Lira to USD is 1507 LBL = $1USD. But by going through the black market I was able to get 20,500 for every dollar. Meaning that for just $50USD you can be a millionaire here in Lebanon.
To counter the Batroun heat, we first visited Hilmi's lemonade and freshened up with their famous lemonade and lemon cookies. We then found ourselves in the back of a Tuk Tuk roaming around the streets of Batroun before heading up into the mountains to see one of the most amazing views I've seen. We finished the evening off with a bit of Lebanese shisha and then hung out with some friends down in Jounieh.
