Stayed at Zaina in the fall of 2020 and I can confirm Andrew and his team are doing a great job with this establishment. Aside from the serenity of the environment, I thought the professionalism of the staff was remarkable. Ghana struggles with customer service so we were pleasantly surprised to see that narrative completely debunked at Zaina.

I was there Jan 2020 for 3 days. ❤ I will NEVER forget them. The chef David is just absolutely amazing. I have food intolerances. He'd come every morning to update me about what he has for breakkie, lunch and dinner. It is expensive, but it is worth every penny. ❤

I love the Thatched roofs. That should be our signature feature on all our government buildings throughout West Africa.(e.g. show me a random picture of a government building anywhere else in the world and I could probably tell you if it is from Europe, America or Asia but in Africa, we simply mimic the European style.) We should embrace the thatched roofs.

I met the owner of the lodge (he's from DMV), and i told him in our conversation that I'm from Central to which he said folks from the south don't come to the north but the northerners go to the south very often. That made me think and come top the resolution to do something about that idea that some people have.

It's a beautiful place indeed. Very nice video 👍🏽 However it's a pity that tourism to West Africa is underdeveloped and expectedly so because of the prices. A lodge of comparable quality including 24/7 à la carte room service in Lamu or Zanzibar costs less than half. Even doing day trips to the national park from Nairobi costs only a fraction including a 4* hotel with half board. But well it's a nice start even though reserved to a rather loaded crowd.
