I still remember that draft. Giannis really did deserve to be where he was drafted since he was just raw potential at that point. I did believe he was going to become something eventually, but I had a very unpopular (or at least, uncared for) opinion. His first years spent outside of the spotlight did wonders for him to develop that raw talent in who he istoday.

not only because I also had multiple knee surgeries, I feel so bad for Oliadipo (such a hard worker, who could never fulfill his potential)... just shows how much of a role fortune/misfortune plays in every life

Ah yes, the draft of role players, specialists, and Giannis. Say what you want about the lack of superstar names here, but most of the players in this draft became key depth pieces in their primes. Some like Olynyk, Gobert, McCollum, and KCP are still finding gainful employment to this day.

As much as we make fun of Bennett's career, I think he's not the biggest bust in NBA history. This draft class is just weak (weakest in my opinion); no clear #1 pick and you can get a role player at best with the exception of Jauniss and 2023 World Cup MVP Schrodër.

Man, without Giannis/Gobert this would be right there with the 2000 draft as being the worst of all time.

I’ve still not given up on Tony snell and Michael carter Williams. Tony snell in 2k16 was one of the best 3pt shooters imo he was always on fire for me. I’m glad Tony is doing great things off the court. MCW can still give any bench a good warming and is a vet.
