What actually happened with the wish in the finale? 🤔 Miraculous Ladybug Season 5 🐞 

If Gabriel asked Marinete to not to tell the truth that means that the past memories are still there, otherwise she wouldn't have to lie because no one would remember.

the finale was just so chaotic, everything happened in a flash, everything just happened soooo suddenly like ladybug found out gabriel was monarch just like that, monarch found out marinette is ladybug/ladynoire/bugnoir and it was just pure chaos and confusing

As Sass explains it in "Ephemeral", the universe is literally erased from the point where something had to change for the Wish to be fulfilled, and then re-written. For Nathalie and/or Emilie to be unharmed by the peacock miraculous, Gabriel's wish must have been for the peacock miraculous to not be broken when they used it. As such, the universe was un-done and re-made from either the S2 finale, or from the flashback in "Evolution". (which also establishes that "fixing the peacock miraculous before Emilie used it" was the plan all along) The one thing that changed might've been that the butterfly miraculous broke instead, so HE would still be doomed the moment he started using it. If Emilie is alive, this means that neither she nor Nathalie grew ill and died because of the peacock miraculous. (and neither did Colt or whoever made Kagami, though this of course doesn't mean the new universe had them die in a different way) If Emilie never died then Gabriel's abuse of Adrien is unlikely to have happened (at least not to the extent it does in the old universe) and Adrien in fact lived a happy life with a father he had every reason to remember fondly. It leaves open the question of why Gabriel became Hawk Moth when the wife was still around, but this was by all accounts compeltely fine with the writers at a fairly late point in production ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I personally would like to not be Emilie because she herself accepted her death and didn't want to go back, also the other characters that always wanted Gabriel to move on and take care of his son who was still there instead of being stuck in the past.

Either Emilie reappeared at the time of the wish and everyone is oblivious, or the wish rewrote the universe in a way that Emilie was never hurt by the peacock miraculous, but in that case it’s not possible monarch existed as his motivation wouldn’t be there. All in all I just hope they give this a GOOD explanation and don’t gloss it over or leave us guessing forever.

That is Amelie. Here's why: Gabriel before making the wish said that he only wanted to change ONE thing and that he'd sacrafise himself for someone else. That couldn't have been Emilie, because than Nathalie would still be dead, but she's just fine as we see at the pool party. It makes sense that Gabriel brought back Nathalie, because Emilie herself said that she didn't wanted to be brought back and it's easier to believe that Nathalie made a "natural recovery". The theory where Gabriel wished for the peacock miraculous to never be broken is just wrong. That wish would've completely rewrite history. Gabriel never would've became Hawkmoth and the present would be very different, but obviously everyone remembers what Monarch/ShadowMoth/Hawkmoth had done. Not to mention that an another miraculous had to be broken.

I want it to be Amelie because it changes the entire message of the show and the finale. If it’s Amelie, then the idea here is to let go. Marinette says that Adrien learned to live on. Emilie didn’t want to be back, she wanted Gabriel and Adrien to live without her too. It’s the right choice. Gabriel was the only one who couldn’t let go and therefore for 5 seasons tried to bring back Emilie. The way I see it, Marinette convinced him finally and he makes the right choice in the end, letting go of Emilie and saving Nathalie. It’s very logical to me too. And if it’s Emilie, then Gabriel brings back someone who didn’t want to be back. He also sacrifices some lives which is something Emilie didn’t want. Adrien moved on yet he brings him Emilie back. And the only one who wanted her back was he himself, but Gabriel now can’t be with her cause he’s gone so what’s the point? So, if it’s Amelie, the writers are saying to us it’s ok to let go, sometimes you need to. And if it’s Emilie, then what is this story about? If you’re evil enough, you can succeed in bringing back someone who doesn’t want it? And if suddenly Gabriel is gone, Emilie is back and also Monarch is gone and still Adrien doesn’t suspect anything then I don’t even know... Gabriel said he only wanted to change one thing with his wish. So it’s something simple, not complicated. And I understand that the writers want us to wonder but Thomas tweets really make me think of Amelie. And he also says that fans are over complicating things. So yeah, I think it’s Gabriel for Nathalie. Sorry for the long comment... :)

From what I recall from the leaks I read in the past Gabriels wish was for a world that would make Adrien Happy, that explains why Pairs is so different, the Mansion has changed, and everyone except M has forgotten how awful Gab was in exchange for his life. As for the balance part, I believe that has to do with the mysterious entity that made Lila scream at the end and how I believe the next arc will go down. Gabriel wished for Adriens perfect world, however to balance this out a new evil has to enter the world and depending on how much Gabs wished changed things the next arc may become a horror show, in Lila’s lair there is a map of Paris and behind it is a painting of a tsunami symbolizing a wave of destruction is going to swallow the city thanks to Lila. I really feel that the next arc will slowly tear everything M slowly built up over the first arc because Paris is basically the exact opposite of what it was at the beginning of S1, M as all the hero’s including Felix on her side, Chloe is gone, and she and Adrien are finally together, I really can see her finally reaching the end of her Luck and taking some major loses. I would love to hear what you think about my theory.

One of the factors that convinces me that it's Emilie we're seeing and not Amilie is the way Nathalie is looking at her with so much affection in her eyes that I haven't seen her show when she looks at Amelie, especially since we know that Nathalie more or less has a thing for Emilie. So my guess is that this is definitely Emilie. As for the wish, I'd say the "conditions" around the wish are more cryptic than we thought and are mostly based on Gimmi's terms and not what we've believed are the terms, however the factor of *Equivalent Exchange* is some truth in the terms. If I had to guess, I'd say that Gabriel giving his life in the wish wasn't part of the payment but part of the request. Gabriel said *Read my heart* and *Read my soul* so the specifics of what he asked for and what he thought he paid with are cryptic. However, the main condition of the wish is that what is paid must be of equal measure to what is requested. Gabriel may have given his life but his soul was far too tainted by then to be the equivalent measure to Emilie unless you want to tell me that she is just as bad as Gabriel which she is not. So Gimmi most likely affected the life of the person who was connected to Gabriel in some way and bears equal value to Emilie and that person might be someone in Lila's life. Why do I think it's someone in Lila's life? Well the wish basically changes the script of how reality plays out and in the previous reality the butterfly miraculous was still believed to be in action for evil. So with the conflict of the villain not being fully resolved, it plays a part in the consequence of the wish meaning that a Hawkmoth will still have to exist and with the same motivation as the previous ones as it has now been passed on, or other forces will be needed to create the consequence in some way. So if there is someone that Lila actually cares about then they will be harmed by the wish and healing them will be Lila's motivation which will and more meaning to her hate for Ladybug because in a way Ladybug hadn't prevented it from happening thus making Lila want her gone even more. So Lila being the new Hawkmoth is basically her being part of the consequence of the wish and picking up a conflict factor concerning Hawkmoth that people thought was resolved but wasn't really resolved and won't be until Ladybug takes back the butterfly miraculous. So if I were to guess how the new reality works, I'd say that the memories were altered where in this one; *Everything in the Hawkmoth to Shadowmoth to Monarch arc still happened but Emilie never went missing which is why no one is shocked that she's here so to them she's been around the whole time but only a select few now the changes. So in this reality the ALLIANCE rings were merely a collaboration between Agreste and Tsurugi which was hijacked by Monarch and Gabriel sacrificed himself to help stop it.*

The amount of problems this finale created dear lord

I actually like how unclear is this ending, because it gives us a lot of fun with speculating and theories. I still don't like that Gabriel become a hero at the end and that everybody are gaslighting Adrien now, but I don't mind this vague end with Wish outcome. At first I thought that this is Emilie, but now I'm more on Team Amelie 😂. Mostly because there was no interaction between her and Adrien.

Adrien should know that his dad was hawkmoth because of the voicemail Ladybug left for Cat Noir in the season 6 finale!

Yes, please continue to ignore lila, she does not deserve attention. Also I find it kind of odd that the wiki has changed her name to cerise - we don't even have confirmation of either name being her real one, given we've seen how much she lies. Another thing, Marinette keeping Adrien in the dark is iffy, but what about plagg? I assume knows everything that happened basically (actually, do tikki and plagg know what gimmi does and vice versa?). I feel like it would even worse for him to withhold that information from adrien, because he always is with adrien. I would also like to see if felix was openly accepted into the superhero team. They know that the peacock was in the hands of hawkmoth, and suddenly the peacock reappears in someone else's hands. Hmmm. Surely some of them would be suspicious no? I suppose it's a kids show so that's unrealistic but it would be interesting to see. Initial exclusion, and eventual acceptance.

I have 6 reasons for thinking that it makes more sense for it to be Amelie rather than Emilie. 1. As you said, you can't trade 2 lives for one. 2. When he makes the wish, it certainly looks like he was reunited with Emilie in death. 3. As you said, how would they explain where Emilie has been all this time? (And while Thomas Astruc said a funeral was held for her, in Queen Wasp Nadia said that Gabriel had made his first public appearance since his wife disappeared.) 4. If Emilie was alive, why would Ladybug have given the rings to Adrien? 5. Marinette told Gabriel that Adrien had come to terms with the loss of his mother and she showed him the video of Emilie saying that she didn't want him to bring her back because she didn't want someone else to pay for their mistake. 6. Gabriel wanted to be reunited with Emilie. Her being alive and him being dead wouldn't accomplish that. I will say though that the one thing that is making me have doubts is that the alcove where Adrien and Marinette are sitting is where the statue of Emilie was and I can't come up with a reason why it would be removed if she was still gone.

Honestly, even if this is the “end of the Agreste arc”, or more that I don’t think we are completely done with Gabriel yet, or at least his consequences of the wish. We still have lots of built up questions about Gabriel’s past life as “Gabi Grasette” and backstory with Tsurugi. I think this is just one big misdirection, and the new season might just start or lead up to the world ending. This is mainly because of Ephemeral where we are told how the wish works, and also how we were constantly reminded in the finale that the wish will only cause disaster (Also I thought it was interesting that the wish summoned a Kwami to use their power, and when Kwamis use their power they cause disasters). Anyways, I can’t wait for season 6! Hopefully we get more answers soon.

In the storyboard. Adrien and the woman next to Natalie smile at eachother. So it can be Emilie. Because I don't think Amalie and Adrien is close enough to smile at eachother. Unless it is her and he's leaving with his aunt, Felix, adoptive father gorilla, and adoptive mother Natalie. I kinda like the second option. Because that would be awesome and Gabriel letting go of Emilie and going with her to the afterlife is a good end of his arc.

I have a lot of questions for the final scene. So far, everything looks very strange. I'll explain now ✨Visual. In fact, for me the whole part with a wish looks very unrealistic. Another brighter lighting, as if someone had applied a filter - at first it seemed to me that it was someone's dream or imagination, but definitely not reality. Everything looks too perfect. Even the sun's glare falls beautifully on the camera. Also, for some reason, the monument to Gabi stands on the site of the monument to Lady Bug and Cat Noir, but these are rather nuances. ✨Characters. All the characters are just having fun frolicking in nature, watching Madame Bustier's too perfect presentation, reacting to it the same way - not as individuals with an individual character, but simply as a crowd. Only Marinette and Adrian, who are sitting in the garden, stand out from the whole crowd. If I remember correctly, this is where Gabriel and Emily used to sit. It turns out a very beautiful parallel. ✨And now let's move on to the questions: Why didn't Lady Bug tell the Cat about who the Monarch was? Let's say Adrian doesn't need to know this so as not to break his psyche, but wouldn't it be worth sharing this with Cat Noir, the partner with whom you fought for 5 seasons on the side of good? Apparently for the same reason Marinette didn't tell him that he was a sentimonster - so as not to injure him. But isn't it safer to know about it in order to save the ring? It could be worth Adrian's LIFE. I think, it is a bit strange that the fulfillment of Gabriel's wish is taught as Marinette's victory, because in any case, as Sass explained, the world was erased. So we are waiting for season 6 for the creators to explain everything to us

My question is not what the wish did, but how does everyone remember things? One thing that stuck out to me was when Gabriel asked Marinette to "Let Adrien remember the times he tried to be a dad." Like first of all, Monarse, even if Marinette would honor that, I don't think she'll be able to think of a single one!! Second of all, why would he ask that if he wasn't sure the wish was going to alter his role as the villain? If his wish included taking away all that knew Monarch and Gabriel were the same person, then Marinette might think that too. Yeah I know, in the murder basement and all that, but the wish could've easily made her think that Monarch was holding Gabriel hostage, blackmail, or have a secret partnership that Gabriel wanted to break from, or some bs like that. And if this was true, then all the others; Felix, Lila, Nathalie, Tomoe, might have their memories altered as well. This also makes me lean more toward that being Amilie, and she and Felix live with Adrien and Nathalie in the mansion after he lost both his parents. And the one thing that could break the spell on Marinette was that message draft Ladybug never sent to Chat Noir. This is what I think could happen in Season 6. If there's a possibility for this, then I hope it will mean it includes Bunnix, because I would love to know what the wish does for the holder of the rabbit? I mean, did she know it would happen this way, or did the wish just rewrite everything for her too? I liked the finale, but there's so many open windows here. Like you said, hopefully things will be explained later on. One big thing I'm hoping for is that they'll make up Adrien's absence by showing his side of things during Perfect Alliance. Say maybe, Argos broke him and Kagami out, and that's why Felix was also missing during all that, and it's the whole Senti-gang making a break for it!! 😄 Anyway, Always a pleasure! 🥰 🐞💞🐈‍⬛

7:32 In this scene of the video. You forgot to say that Alix while not shown yet... She does still know the identities of Ladybug and Cat Noir. And that Kagami probably knows that Gabriel Agreste was Monarch, because she did that play with Felix in Representation. And that Plagg knows that Gabriel Agreste was Monarch, since Marinette told him before transforming into Bug Noire. And Amelie knows that Gabriel is Monarch most likely because I'd imagine Felix wouldn't keep that a secret from her. And that Luka knows that Adrien is Cat Noir and Su Han knows Marinette is Ladybug and most likely Adrien's identity too. 7:48 I think I know exactly what video idea you are talking about here and I hope that's the case.

I think they should've ended by having Gabriel/Monarch genuinely realizing how much he's hurt everyone, especially his son, then give Ladybug the rope lucky charm that was used when he was cataclysmed and she reversed what happened to him instead of the disappointment of having the villain basically win and be honoured after 5 seasons of wickedness. Ladybug not telling Adrien the truth about his father was not the best idea to me, but then again, knowing the character of Adrien Agreste he would go into a deep depression once he realized that he was responsible for his father's death. He was distraught when it happened, and it was a villain, much less his own father. I'm very disappointed with the end of this arc.

Okay here is my theory: that is Amelie, here is why: So as we see when Gabriel reunited with Emilie they were both souls aka they were floating, so I think that Emilie is dead/ill/.. bc she reunited with gebriel and they both were TOGETHER when they floated and Gabriel is dead. I think they both went to heaven/hell/idk together. And here is what I think happened with Lila: so Gabriel has his own lounge/place where all the butterflies are and if you watched the movie you would see that that exactly happened with Gabriel, I think what happened with Lila is that her basement/.. turned into the place with the butterflies. I hope it makes sense what I just said, hope you get what I mean 😂❤

another thing i saw for how both Natalie and Emily could be back is Gabe wished to take natalie's disease, and emilie's death/coma onto himself. That's technically not trading one life for 2 people but I think that's a super convoluted way to make that happen. Im fine just assuming it's amilie because I really dont want them to hide his wish just so they can use information we dont know as a plot element.

All of this is just to confuse us.Thomas is clearly playing with us so we can live in a huge suspense and wait eagerly for s6. Which was stupid and a smart move, of course, regarding what he's done to us this season. In tt he said only this: 'It's simple as that! No need to be confused/complicate things.' Then said that the colours on the swimming suit don't mean anything... Which, basically, I don't believe, since somehow they spoil the black 'n pink combination - Emilie's suite colours which leads me to one conclusion: that's 'simple as it is': It's Emilie. Also, there are some other theories I have - what if Gabriel fooled Gimmi and his real wish was to fix all his mistakes/the mistakes with the peacock miraculous? That way, yes, as you said, Colt will be also saved. We don't know about Kagami and we'll leave this for now. Since seasons 5,6,7 and 8 are confirmed to be 'darker' seasons, it's fully possible for us to experience more intense feelings and etc. As we have seen in the Movie by Jeremy Zag, oh my Gosh, everything is possible even in the show🤷🏼‍♀️

I would also like to point out that in Ephemeral, Gabriel wished for the world to be rewritten to create a better world for his family to live in. As season 5 progresses, Gabe understands that he's gonna die whether or not he makes his wish and although he might still want to rewrite the world, his wish was focussed on reversing the damages of the peacock miraculous rather than creating an entirely different world

I think you're right in saying that Gabriel wished to trade his life for Natalie and the person and the end is Amilie. It would not make sense for the other theory to be true because they still seem to remember Hawkmoth, Shadowmoth, and Monarch and everything that has happened since. If he wished for Emilie to never be effected by the peacock miraculous and she was alive during the Gabriel arc, none of it would have happened because he has no reason to make a wish because Emilie is still alive and therefore Gabriel would not spiral into madness. I makes more sense that he would have wished to trade himself for Natalie because there was no way to heal himself, Natalie, and bring Emilie back without sacrificing others. And it seemed that Ladybug was able to make him come to his senses and realize how crappy of a father he is and how much Natalie cares for Adrien. The only way that the person at the end is Emille and not Amilie is if he wished to trade his life for hers and wish for Natalie to be healed and Emilie to wake up from her "coma". But this would alsomean that someone else had to take Natalie's sickness and with Gabriel's change of heart at the end, I don't think he would do that. He would want his son to know that he did everything right in the end and it would make no sense for him to still decide to give someone else a sickness. Plus, Gabriel and Natalie had a sickness inflicted on them by a miraculous, so it would be an even trade and no one had to pay the price by getting the sickness. I think the character is Amilie and Gabriel traded his life for Natalie so Adrien would still have a parental figure in his life.

if it is Emily, they say people in comas are able to hear things around them, what if Emily was able to hear Hawk/Scarlett/Shadow/Monarch daddy's rants about evil stuff and something happens with that? that would be cool.

This was a very interesting video. However I'm gonna stick to my guts and say that this is Emilie. In the storyboard, there was one scene where they cut out Adrien looking dearily at Emilie as it zooms in on her face, and I think they cut that out, because they wanted us to have more questions, they didn't just want to give answers straight away, so they cut some things out so these plot points can lead on and connect with season 6. I also think Gabriel was switching places with Emilie as to me, that seemed like one last moment where Gabriel embraces Emilie in his arms before he goes and she stays kind of thing. I do feel like all of this will be explained in season 6, but as of right now, I am leading towards Gabriel sacrificing his heart and soul for Nathalie and Emilie, however it wouldn't work like that, since that wouldn't be balanced, so a consequence would have to be made. Therefore, I think Gabriel got trapped in the miraculous that was once his, the one he was so attached to and always used, the butterfly miraculous, I think he became a phantom that is trapped within the butterfly miraculous alongside Nooroo. I think that is what Lila was afraid of at the end, because she saw something she wasn't expecting and the light was blue and as we know, in cartoon, ghosts or phantoms, are represented with a light bluish tinge to them to suggest what they are. Also in the storyboard, at that very scene, we hear a male voice laughing that is very reminiscent of whenever Gabriel laughed, but that was cut out as well to leave us with more questions, but personally I think this is the more plausible explanation. As we know, this isn't the last we'll see of Gabriel as he is gonna somehow be in season 6, and if not in a flashback, I can definitely see this being a way in which he is included next season. Furthermore, Mei Shi, got trapped within the prodigious as a ghost guardian who protected the prodigious, but then after Fei defeated him, he was free from that role, yet he was still attached to her, to the prodigious, wasn't he? As we see him with all the Renlings in Re-creation. He's adapted a new form after his change of roles and he can't really grant any power as he isn't actually really a renling or a kwami, he just adapated to the form of one. He isn't part of the renling roster from the prodigious and he can't be a kwami either since, kwamis tend to have double letters in their names. So this is the only plausible explanation. Again, it's all left for question, but what Gimmi says, doesn't mean it can't neccesarilly happen. We don't even know as a matter of fact. And I think Gabriel can sacrifice himself, but as a consequence, Gimmi had to trap his soul back in the butterfly as a phantom to balance the universe, because they can't bring back two people, like you said, someone else would have to get sick and die. However, I think Gimmi allowed it so that Gabriel sacrificed his body and his spirit, so his body is gone now, and his spirit can't have a normal passing on, so it is trapped within the butterfly miraculous. What Gimmi said is pretty generic, at least to me. They weren't really specific about it, because ofc they want to leave it open ended, but that doesn't mean that Gabriel's sacrifice if his soul and body is impossible, we'll just have to wait and see until next season.

What I basically think is that, if that is Emilie, that would (for me) ruin the whole finale.

I think it's more likely that this is Amelie but some things that point to Emily is her clothes because she was wearing pink and black and Emily wore pink and black is her glass coffin thing. Also, the place where Adrien and Marinette kissed was actually where Emily's statue was but now the statue is gone.

I might have a theory, well actually I read it off from another youtube comment and they said that it might be possible that Gabriel sacrificed his life to restore the broken Peacock Miraculous before Gabriel found it and before he gave it to Emilie and when I read that comment, I said it was an interesting theory and got my head thought spinning just thinking about it, but like you also said, it would have restored Colt Fathom.

IMO it would make more sense to be Amelie but what if he wished to transfer Nathalie's illness on himself and then sacrificed his life for Emilie?

😳 Amelie! It's GOT to be her! I think Gabriel sacrificed his life and his wife's for Natalie and someone else, since she was still alive, but in a coma, never to recover anyway.

I love your videos! I actually think you would do great analysing other shows in the meantime as we do wait for s6. Have you ever watched stuff like ASOUE, MLP:FIM, Sofia the first or Elena of Avalor? I'd personally love you to analyse them, but it's just a suggestion no pressure!

If I had to guess Mari still remembers because she was there when the wish was made and because that's what Gabriel wanted as well as for his son to have a happy life, his wish was not only to be with his wife but for Adrian to have a life he could be happy with. Gabriel wanted Adrian to be happy but he also wanted to be with his wife and so in his heart the two wishes were one and gammy read his heart to make them reality even if it meant Gabriel had to go away and be erased from this universe. He's still remembered as monarch but only Mari knew his identity and as the guardian I feel it makes sense for her to remember

I completely agree with your perception on this, my only point would be that should gabriel have wished to undo the affects of the damaged peacock miraculous, it would not required multiple sacrifices, but another miraculous to have caused damage, it is an odd way to look at it, but you wish for the peacock miraculous to have never been broken and another miraculous would have needed to be repaired in its place, the difference being that marinette or master fu would have known about how to fix the miraculous so no damage ultimately would have been caused, hope this helps understand what could have happened here

This clear up some of my thoughts

Story wise, it makes most sense for her to be Amalie. Gabriel and Natalie were both going to die thanks to Gabriel's relentless chase to bring his wife back, making it so that if he failed Adrien would be an orphan with not even Natalie to take care of him. After what Marinette says to him, showing Gabriel the error of his ways and he's the only one who hasn't accepted Emelie's death (this including Emelie herself), it would make most sense in guilt for everything he's done he would trade his life for Natalie's, someone who had truly cared for Adrien after Emelie's death and knew how to show it (unlike someone). It's also the simplest answer as to why Natalie is all better despite Gabriel stating he only had one wish, everyone remembers everything that happened the passed year, and there's nothing to indicate the past had been altered.

I really think the wish was different or at least more complicated than it seems. I also think something went wrong...because there is no perfect wish. There is always a cost. Gabriel told Nathalie he wasn't planning to sacrifice humans. It's possible he was lying. I originally took this to mean he intended to use one or more of the senti-beings. I've been worried for Nooroo since that final scene in Re-creation...and even more now realizing this. It could go a few ways but the only kwami we don't see and kniw is okay...is Nooroo. So: 1. Maybe he wished Nathalie healthy and Emelie back too using his own life and Nooroo. Nooroo would be very sick and dying or dead then. 2. He wished the Butterfly damaged instead of the Peacock. No humans sacrificed. 3. Building on 2, maybe he included that Nooroo take the effects from the damage instead of himself. So either Nooroo is very sick...or died. In which case...who or what came out of the Butterfly when Lila put it on? It also doesn't make sense that Gabriel could just choose the result of his wish and Gimmi would go with exactly what he wanted. The wish was supposed to have a cost/price to pay. And as Marinette said "there is no perfect wish". I'm nearly certain was always meant to work more like how genies/djinn would grant a wish. I won't say outright, but I have a pretty good guess as to what happened with the wish and the Butterfly at the end. And if they do it right it will be way more interesting than Lila being Hawkmoth 2.0. Poetic even.

Honestly bestie, this episode’s ending has still left me stumped. I could see either of your possibilities being plausible but I have no idea who this person truly is. Apart of me is leaning towards it being Emilie since there are still a few clues indicating that Emilie was brought back to life. I think the biggest clue is that the statue that used to be in the garden is now gone. On the little bench where Marinette and Adrien share their kiss, the statue of Emilie used to sit, but now it’s just an empty bench. If Emilie were still gone, why would her statue no longer be present? It’s definitely possible that the writer’s may have decided last minute that they wanted this to be Amelie instead, but they didn’t wanna change the scenery of Marinette and Adrien’s kiss since it’s such a beautiful set so they decided to keep it. However, in the scene where “Emilie” is served a drink, she’s framed in front and center, whereas Nathalie kinda falls more into the background. In my eyes, it feels like the intention of the scene was to draw emphasis on Emilie indicating to the audience that she’s back. If the writer’s had decided to make this Amelie at the last minute, I feel like they should’ve had the animator’s switch her place with Nathalie so that the emphasis would now be on Nathalie showing that the wish was used to only heal her. However, since they left the scene as is, it’s making me more inclined to believe that this is Emilie. Again, this could’ve just been remnants of the script where this was originally intended to be Emilie but there just wasn’t enough time to switch things around. Even though I still don’t really have a firm belief of who this could be, my gut is kinda leaning more towards it being Emilie, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it actually turns out to be Amelie instead. If this is really Emilie though, I honestly have no idea who would’ve been sacrificed in order to save Nathalie. Based on what we know right now, it doesn’t appear as if there are any other significant characters who could’ve been used in the switch. I doubt that they would just take some random insignificant person as a sacrifice either because that wouldn’t make for a very interesting story at all. It would have to be someone who’s just as significant to one of the character’s as Nathalie is to Adrien. Perhaps Master Fu maybe? Since they’ve already kinda written him out of the story, maybe they would somehow decide to make it a plot in season 6 where Marinette goes to visit Master Fu and finds out that he’s fallen gravely ill. That could potentially explain why nothing seems wrong at this point in time because Marinette probably hasn’t gone to see Master Fu in a little while. Then again, I doubt they would do something like this since that seems a little dark. Then again, this season has definitely tackled some dark topics so who knows. Lmao wait nah, what if Chloe was the sacrifice? I mean, we already know that Astruc thinks she’s just the most evil irredeemable person ever, and besides, they’ve already done everything they can to assassinate her character anyways. Just kidding, just kidding!! None of that is meant to be taken seriously at all. My apologies if that joke was a little too dark. At this point I’m just racking my brain from any ideas. Hopefully season 6 won’t just casually gloss over this idea if it turns out that both Emilie and Nathalie are now back and in healthy condition. I really hope that we get to potentially see some of the consequences of the wish and how this would all relate to Lila as the show’s new main villain!! Can’t wait to see your theory video about her! I really don’t think it should be Emile, if so it wouldn’t make sense for Felix to have been there in Paris. I think Amelie would have taken responsibility of adrien and moved/ travelled to Paris with Felix and Nathalie becoming her assistant

I think I have one theory, since Emily is not dead but is in a coma, when Gabriel make the wish he said read his mind which I think mean trading his consciousness so Emily could be back, and when he said read his soul mean he is giving his life to Natalie, so he sacrifice his consciousness for Emily and his body for Natalie.

Even though I liked the explanations in the comments on how that was Emilie in the finale. I'm still rooting for Amelie since that would mean Nathalie moved on with a new person something that Gabriel can't do

If he did wish to save the miraculous then in order to put the universe in balance another miraculous would have to be broken. This could've been the butterfly which is why gabriel dies in the finale because he was technically for the past year using this broken miraculous.

From Astruc’s comments on twitter I’m almost sure they changed the finale and it’s Amelie. Poor Gabe sacrificed himself for Nathalie. But I still cannot believe they killed him. They promised we’ll see Gabriel in the next seasons, right? If they meant his statue it’s cruel. Weird jokes as for writers of kids show.

One thing I want to know is when Gabriel made the wish to make himself as the hero helping Ladybug defeat Monarch did he sacrifice the person who is the Hawk Moth of the future was the villain the whole time or something similar to that. Because from what Marinette is saying she only references Monarch never Gabriel so could it be that the wish brainwashed or altered Marinette's memory when she was fighting Monarch and the truth about Gabe being Monarch???? Also, I can see both sides of the argument of whether the women we see is either Emilie or Amilie but I think its Amilie because knowing Gabriel and how obsessed he is with Emilie to the point he can't live without her, he rather be with her in the afterlife than actually being a father towards Adrien. Gabriel always referred Emilie as his wife whenever he talked to Adrien I don't remember a single time he ever referred to her as his mother, I could be wrong but thats what I noticed. If It is Emelie then Gabriel is an even more awful person because someone else has to die for Nathalie. I believe it is Amelie because I don't think we would see Marinette so "calm" with Gabe being seen as a hero in the end If she knew someone was ill/dead because of the wish.

I think what happened here is that after Gabriel and finally made his wish he wished to be with his wife in the afterlife and that's exactly what happened he sacrificed himself so he can be back with Emily not in the real world but in the afterlife and that means Natalie has to be the one to take care of Adrian now

Everything aside, the thing that disappointed me the most is all the work and everything happened in the presence of ladybug while chat noir had no role in this. Those two are the heros n the ending i.e defeating monarch should be both of their's doing and not just ladybug, which is so unfair. About the ending, I think Gab gave up on his life to be w/ Emilie in afterlife while in the scene might b felix's mother. Since they said Gab helped ladybug defeat "monarch"

Amelie, most definitely. He said his wish was to free his heart (stop being the bad guy, which is only possible if he releases himself from his grief), in exchange of his life. He did not wish for her return. Therefore, she remains dead. I have a LONG rant...but I'm just gonna say the second one that stings me the most, because it encapsulates the problem's core. Boustier's regime. Everything was acceptable (I figured Tsurugi and Gabriel worked together to help her vision come true in this reality) UNTIL the school system. Does Astruc not understand that competition is exactly to bring out our full potential, and ensure an easier distribution of resources among people ? Of course the end of the world was presented as everything being fixed. He doesn't understand our world is NOT what he wants it to be. He's childish and that's it.

I think the wish was for everyone to get what they deserved or what they are destined for, like how Emilie and Nathalie are alive, Miss Bustier becomes mayor, Chloe and Audrey are in exile, Chloe's dad is a film director, Lila is in possession of the Butterfly Miraculous, Adrien becomes free, all the heroes now keep their miraculous permanently, Kwamis are free and Mr.Democles is a principal again.

I wished that Gabriel would have come back in a way because... ok, part of me is glad that he won, but another part of me feels like that was too easy of an ending for him, so I would like it if he came back. But that is never going to happen. Also, I think that it would have been really cool if Gabriel lost everything and became this Lex Luthor type of villain in Miraculous where he is on some, "If I couldn't defeat Ladybug as Hawkmoth or Monarch, then I will defeat Ladybug as Gabriel Agrest!" Type of stuff. And Gabriel uses his wealth, connections, and influence to his advantage, like maybe he becomes mayor, or governor, or even president, and he wages a one-man-war against all of the miraculous holders in the world like he takes away funding and resources for businesses making the businesses suffer, and taking away their homes, and messing with the school system so the kids can't go to college and he just destroys their futures and livelihoods, like he buys over Marinette's parents' bakery, he kicks them out, and he sets it on fire to where Marinette's family loses everything and they never recover, and he just does more damage as Gabriel than he ever did as Hawkmoth or Monarch proving that without any miraculous Gabriel is still powerful in his own right. That is what I wish would happen, but that is never going to happen.

I don't think that is Emilie. They are just trying to make us think it is. I think Gabriel sacrificed himself for Natalie. To me that is the only thing that explains him coming together with his wife and floating upwards. As if they had been reunited. Which was what he had wanted through the whole show.

I definitely think that was Amelie. I think that when Marinette was talking to Gabriel she did convince him a little bit, just to "tip over his heart and soul" but he didn't quite believe it. So when he told Gimmi to read his heart, he THOUGHT he was talking about Emilie but it was Nathalie, and when he told Gimmi to read his soul, he THOUGHT he was sacrificing someone else but he sacrificed himself (Since Nathalie's sickness would have transferred to him, I think he would have just died on the spot, he had it coming.) I think they put Amelie next to Nathalie just to mess with the audience, and to make us have all these crazy theories to discuss for the next year. That may just be me though, I'm off to watch more theoretical videos on the topic.

I think colt WILL be back and there will be a scene of Felix confronting him. Season 5 was shown to be dark so why should the next season all of a sudden be for kids again? Especially with how demented Lila is. This leads me to believe Gabriel wishes for the peacock damage to be reversed, resulting in the butterfly miraculous being damaged. Usually when people put a miraculous the kwamis pop out with their little light bubble… but for Lila that wasn’t the case

Has anyone thought that maybe Gabriel wanted Adrien to be created by himself with the broken peacock miraculous and not Emilie? And maybe thanks to that Natalie and Emilie are alive?

Another thing that scares me is that in the fandom wiki it’s said that the wish brought back Emilie.

What I thought the wish was is the Peacock Miraculous never being broken but instead, it was the Butterfly Miraculous, an equal exchange. And since Gabriel was already dying due to the cataclysm at this point he didn't care how it would effect him so he used it as a loophole to bring back as many people as possible with only his life being given up.
