I'm studying Sogang level 6 GAP at the moment and started from level 4. It's great. One of the things I love most about it is you can choose how hard you want to study and take it because they're not strict about assignments and homework and the exams aren't too difficult. The more study you do the more you'll get out if it, but if you have other stuff going on e.g. job applications, part time job, internship etc etc it's not overwhelming or too stressful. Diverse classrooms, students there who actually want to speak which is great because I have the same goal. While the course being designed around speaking is great, it's more important that my classmates are actually keen and motivated to speak too. And while writing is definitely the lowest focus of the skills at Sogang, if you take the time to do your assignments properly and we-write and memorise them for the exams, I think you'll improve a lot. Also if you pay attention during grammar activities and make an effort to keep using the grammar points after we go through them once quickly in class. Just thought I'd comment for anyone out there weighing up their options. I strongly recommend Sogang.

@Eono Learning I didn't study alone. I recommend TTMIK grammar lessons and Iyagi series ages ago though. I used them for free but I think you have to pay now.

@Eono Learning No idea. I only used TTMIK up-to and including about TOPIK Level 3. I think around TOPIK level 3 I was listening to the IYAGI series.

Just got accepted as an exchange student at Sogang. It's great that they put so much focus on speaking because all the Korean language classes I took at my home university were mostly about reading and translating. I struggle with actual speaking, reading and listening is fine tho

Next year, I'll be spending a year interning and taking classes at a university in Korea as an exchange student. I tested into my program at a high- intermediate / low- advanced Korean level, and am only a month into my program. Sogang, Ewha, and Korea University are my top three choices as of now, and I hope to choose my top choice soon!

@@jamimilya oh Hello ! Thank you for your message. I actually changed my mind nd I choose Busan University 😅. If you want to go to Seoul I only heard good things bout Sogang bit unfortunately I cannot give you personal feedback. As for Busan/Pusan National University if you’re ever interested in going to n other city than Seoul then it definitely worth it. It is way cheaper and although the course’s pace is a little speed I feel like I am making good progress. PNU is serious you have homework literally everyday. Let me know if you want more feedback on PNU. 😊

it's sooo hard so choose because I really want to be able to speak Korean in one year, while having intensive and engaging courses that focus equally on speaking, writing, listening and understanding. but those who convinced me the most for now are sungkyunkwan and sogang, even though I'm not sure about sogang because I don't know if it will help me have better reading and literature understanding skills

I'm having a hard time choosing, it's a tie between Yonsei and Sogang. I plan on moving to Korea in February 2022, my main goal is to apply for a scholarship after finishing level 6. Yonsei seems to be the best option to have better chances entering University later on due to the assignments, tests and focus on developing grammar; but since it becomes incredibly demanding and difficult up to level 3 (not only at Yonsei, but specially there if that makes sense) I fear I won't be able to balance work and study. Sogang was my first option since I want to be able to communicate and express myself well and accurately. I'll have to do a little more research though, the prices are not that different. I have only heard good things about Lexis Korea, but it's not as affordable :( Thank you for all the information!!
