I'm gen z and I grew up with some great shows too. Fosters home for imaginary friends, my little pony, Wonder over yonder, zeke and luther, Kick buttowski, some others too.
I've been a flight attendant for 3 years from Italy and I've seen.... many things onboard Around 90% of the time I seen children just either screaming or glued to their parents' phone or tablet watching stupid annoying shit like those videos and sprawling food all over the floor. Other times, rare ones, the children were either playing Mario Kart on the switch, often with a parent, playing Minecraft, watching Disney movies and once there was this child watching Sherlock Hound. I was very surprised to see that old anime, it was from my era and I suggest the mother other anime from the same studio like Peter Pan no boken, Around the World with Willy Fog and Moomin. She was very pleased and it made my day :)
All I did on airplanes was: A. Play on my 3DS B. Look out my window C. Fall asleep with my neck in an odd position D. All of the above in that same order

I know I'm a bit late but... I am an Indian and NO It's not called "Indian" It's called "Hindi" The Train said "Hi Apple! How are you?" The apple said "Hi Humpty! Nice seeing you here! Can I have a ride with you?" And pretty much all the fruits say the same thing with some other words there that mean the same thing. Oh also, The orange plum thing said "Hey Humpty! I want to meet my friend, Grapes. Can you take me to his house ahead?" There was also NO educational value in this No Need to thank me.
Oh yes.... the last one. That ABC song with 2 words.... the one that mentally scarred me. So, my mom is an english teacher (that teaches english as a second language to children). A few years ago they put on this song for the kids to teach them the english alphabet. I heard the song from the other room and thought it was extremely creepy for a kids song. Don't know what makes it creepy. That creepy background instrument or the fact that the child singing the song said a a a , a a a : b b b, b b b everytime with a creepy voice. It fits more for a horror movie lol. Imagine being alone in your house at night and suddenly hearing the ABC song with two words.
repeating tones actually may damage your infant brain in a long run, and most this kind of videos does that.. be warned if you're a parent. try to filter your children's video, find a story telling instead of nursery rhymes, audio children books or review a children music video, if it doesnt have a repeating tones that it will be save for the child.

If I was a parent I’d read my kids a book and watch classic cartoons and shows than let them have an excessive amount of time on an iPad or Phone. (Just give them a game or something that what really gets kids attention.)

Same with me though I would give my future children as little iPad time as possible with only originator inc learning apps and coloring apps on their with no RU-vid and give them a lot of time playing outside reading books and playing board games for hours on end.

I love the fact that youtube allows things on RU-vid kids to slide (and remind you, things are WEIRD for some reason (dont get me started on the clay animation or frozen stuff)), yet one minor swear word "BANNED FROM THE WEBSITE, CHANNEL DOWN, GO OVER WORK, ETC." Dont get me started on the dumb adds
Well I would say it's the children's fault... people realized that making strange content would attract children and then they could profit off it, RU-vid also realized how well these videos did Wich then explains why the algorithm pushes strange videos rather than actual good content. All because there's huge amounts of kids in the internet Sorry if I didn't make sense

I saw once a kid friendly clay animation video (without the inappropriate stuff) it was about a Cookie Monster shopping for food. I liked it because of your usual kid friendly RU-vid background music.
