Wow as someone that eats a high volume low calorie diet these are a game changer. I usually consume 300 calories of pure vegetables for volume and satiety, these 30 calorie noodles, with chicken breast and veggies would surely fill you up.

There are dried versions out there with no smell at all out of the box so it lasts very long, easy to store and avoids stomach irritation. Once you boil them in broth or any liquid they will absorb them and return to noodle form. Try frying them in black pepper/chicken broth with leek and ham. Its an absolute banger dish.

do you know if there's a way to take away their rubbery/bounciness? been trying to get into them, but the texture leaves a lot to be desired. I've tried boiling them for two minutes and then pan frying them for like 7 minutes to no avail. since they just take on whatever seasoning I put on them taste is no issue, but trying to find a way to do something about the texture. maybe I should just chop them up before hand?
@nl1575

@@this_is_japes7409 Have you figured it out yet?
@this_is_japes7409
@this_is_japes7409 Год назад
@@nl1575 nope experimenting with leaving them in a vinegary solution (1/4 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of water for like 6 packs of the yuho stuff) to see if it helps. boiling them for a long time, like 20 minutes, helped slightly. also tried just blending the noodles a little bit and that made it somewhat more tolerable, but only because the bites are smaller. I would however maybe suggest trying to find the brand healthy noodle(i think it's sold at some costcos(not all of them), check the healthy noodle website), they're a bit higher calorie each pack goes from 5cal to 30cals or so instead. but I heard the texture is much better on them. need to make time to get to a costco that has them, but that's one of my next experiments on this journey. update: the vinegar solution didn't work that well, i mean somewhat but not enough for make rubberiness more palatable, i''ve since switched to the brand slim rice, healthy noodle is never in stock at costco, so I ended up just getting slim rice off amazon, look for the ones with some oat flour in the ingredients and are slightly higher calories than the other konjac noodle/rice brands 15 per serving vs just 5. slim rice is significantly more tolerable compared to the yuho brand and miracle rice brands. so it's my current go to.

You can make a spicy peanut tahini sesame seed sauce that goes well with these noodles. I add red garlic chili sauce for spiciness. Make the sauce, boil the noodles, then take the hot noodles and immediately mix them into the sauce. Then blend together as much as possible. Top with sesame oil and soy sauce, if you wish. Garnish with cucumber, carrots, and spring onions.

my parents ordered a bunch of these once and i had to finish up everything because they didn't like it and this is actually what i did all the time used to just boil the noodles, stir fry the veggies, make the sauce and mix it up in the pan to have an amazing meal. for the sauce i mixed sichuan pepper corn powder, chili oil, peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar or lime juice depending on what i had and some honey to balance the spice.

@@boxlad7583 I mean, they're technically spending the calories they saved by using shirataki noodles instead of normal ones for the sauce. Sure, the macros are different (fat instead of carbs), but calorie-wise it should come out same-ish as spaghetti with a light sauce.

As I’ve been doing keto since 1 year I’ve had Shirataki quite a few times. I cook on my own my rinsing them for approx 3-5 min and then boiling them for 8-10 min medium medium heat, putting them on kitchen towel for a while then putting them on pan on the lowest heat possible without any oil or anything. I make it with tofu/chicken Satay or tofu/chicken/any meat butter garlic etc. and it has always tasted amazing.

@@EnBrazosDeLaFiebre hi, see the thing is u have to wash them in the beginning because they are packaged with some sort of liquid and that liquid has some kind of pungent smell which I certainly don’t like. I rinse it then boil it then put it on the kitchen towel and after that I put it on a low flame pan without any kind oils or anything. Well after all that once it’s done u may want to mix it with ur sauce of ur choice because these noodles are tasteless. It just adds that extra texture while eating it. I bet u will love it.

Currently using these noodles to "fill out" the volume of my meals so I can more comfortably reduce calories. A few pieces of broccoli and half a chicken breast becomes a lot more satisfying with a big clump of noodles to go alongside it. For anyone using these noodles for the first time, you'll also notice they're very springy and almost completely tangled up in each other, such that it's really hard to grab one bite without pulling the whole ball of noodles along with you. So I've started grabbing the bundle with both hands and pulling them apart a few times during my rinse. If they're still too long or unwieldy, you can also pick them up and snip them halfway with a pair of scissors. Also yeah, I recommend crisping the noodles up a LOT otherwise the texture of them is very strange.

I finally got around to trying this recipe, except I used sweet chili instead. Had to order the ingredients home, as all I have so far found locally, was a few packets of shirataki nooodles. And I leaned that I only like the consistency of the "thin" noodles. It was surprising good. I expected that I at least would have to experiment a bit. But it was great at the first try. Added frozen peas and corn as that was a simple way to add some variation.

Just wondering have you tried or can shirataki noodles be marinated. I have used them previously as a pasta substitute and the texture/lack of taste led me back to spiralling zucchini(steamed with a little low fat butter, salt and garlic brushed on). Maybe with a good marinade it might get rid of the plastic texture and taste. Another idea I just had and might try is boiling with probably a beef stock till it reduces and check the taste/texture. I really want to make them work 10 cal per 100 grams is a game changer if it can work.

I can imagine this sudden uptik in interest is overwelming but you wil probably be fine just doing what you do. Good luck to you.

I tried this out just now and I'm sorry to say the noodles just kill this for me. The mouthfeel/bite is really off, the taste and smell was fine since I rinsed them off like you showed in the video. Maybe I just didn't pan fry them enough. I have one more package of noodles and I think I'm gonna try boiling them next time.

I tried them and fried them a good bit because that was recommended to improve the texture and they were still rubbery. It was really off-putting and I just can't think of rubbery noodles as a miracle. : (

I rinse them for a few minutes and then I add them to my steamer with my veggies and they tend to just take on the flavor of the veggies and add a bunch of filler to my dish. I try to avoid pan searing since it adds much more calories from the cooking oils and whatever flavorings we tend to use.

Good idea. Calories from oil escalate very quickly but as long you measure it on a scale you should be fine :) Thank you for watching!

Keep in mind with that black bean sauce, that some versions of it need to be cooked by itself in a lot of oil first. Not sure why they don't all come "pre-roasted"? Also, there are some shirataki noodles with oat fiber in them, those tend to be better imo... but a lot of times on keto my family replaces noodles with cabbage. If you don't overcook it, it's a nice base for sauces.

I ate mine straight out of the package into hot soup. It didn't say to reheat it or anything on the back. It was just the right softness and didn't get a stomachache. I did however eat half a serving only and rinsed them in water before adding them to the soup. They were a different brand than this video's btw

If these are not your thing because of texture. House brand makes a version mixed with tofu. Pan fry it and add to ramen or as yakisoba is much closer to noodles. Otherwise get the very thin ones.

Well, i once bought an entire bag of this wich was at least 100g and yeah didin't get an upset stomach at all so i guess that could be an indication that i'm already consuming plenty of fiber wich apperently it's great for my gut health and believe it or not longevity. Anyway the eating expirience was a bit weird since when you're actually triyng to chew them it always feels like it's ultra squishy and that it will just slip down my thorat and choak me but of thankfully it did not happen so yeah it's a bit hard to chew and they don't have much of a taste but of course with my home-made sauce it was an enjoyable expirience. The only real downside is the cost, it's quite expensive but if you can afford it and don't mind being patient with chewing it it's great for weight loss.
