I love hearing the passion in all of you. I have the passion and drive everyone me nuts. I can't wait to finish college and be a funeral director. Love all of you!
I've learned how to improvise while working at a few bare bones FH's. As long as I had the basic supplies, instruments, & equipment, I could embalm successfully. Before social media & the internet, funeral programs were hot items before services-just to find scores of them in church & FH chapel pews, & in parking lots. Programs have become more elaborate, labor intense, & expensive to print. I'm sure printed programs will be eliminated in upcoming years since everyone relies upon their devices for info. For me, programs were a headache to produce, edit, keeping family members happy, & clean up. Programs are essentially a service -not a product.
ThinK somebody needs to take that baseball bat from Brian, he is too funny and Ryan reminds me of my brother. John is great too, you Kari are wonderful! I love you guys.
I've been fascinated with this topic for several years. I am a 911 dispatcher on the fire and the Emergency Medical Services side. So we get the calls from either the patient or the family members during their time of crisis, and then you all get them once they pass that threshold. Unfortunately in our region we have chronic overdoses and an increase in people walking on the freeways which coincides with the increase of homeless people. Last year our agency processed over 60,000 911 calls. We anticipate a higher call volume this year!
Regarding Dawn soap - do not wash hair that is dyed bright unnatural colors with any type of Dawn soap, because depending on which dye the person used (and you won't have any way of knowing that) Dawn can remove or dull quite a few of those dyes.
Poor Kari! LOL I have to disagree with the dawn dish soap. I personally find dodge germicidal soap doesn’t dry the skin out like dawn does. Forest fresh soap is also a great degreaser and don’t be afraid to use a little dry wash, that works wonders too!
I watched a rerun of NCIS and the person on the morgue table had been embalmed while the person was still alive. Ducky and Palmer were talking about the embalming fluid and the trochar añd because I listen to you I know everything they were talking about.
A friend worked for a funeral home The business received a promotional click that said " We put the FUN in funeral" She said she would not put it in public view.
Just buried someone close. It’s not easy at all. But thank u for the knowledge and education as it allowed me to be a caring person, but not taken advantage of. It’s odd that I needed to make all the decisions when I wasn’t a family member. But thank u.
My wife and I have day jobs but we have a hobby farm on the side. We clean our feeders with Dawn. Why? Those darn ducks! Our ducks, geese, chickens, and mini goats have never complained.
As far as cleaning if you have to remove stubborn grease etc. I have found Prell shampoo works better than Dawn as a mechanic. It takes everything off.
@@KaritheMortician You are welcome! I knew if it was bugging me not knowing who was hosting previously on Family Fued, I figured that it was probably bugging other people too! LOL 💖
So much to comment on lol .... Dawn, yes! Just, yes! #pgemployee lol ... above all, thank you guys! Fun video! Edit: @Kari, for Family Feud, I think you were thinking of Ray Combs who sadly committed suicide 😞
Kari I've asked some of the embalmers where I worked but this is my question, my mother was so swollen when she died and at the viewing, they said it was because of the medication they gave her but I haven't seen anyone come into the mortuary since like that could they have done something she looked like she weighed 300 pounds maybe I'm not getting this right now but I haven't seen anyone else like this sence and I work for a mortuary. Whould epsinsalts worked for to look more normal they said she swelled because of the kidney meds .I've asked a couple of the guys at work but no one has really given me an answer that I'm happy with I just want to know your opinion
The recipe?😅 Don’t you mean a formula if you’re combining different embalming fluids? What do you use epsom salt for, swelling? Prednisone is over used as an anti inflammatory. One of the side effects is you swell or bloat. Dawn works great on everything! There’s things that don’t come off the human body without scrubbing.... I never knew funeral directors were so funny 😅
on the topic of Family Feud. You mentioned the little guy who was host for a while. His name was Ray Combs. He committed suicide. He had been held for a 72 hrs. Hold because he had been suicidal. They found him in his hospital room. He had hung himself with bed sheets in the closet of his room.
