If you're looking to buy straps your probably asking what are the best wrist straps. The best wrist straps are typically the ones you feel most comfortable lifting heavy loads with. When comparing four different brands together I found the best to be the straps that had Velcro, and extra grip that wrapped around the bar. I compared the profitness, Harbinger, gymreapers, and Bear Grips wrist straps. The best wrist strap will of course be personal preference, but my winning brand went to the Profitness wrist straps. They have added cushion and excellent grip. Links below.

What about straps for bars that have rubber on them? On my row machine the rubber on the handles prevent me from tightening the straps.

You don't need them for everything you do. You could just keep that movement to higher reps and use them on other movments.

Lifting hooks are great for that thank me later

@@drewdieu6989 I actually did buy hooks for that row machine but since the handles are at an angle, the hooks just slip off

Great video, hoping to ask you a question about which straps I should get. I'm a female who can do 60 to 80 lb Romanian deadlifts with a "bench press" bar which would not be possible without "lasso" wrist straps and have no shame. My wrists and grip strength is really bad actually. Like horribly bad, so bad I need to ask strangers (other females even) at the store to open bottles. 😂 My occupational therapist measured my grip strength on my dominant hand once and I'm 1 standard deviation below the typical female grip strength. When a previous trainer would help me get the lasso straps in for the rdl's, they would be very tight and would greatly relieve the pressure off my wrists. Question is, which will give the tightest grip, quickest to put on and be the best to get on by myself? Would love to hear your opinions.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! There are so many options. Personally, I would recommend one of the profitness or harbinger staps with the velcro. They are simple and EZ to use. If you're doing a circuit or something in between sets, they won't get in the way. The profitness have a lot of padding, for some people that's a deal breaker... I think I might be a good idea to mix in some basic grip exercises. Hope that helped!!!

4:05 "but I could still use these if I was in a bind." Of course you're in a bind if you're using these. I see what you did there.

Great video for beginner of intermediate lifters, not great for those wanting to lift heavy. I would never recommend the Harbinger straps to anyone who is planning to continue to lift heavier. In fact I would never recommend them at all. These broke on day one of purchase, failed at a 220kg load. These happened with two sets, one was mine and one was my brother, after literally only a few lifts. How you kept these for 6 years is absolutely beyond me unless you've never gone above 200kg. Not durable and definitely cannot take heavy loads, and will definitely not be good for explosive lifts. The problem with most products is that they don't tell you the maximum load they can actually hold, yet alone explosively lift. They were used for three increments: 200, 210, 220 all in deadlift and snapped 3 quarters of the way up almost causing injury to my brother, for a newby who just has that freak strength they would have messed themselves up real badly. My gym has tattered cotton simple lasso straps, way cheaper than the Harbingers and they literally never fail, even after YEARS of use and abuse. They literally have cuts knicks in them and still hold 252kg easily. I'd recommend the bear straps to anyone who actually wants to still train their grip strength, grip on hand rather than bar is so that you still get that almost natural grip feeling for your hands rather than the rubber pretty much feeling like glue on the bar. Best straps? Eddie Hall lifted 500kg with the Alpha Designs 'BEAST' Figure of 8 Lifting Straps. Enough said. Additionally, any product featuring a stitched lining connecting the strap to the wrist wraps poses a potential weak point and could be hazardous, especially for serious lifters. While these straps might perform adequately for specific exercises, it is crucial to consider and communicate their load limits to prevent recommending products that could lead to injuries.

Love it. Yeah, I'm not a powerlifter. I never go anywhere near 220kg lol. I always use these as an aid, for a still somewhat controlled lift and I 100% agree with whatever Eddie hall uses lol. He's the man. Thanks for the comment and when I update this video in the future I'll include some of those other straps.

They give you little girl forearms. The best wrist straps are no wrist straps.

Lifting straps can help with hypertrophy by improving mind-muscle connection and allowing you to train muscles closer to failure. A 2013 study in the European Journal of Applied Physiology found that using straps during deadlifts reduces perceived effort and fatigue, allowing participants to perform more repetitions with heavier loads. This can help increase muscle hypertrophy and strength over time.

If you have weak grip and you wana train back you wont go far. So better grip or just have a bigger back while you can train forearms on a diferent day

Forearms must be huge then. Best to use them only on heavy exercises barbell rows etc and the rest don't use them
