Side effects of quitting smoking. Boy! What a big topic that is. So there are wonderful side effects and there are some side effects that are little painful and very uncomfortable at times. Either way they are still side effects. Most people see smoking as just being some bad habit, just one little piece, just one little aspect of their lives that they wish didn’t happen once they are thinking of quitting. However I’m here to tell you that it goes through the threat of your entire life if you are anything like me. I was a pack a day smoker for many years, and I did everything, I smoked over everything, I smoked with everything, so it went through every aspect of my life. So there were great side effects, good side effects, bad side effects and hopeless side effects. Focus on the really good ones. Focus on the fact that you won’t smell bad, you won’t look bad, you’ll have one less thing that people will be getting on your nerves about saying, WHY DON’T YA? That’s always very helpful and in fact that should you’ll be teaching people, if you have children you will be showing them that you can overcome the most difficult things. So those are the good side effects. Some of the bad side effects can be that, well maybe good actually; you might have to get rid of some people in your life. But, some of those people you may not want in your life anyway. Either way you are going to stay away from some people for a little while. Even people you love if they still smoke because that’s too triggering. And the other side effects can be really bad also like a little, weight gain, but I’m here to tell you, I gained some weight, I don’t know if you could see, but I think you can that I’m not crazily overweight anymore. Because one of the good side effects came out of that bad side effect. I gained some weight which made me decide to start exercising, which ended up being a good side effect. So you’re getting the drift? It’s a big life change and it’s a day at a time and it’s a process. So get into your process, don’t be afraid of it, get excited about, of where you are going to end up.

I smoke cigarettes for 20 years. 2 packs perday. I quit smoking suddenly due to some health issues and blood pressure is so high. Today is my 14th day of quit smoking. Totally no cigarettes.. I feel great and more breathing. Many people are said I will get sick. But so far I'm getting better and energetic.. no more drouzzy and my BP is lower now. My advice to those who are still smoke... Give up that cigarettes... It's nothing... Totally waste money and damaging your health... Still not late... Change your mind and life now... Today... And now pls

Excellent on you ! The med industry has brainwashed most. If you get through the first 3 days then the rest is easy. I smoked a box a day, drank two bottles of wine at least and smoked meth in between and have kicked this overnight without rehab. Rehab is mostly BS and a scam.

I used to be a heavy smoker too, a pack a day or so, out drinking, even more. But when I finally quit, after years of smoking, I have to say that one of the best effects that wasn't mentioned in this video was that I found it so easy to get up in the morning. Not drowsy at all, and just a great feeling that a new day has come. I was happy to wake up. Unlike when I used to be a smoker, it would take me forever to get my brain functioning- now, I don't even need that morning cup!

I'm 60 years old. Every year I have quit 5 to 6 times and start again. Today makes 15 days of not smoking. Coughing up brown specks and blotches. Not taking anything to help me quit. The urges are seldom, but every once in a while sudden. I'm afraid if I do not quit for good I will die from smoking. Alot of times something stressful happens and I start again. I hope more people like us can stop for good.

I've smoked since 16 and I'm 32 now. I quit a week ago cold turkey with no chantix or anything and I can definitely tell a huge difference in my breathing and looking forward to other benefits too. People who say they can't quit or are experiencing extreme difficulty doing so are weak. You have to internalize the fact that you're going to die earlier than expected if you don't quit, then it should be pretty easy to give them up. Good luck to all who struggle with quitting.

I quit smoking cold turkey at age 33 on 08/31/22 after smoking 3/4 of a pack a day for 14 years. I literally just stopped. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of my life. My physical & mental health have improved dramatically. I look better, feel better, smell better. To anyone out there considering quitting, just do it. The 1st week or 2 will be difficult but after that you're effectively home free. You will be very proud of yourself I promise. 💯

Keep going man! I've been cigarette for 3 days, heading towards a fourth. Definitely been tough but worth it as I'm already feeling healthier. The cravings still come quite often but no where near as intense as they were in the first 2 days and they are quite easy to fight back now. Make sure you're eating enough and keeping your fluids up, might help and it takes your mind off the smoking. Food has helped me so much through these cravings!
@ricksanchez873
@ricksanchez873 8 лет назад
AcedAMVs98 Although it hasn't even been two whole days I do indeed feel much better already. My appetite has been increasing drastically and I keep some weights underneath my desk so that whenever I get cravings I can do some curls to take my mind off of it. I have easy access to cigs in my household but I have been doing good on resisting the urge to just grab one and light it up. It's good to receive a little support even in the form of a youtube comment and I am glad to hear about other peoples' journey through quitting a nasty habit because it has helped more than anything to be quite honest. Keep it up, my friend!

25 year old male. Have been smoking for 8 years. 20 days smoke free now. Throat is somewhat sore. Coughing regularly but overall less than when I smoked. Sense of smell somewhat making a comeback. Two 3 minute cravings a day. Feeling 20% less energetic. Brain fog gone completely and so is the irritation. Appetite feels pretty much the same, although weight gain is becoming apparent. Testosterone levels definitely increasing. Feeling more manly now. Mind is calm and collected. Feeling better already. Can't wait for my first year smoke free, hell even 6 months would be awesome. I feel 100% what you feel After qutting smoking for 10-11 years, I started a few days ago again and I am shocked that this happened to myself. During this 10-11 years (and especially the past one year because of the stress level) I was randomly dreaming about smoking cigarttes and after lighting them, getting a "relief" feeling. After every hit, I was telling in my dreams to myself "ooh thats relaxing, why didnt I smoke for a while again?" Its so weird having the same kind of dream over and over again. I can't explain to myself why this happened to me.

I had tingeling in my hands and feet after I quit for about 2-3 weeks and got really worried, but it goes away.Turns out it was the increased oxygen to all the nerve endings and blood vessels that your body didn't get in years. It only gets better with time, just stay strong.

Megan Michaels don't worry, for me it lasted over a month but everyone's different. Believe it or not it's a good sign, a sign that your body is cleansing itself from all the toxins and chemicals and your blood vessels opening up and circulation improving. It only gets better ,just stay strong. I am in my early 40s and now run a mile every day and before I quit i could not climb a flight of stairs without going out of breath. Your body knows how to repair the damage but you have to give it a chance. Hope my English was ok. Good luck.

This videos wasn't very helpful. I got really bad bloating when I quit and it lasted about a month. I was so uncomfortable until I discovered peppermint tea. It really settled my bloating as it pushed the gas out of my stomach (you might burp for a while). I recommend having it in your home when you quit!

5 years I've been smoking cigarettes, then I started getting sick more, when I would breathe I could hear wheezing, my taste buds and sense of smell weren't what they use to be, I'd be out of breath walking my daughter to school. I've been smoke free for 1 week. and honestly I feel so much better. I'll get cravings sometimes if someone is smoking right in front of me, other than that I haven't wanted one. I feel great! anyone can do it. u just got to want it. don't wait until something puts your life at risk to change it. change for the better!

I have quit smoking for over a year and I am more sicker than ever. Back to back infection of strep and right now loss my voice due to a viral infection with a chronic cough. I got worried why I was so sick all the time after it's been so long after I stop smoking and found out this is more common side effect of stopping. keep fighting the good fight!

Im 25 been smoking 7ish years, switched to vape but did both. I used nicotine as a crutch for life. Im also recovering drug addict. Decided to quit this time. Rather then just try i made a promise and decided to keep it period. No matter how much it sucks. Been thru plenty of withdrawals in my life including hard drugs. This was tough. Id pair it with quitting crack. Harder then most things but not impossible. Im around 3 weeks now i think. I dont keep track. I find thru all the times i wuit things easiest way is not to keep track. Give it no thought or focus and just get thru the day. Each day as it comes. And when u get tempted or cravings just win. That simple it only sucks for so long then ur brain gets distracted. Dont focus on what u think your loosing but rather what ur gaining. Its really nice to smell the rain again. Food has more taste. Im not dumping ranch on everything for flavor anymore. Focus on the good and totally ignore the temptation. Thoughts only have as much power as u give them. Shift ur focus and win!

I quit smoking and I gained 140 pounds. After 36 years of being a slim and trim 135 pounds, I ballooned out to a ponderous 275. That's right, I more than doubled my body weight. My waist went from a 32 to a 50. I got kicked out of the navy for being obese and I lost my retirement benefits. I developed severe sleep apnea. I wish I had never quit smoking. I would go back, except this might make my weight even worse

YES.. me too and I was like someone in a daze. The day went by like a dream and I feel kinda depressed as the days went on, like i was missing a friend. I know its crazy, cigs are far from a friend. But I was kinda lost and just missed them soooooo much. However I just keep telling myself that the worse choice I ever made was to smoke and now I have made the best choice to quit. I am not giving up something I am gaining my health and money and will no longer be a slave to a drug. It helps, mind over matter and all that. But wow is it difficult. Read Alan Carrs book, mmmm dont agree with alot of what he says. I know it was a HUGE success. However all he really is doing with that book is telling you to change your thoughts.. kinda C.B.T. really. But it is f a r from easy. 2 weeks off, 30 years of a 20 a day habit. Yeah, heres hoping its nottoo late. Good luck to all on here who are trying. ☺

@@blackcreed2214 yes, there is a bit of symptoms after quitting, but it stays for very little time in a day, such 5 to 10 minutes a day for one or more time, one has to win that time, make oneself really understandable, check up and monitor, but one or half month, the craving may goes up, sometime even after 5 or six months, it comes back, but for me after successful 1 month quitting does not come back untill i take it as fun, that's dangerous, once one take after long break, there is possibility to take Cigarette again as lung is getting clearer, body is ok, then it becomes again habit, then cigarette again tastes good, that's dangerous.
