What are the Vestiges of Divergence? - Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount D&D 

I'm hoping the "Star Razor" is a listed Vestige. I would like to see the stats for it!

I am hoping for a wonderous item more so than weapons or armor, harder to acheive but would be very interesting Otherwise, more class-specific stuff, the wraps of dyamak and mythcarver were great etc. Perhaps a barbarian-specific thing that interacts with rage or a warlock thing that grants a special invocation

Not one I’m hoping to see but I made. My own vestige for my campaign one insert character. Raiba, Longsword, Artifact A Katana of the renowned Nishitani clan of Blacksmiths who lived on a secluded archipelago in the Lucidian ocean leagues off the southwest shore of Tal’Dorei this blade was made thru a Triumvirate between the Stormlord, the Allhammer and the Matron of Ravens to be weirder I’m battle against the forces of darkness Dormant- +1 to attack and damage rolls. This weapon has a number of charges each can be expended to cast certain spells starting the 5 charges. 1 charge Zephyr Strike, 2 charges Thunders step, 3 charges Haste. Spell save DC for this weapons abilities is 15 Awakened, gains +2 to attack and damage rolls. Number of charges increases to 8 gaining additional spells. 4 charges, Lightning Bolt cast at 4th level. 5 charges Steel Wind Strike Exalted: +3 to attacks and damage rolls. The weapon gains a form of sentience as the souls of previous weilders of Raiba make their prescient know. The sword is LG has 15 intelligence 20 wisdom and 16 charisma and communicates with the wielded one soul at a time and instructs as a master would instruct a student as long as the wielded is worthy. The number of charges increases to 10 and by expending 6 charges the souls of the warriors within can be called to do battle. As an action you can summon one sword wraith commander and two sword wraiths to fight on your behalf. They move on your initiative and receive their orders as they are summoned and require a bonus action to alter commands once given.

I kind of wanna see a shield vestige. Maybe a vestige of Sarenrae that could give clerics an aura like ability. Or a cloak of the traveler. I dont know what it would do but I mean... imagine jester being even more of a trickster. It could influence all of her non damage spells like dimension door and maybe have something like the marvelous pigments.

Waiting for the Vestige playable race DLC...jk. I am hoping for some mechanics on how to design our own Vestiges for our campaigns...and the integration of Vestige Homebrews on D&D Beyond!!

A Warforged, that was designed as a Vestige itself. Son of the Allhammer. Dig It

@@pranakhan Thinking about Matt's setting, a Warforged (or equivalent) could be considered as a vestige itself. Intelligent lifeform created by a powerful wizard to do their bidding. Or maybe the Warforged could be a alternative to Lichdom.

@@Valtremors using a filled soul containment gem as the "heart" of the warforge that gives it the spark of life. It taps into the soul's memories and abilities, slowly making them its own over time.

kelnhide Technically, Vestiges haven’t been revealed in campaign 2. We don’t officially know WHAT the StarRazor, despite many in the community, including myself, believe it is a vestige

@@Boom-fs2ny actually in a previous episode while Beau or Caleb was going through books in the library they has skimmed through various topics and one of them was vestiges. Now they never researched deeper into them, but it has been mentioned.

CR is a great show to watch, and has a great world behind it. I find myself using the Tal'dorei campaign setting book a lot and will probably use the Wildemount book even more

I adored that book too, even though mechanically it was a dumpster fire of epic proportions. Such flavor, such a wild idea...so terribly executed... At least Mercer has made the concept functional enough that a DM could take the concept and build their own for their campaigns

Exandria is his personal campaign setting that he has built over the years for the show Critical Role. Wildemount and Tal'Dorei are continents in that world. Before this book, he had a guide to Tal'Dorei published through another company. This new one for Wildemount is a big step because Wizards of the Coast (the guys who make DnD) is publishing this one instead. Because you're new, I can see how this "canon" bit can sound a bit confusing. There is more than one Dungeons and Dragons setting. In earlier editions of the game, it was thought that all of these different worlds (The Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Eberron, Dragonlance, etc...) were part of some larger multiverse. Most of WoTC's published adventures and setting books take place in the Forgotten Realms. In short: Matt's world, since it has a guide published by the actual developers and publishers of the game, has become part of the larger canon of the DnD multiverse.

Bonus to spell Attack Rolls & DC (DO: +1, AW: +2, EX: +3) Can Enter Enlightened State where any time you roll an Attack Roll to deliver spell damage, the minimum Nat roll to land Critical Hit is reduced by bonus (DO: +1, AW: +2, EX: +3). You enter this state as a Bonus action, requires no action to dismiss, the total time you can use this State per day is equal to the bonus in minutes (DO: 1, AW: 2, EX: 3) & resets at dawn. (AW) You can choose 1 Concentration Spell you know from either the school of Conjuration, Enchantment, Transmutation or Illusion. Once per Long rest, after touching both sleeves together as part of a somatic Spell Component, you cast this spell without using a Spell Slot & does not interfere with casting other Concentration Spell (separate Concentration Saves). The level the spell is cast at is equal to your Proficiency. You can change the chosen spell when you level up. (EX) You can choose another spell that is not the same School to gain these benefits. Each Sleeve stores a spell & the somatic component changes to touching the sleeve which spell was cast with your other hand. You can also change which spell is stored once per crescent moon (waxing for left hand, waning for right). (EX) When you enter the Enlighten state, you gain a feature of a class that is 1 level higher than your current level in the class. The feature cannot be improvements to spell slot, ability score improvements or feats.

Shield vestiges have to be hard because evn if it just became a +4 shield that is +6 to AC which is seriously hefty I meam, add on if they are attacked within x range and the attack hits (or misses?) The attacked takes y damage and the ability to cast shield from the shield with z charges to do so Perhaps a covering feature to help allies Would work But gonna be hard to balance

I mean he only keep that rest of the vestiges in Taldorei to +3 max primarily, so I’d assume it’d just have other abilities on top of being a eventual +3 shield

May I recommend "The way of kings" from the Stormlight Archives or "Warbreaker" by Brandon Sanderson for exactly such a sword? :) It's called nightblood and it wants to "Destroy all evil".
