EV's pollute as much or more the ICE vehicles when the entire life cycle of the EV is taken into consideration. The EV's tail pipe is at the power plant. What is the power plant using to generate their power? LNG, Oil, Coal, Nuclear? What about the mining for the Lithium for the batteries? not to mention the disposal of them. How this would escape anyone considering a EV is beyond me. This is just tip of the iceberg as far as ownership is concerned. If you happen to get into an accident with an EV it's astronomical cost to repair. OK, that's it for my daily rant, cheers:>

As someone who is looking to buy a new vehicle, I'm completely priced out of the market. Bought a new car in 2010 under 15k. Basically doesn't exist today. I do not need cameras, surveillance, sensors, Sirius XM, GPS and all that other crap. I need a vehicle that is reliable & can get me from A to B safely. That's it. Traffic fatalities are going to skyrocket in the years ahead unless this is taken seriously. We all share the same roads & a large % of the population can not afford new vehicles.

I live in the north, where we have snow 6 months every year. A few people tried EVS, but they just don't work when its cold. Add in the fact ALL batteries degrade AT LEAST 6% each year, more like double in cold climate. Price a battery replacement in 5 years and you'll find EVs are not even close to affordable.

I live in here in po dunk kansas, and they have 2 charging ev pumps right in the center of this one horse town... Guess what they are not in use. People living here don't have, nor do they want ev cars. They want to fill up with gas and go.

My wife, 80 years old, and myself, 73 years old, don’t own a car, EV or otherwise, but are enrolled in a Seniors Transportation program that allows us 200 miles worth of transportation per month for free, so rides are not an issue for us. However, our personal opinions are that EV cars are a problem, not a solution.

Which model was that? They haven't offered a truck in the USA for (about) a decade or more, and that was a re-branded Ford Ranger. They offer one in some overseas markets that's comparable to the Maverick & Ridgeline, but it doesn't meet EPA requirements or some safety standards, and the cost is more way more than $5,995 (like $25K USD).

Here in California they estimate up to a million acres of farm land will go out of production because of a shifting of more water resources to protect endangered species , and a new ground water law. Lake Orville is full and has overflowed the spill way this year, yet my contract allocation is only 40% on my 200 acres of contract land. I have to pay for 100% of contracted water whether I receive any or all. Is that fair ?

Ok here’s the skinny… my wife and I drive to McAllen Texas twice a year… we drive straight through takes around 16 hours.. we can get gas any time of the day or night.. gas and a potty break.. and a munchie we’re in and out in about 15 minutes..did a calculation with an EV car it would of take us 36 to 42 hrs. Granted we would find a charging station..the range anxiety would have been too much..will always drive a ICE !!

My daughter (lives in Alexandria, VA) was taking her daughter back to college last fall (to Richmond VA) in her new EV car (used, l year old EV). She encountered the same problem - severe lack of EV charging stations when she got to Richmond. Said she will take hubby's "normal" combustion car next time she does this for daughter. Kind of scary for her first time trip with it.

Calif is going to add another 25 cent per gallon "fee" for supposed infrastructure. The reason is because use of EVs have lessened the purchase of gas thus less taxes. What a complete joke. Now they are considering 30 cents a MILE driven for car owners here.

My EV car solution. Bought a used 2012 FIAT 500 in '20. Five speed. That's why it sat on the used car lot so long. Got it for a good price, even for around here. It is still runnin' good as we speak. Easy to work on.

bought my first 2 bed apartment in a nice town in the UK for 72k pounds. (at that time about 2 x my yearly salary) my dad gave me 20% for down. NO property taxes in the UK. YOU own YOUR home! but … within 12 months mortgage rates on my flexi rate went to 17% 😢. it was a total disaster. Many people lost their houses to foreclosure. Value my flat crashed by 25%. Unreal.

Went to Culvers in s.w. Wisconsin. $13.00 for their Cod fish and chips meal. It seemed ok as they are a top rated fish fry fast food place. Now is the Milwaukee Arch Diocese Catholic Parish festivals season and a plate of food goes for 20 bucks a plate as a fundraiser. We have about 8 parish festivals in town.

Value of $5,000 from 1970 to 2024 ... $5,000 in 1970 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $40,472.81 today, an increase of $35,472.81 over 54 years. Next. My wife bought a 1970 Corolla for a pittance. 4 years later, we bought a second Corolsa of the same model and the price had shot up. You want numbers? Ok. In the late 1940s, a bottle of coke was 2 cents at the PX. I remember when you could buy a coke for a nickle out of a machine at the gas station. This week, the price was not the $1 promotion like McDonald's had 10 years ago. It was $2.50! Now houses start at about $2 million I am retired, own a car with no payments, a house and have no credit card debt. How? Living within and below my means.

It's not just EV charging stations or building additions. Now they're on here telling us what we can and connot say on these comment sections. And being rather nasty at it, to boot. Recently I received a rather nasty talk down your nose box after leaving a comment. I'm 75 and have lived a fairly full and productive life. I don't deserve to have some young 30 (or 20) something telling me what is acceptable to say. Let them live as long as I have before they have the right to speak to me in such a manner. The box stated I could lose my account...blah blah blah and made me click on a circle that stated "got it?". Nasty little twerps or AI which is the next thing they intend to force feed us.

Exactly my issue with mortgage loans, it's not a safety net...I said the samething what happens when your job changes, or the interest rate never goes down...smh you do not own your home if you still pay it off and you gotta pay taxes...seems like folks need to find out if there is a actual contract with the state attorney signed by you and that attorney you will pay property taxes, or look into the 1099c tax form to cancel out that debt..🤔

There was a report last week on Americans saving. During the past years before the pandemic, Americans saved about 8% of their income. During the pandemic they were saving 30%. Right now, it has dropped to 3%. Last week on the floor of the stock exchange they were talking about this savings issue because they believe the economy is going to slow down because Americans are broke. I agree with that factual assumption. The economy is not strong, I talk to soo many of my clients and they are just surviving.

I don't understand that there is a problem: 1. YOU wanted legislation mandating features on cars; 2. YOU want to exclude foreign cars sale by raising tarrifs. 3. YOU want to buy American. 4. YOU don't want to discipline yourself to save and avoid 25% interest loans on cars. 5. YOU wanted pollution control devices on cars to save the environment. However, you wanted the government not to cut down dead, rotting and diseased trees so that 10 years of pollution save by pollution control devices were released in just one CA forest fire last year that consumed diseased, rotting trees in national forests. 6. YOU wanted CA to pull the plug on the last two nuclear reactors and stop using coal in New Mexico to generate electricity for CA. Then YOU didn't want wind turbines because they killed birds.
