What Asthma Really Feels Like: Life as an Asthmatic | Quint Fit 

Being a 10 year old kid as an Asthmatic is the worse, you can’t do most 10 year old girls do, playing, running, doing all the sports I love. All my dreams disappeared when I was 6, I had an Asthma Attack at school in class. More than 20 kids were looking at me as I was a maniac, they thought I was going to die, I don’t have an Inhaler for Mild Asthmatics so I thought I was literally going to die. Until I heard, one of my friends Molka shouting to the teacher saying: “CALL 911!!” My teacher did and I was thankful she did, when the ambulance arrived they looked at my lungs and said: “She’s okay, you’ll need to call her mom to go to the ER and we’ll get her to there.” Teacher Sofia (My Class Teacher) called my mom to go to the ER, my mom was literally crying, While I was there suffering to breathe,wheezing and coughing. Every breathe I took, the doctors looked happier because my breathing was intense. 4 years later, I’m better. Not having attacks anymore, I’m just suffering with breathing, cough and wheezing. Still don’t have an Inhaler but I’m okay. I think I’ll need one eventually when my parents start to realise I need one. Hope no one goes through this!

I'm in my mid-30s now, and asthma has been part of my life since I was 2. I always have my inhaler with me in my handbag, and am always aware of the potential triggers around me. Although I haven't had an attack while being intimate, I have been wheezy afterwards. 🙃 As a teenager, my asthma was pretty bad (inhaler + several medications every day), but as an adult I have found that it is in "remission" (inhaler only for exercise and no other medications needed). I fear that someday (hopefully not for decades) it will come back and be terrible again. 😨

Asthama puts you into depression I had it since I was 12, still continuing, I have an inhaler , my class mates bully me because I can't run can't catch an ball asthama medicine made my joints so weak that I even throw an ball properly. 1 week before getting to know about my condition my weight was 52 kg ( 114 lb) but after taking hell amount of medicine and inhaler pump for 1 week straight my weight increased to 59 kg /130lb( I didn't eat anything that week except soup and glucose that week as advised by the doctor) I was shocked to see my weight and when I asked the doctor about it he told me it was an side effect of the medicine. ASTHAMA IS NOT WORSE THAN CANCER BUT NEITHER LESS

2 days ago I felt thus way, as she said, it felt like I was breathing through a straw. Today I was diagnosed with asthma, I got an inhaler and spacer.😔

Is it normal for an asthma attack to give you rapid heart rate? I feel all of these symptoms, random rapid movements can cause it. Just wondering if the pounding heart sensation is accompanied sometimes with the rest of the feelings.
