In regards to Cohen's credibility, I think the best thing he can do is admit to his behavior when working with the defendant, because it's exactly the kind of behavior his boss wanted from him. It's been said that the defendant is complaining that his current lawyers aren't aggressive enough, so it fits the profile.

Honestly. His best strategy is to admit to the Stormy and McDougal affairs. The angle that he made a mistake and didn't want to embarrass his wife might just play well with a jury. What won't play well is responding to multiple witness testimonies, text conversations about the affair and cash trails concerning the affair with " nuh-uh. I don't know those women. I'm innocent. Nobody's more innocent than me. A guy came up to me, big guy, strong guy, tears flowing from his eyes and said "sir, nobody's more innocent than you." That kind of thing insults a jury's intelligence and makes them turn hostile fast.
@@mhall801 No chance of that happening. David Pecker was a strong first witness. Cohen's just going to be the witness that gets the most hammering because he hates Trump. But there's plenty of others (Pecker, the accountant, Hope Hicks, McDougall) that are less partisan and will overwhelm that bias.

This trial involves a confidential agreement between two parties. Confidential agreements are not illegal. Confidential agreements happen every day between individuals, businesses and corporations. Well, he was fined the legal maximum ... this time. Next time could be jail. The judge does have to follow a progression. Going straight to jail time could be interpreted as denial of due process, and you can bet his lawyers would jump all over that opportunity.
