One thing I believe is important on this topic is song choice in worship. It's hard to worship to the fullest if a song has errant theology and/or is just not biblically sound. There are several songs on the "worship circuit" if you will that fail to focus on Christ. Some songs contain lyrics that misinterpret scripture. Many songs these days are produced by organizations that have faulty teaching by their leaders and staff. Many songs, of course, are peppered with biblical truth, yes, but there are those few lines that go off the deep end. We must be very discerning in this area.

Not sure I understand this or how corporate worship should be done since people usually come to church with a lot on their minds with the challenges they are going thru. That is why I would encourage them to lay aside what is on their minds for a while to worship God. I would love an example of how corporate worship should be done. The scripture in Corinthians in my understanding was talking specifically about the breaking of bread, remembering how the Lord's body was broken for us.

When we come together as a church, it is an opportunity to declare truths into the lives of those around us...especially to the ones who are struggling. We come together with hurts and pains and rejoicing and praise. Some may show up with lots of hurts and pains. If, we all chose to do personal worship on Sunday mornings, we can simply mouth the words in our minds and hearts and declare the truths to ourselves. But that is not the point. The point is to serve and love one another..to speak truth and spiritual songs to each other. That is why we are to praise out loud as a body of believers...to allow others to hear and be encouraged by the truths they hear through the songs we sing.

When people talk during corporate worship, showing disrespect for those leading in corporate worship, it does not edify The Body. Actual yelling and laughing loudly in “personal” conversations hinder the purpose of coming for corporate worship. Why can’t they come earlier or stay later to have these distracting, loud “personal” conversations?
