I’m an older lady (60+) and I’ve been jumping rope about 30 minutes a session several days each week since May 2020. I found the jumping rope has strengthened my hips, which is so important as we age. Hip strength is related to good balance. So please add hips to the parade of body parts that are made stronger from jumping rope!
Thanks for sharing. I’m still in my 30s but I’m doing this for longevity and was very excited when I learned about the increased bone density especially in ankles and feet. But the hip information has me super excited! I remember my grandmother having hip problems and it really did her in. Trying to avoid that fate.
One of my gym mate regularly criticize me while iam doing jump rope in gym for 20-30 min daily ..he will say jump rope will not help in weightloss instead only exercise like running ,abs ,squats will !! . BUT guess what after 45 days of continuous jump rope I had showed my result that I had reduced from 107 to 98 kg through proper jump rope and normal calorie deficit diet .......Just [Do the thing] #jumpropedudes 🔥🔥🔥🔥⭐💪💪💪...Proud of myself yet a long way to go 🤗🔥🔥
I have been doing 15-20 mins/day for about a month now, and am really feeling the burn in my core and thighs. Shoulders and back, slightly--but definitely my core and thighs! I feel a definite difference, and this is one of the easiest, cheapest, and quickest workouts I've ever done that works my whole body!
I am 58 and about 70 pounds overweight. I can only do about 300 jumps in reps of 30 as my heart is hitting max quite quickly. Only been doing this for a few days, I can feel it working my lower back more than anything. I can't wait to get better and fitter. Thanks for the inspiration chaps, Let's get it done ;-).
I'm doing 15 minutes of jump rope every day and it's helped me lower my blood pressure and lose weight, which is great. To those who claim that jumping rope isn't effective for weight loss, consider what you eat. If you eat fast food meals like pizzas and burgers, and other food that containes a lot of calories you won't lose a lot of weight doing jumpropes, so don't blame jumprope for your lack of weight loss. Because jumprope is one of the best workout exercises you can find and do at home.
You guys have been an inspiration for me, from overweight to now being able to see my own abs, I started jumping rope everyday with your workouts and now it's part of my daily life. You've created an amazing community JRD! Keep up that great work!
Yeh started jump roping today and when i was done i felt so cleared, like i was absorbing all of my environment and felt so aware and in tune with just everything in front
I’ve been doing a variety of your workouts and some (not a lot) weightlifting for just over a year now and I’ve gone from slightly overweight non-muscly dude to slim athletic dude who gets comments on his physique often. I’m still going, with no plans to stop. Thank you for your channel.
I’ve been skipping every day before my workout. I’ve been seeing a lot of improvements in leg growth especially with leg day. And just improvements in general. Love the exercise. Used to do it with boxing but can’t stop. It’s been helping with coordination.
I'm 40 years old, 5'8, 185 pounds (20 pounds overweight). Most of my weight is in my stomach area. I can do 60-70 jumps in less than one minute. I'm on day two and can do 8 sets of 60-70 jumps (500 per day). After 60 to 70 jumps, I need almost 5 minutes to recover. I'm completely out of breath. 😢 I haven't worked out a day in my life, and I'm hoping that this will get easier. I read that doing more than 500 jumps as a beginner isn't advisable. The goal is to gradually build up.
quick counting steps and try one of our ten minute workouts. make sure you are eating to support your goals. Get consistent and you'll see results! www.youtube.com/@JumpRopeDudes/search?query=10%20minute
My son reduced his weight from 100 kg to 78/in six months with now skipping 2000 in ten stretches.. I am 64 and reduced my almost 10 kg of weight weight with stopping to eat roti and chawal and eating only daal and legumes and lots of vegetables and fruits in 3 months mostly on my tummy and thighs.i regularly walk 3km everyday.but young people can active this with skipping ropes.
This is why I love jump rope! The only problem in jump rope is that, it's very addictive. Thank you for a nice explanation JRD! Hoping to learn new tricks, and combos! 💪 -Jayson from Philippines 📍
I used to be a runner but have recently lost interest in running and am looking at different forms of cardio. I discovered your channel today and will definitely be giving jumping rope a try. Thank you for this informative video.
Jump rope kicks ass! I lost 13 pounds in one month by doing 70 minute (2 sets of 35 min) jump rope sessions. Along with 6 mile walks I feel like I get better at day to day movement even with my heavy weight. I just love how easy it is to burn 1000 calories an in hour. My only regret is wishing i had started earlier 😅
It would be so awesome if you guys would do some more vids with your Mom, or aunties, or anyone over 55. It would be very inspiring. Also I could use it to convince my mom to jump rope. I already showed her Chef Babette’s mind blowing 71st birthday workout!
@@JumpRopeDudes Yes please showcase some older folks over 55 like moi... I jump rope in Saint Lucia where I live in the Caribbean and am over 54....turning 55 this year!
I can do 200-250 at a time. But I have been doing 2 sets each morning so far. I want to start doing 3 sets daily for each week. I hope to increase the jumps per set to 350 or more by the end of Sept, so I can do at least 1000 jumps each morning before going to work.
I've found jump rope has improved my endurance and balance for yoga poses and yoga has really helped me stretch out and prevent injury and aches from jump rope.
Glad you guys had these videos. I decided to jump rope recently. I'm glad I did. It is a boost to my mental health. I loved jumping rope as a kid and figured it would help me stick with exercise since I loved it so much. Have had my weighted jump rope for over a month and I'm seeing improvement in muscles in legs, arms and back. Mental clarity is also improving. Thank you for having these videos for all to see. 💜💕💪🔥👑🔥💪💕💜
Im going to start once my rope comes in the mail! Im 17 and started gaining weight when i was around 9 due to depression and coping with food. Im currently around 230lbs, and I plan to drop to 150lbs by the time I graduate high school in june of 2024. Will be doing that 30 mins a day, hopefully get up to 2-3k jumps per day. So glad I found this challenge.
Does jump rope really do anything for the physique? I’m not that convinced. Weight loss and definition is 90% diet with some impact from resistance training. I certainly agree about jumping rope being highly valuable for reducing blood pressure and resting heart rate. I’ve witnessed that first hand myself. It’s an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise.
Another great JRD video. All of this content makes total sense, plus the fact that this is a truly fun workout also adds to both one's mental and physical fitness. For me, I love pretty much all forms of exercise, but for some reason, jumping rope takes less motivation to get started, even on those days when a person is feeling lazy. Compare that to running, also great, but man, on some days it's very tough to feel like going for a run, not to mention those days when some body part is not feeling that great. I haven't experienced that with jumping rope. The WODs on your channel are also great, because of their efficiency. Thanks so much, JRDs.
I already did jump rope about 2 months now 2000-2500 skips a day. Definitely seeing results, although my weight didn't decrease tremendously, I can see my abs now. Maybe body recomp?
I have to been doing your "10 min beginner jump rope workout" for 5 years now and I can't believe I haven't been subscribed to the The Jump Rope Dudes yet up until now... I subscribed just now
I just got my Jump rope for a few day so far I love it.And I want to do it every but I have to start slowly and work in to it can’t wait to see my results.
I just tried jump roping since I'm a stay at home mom and I keep stepping on the rope. 😅 Gonna keep trying at it with some music I hope I can improve on my steps.
HELLO!! Brandon, and GOOD MONDAY MORNING!! Thanks for another great video. You guys are the best. Keep up the great work on your channel. Have a great blessed rest of the day. 👍👌😊💯❤
New to the channel. I've been thinking about starting jump roping but I don't know if it's a good idea for me or not due to health issues. I just had my first child ever and went to lose weight and be active with my kid. Would jump rope be safe for me because I've torn ligaments in both ankles? I've also have carpal tunnel and both wrists and I have a shoulder neck injury , where I cannot even lean on a table with my head and my palm because it would hurt my neck ( injury from my job )?
Thinking of using the KD 15 for jump rope. Another option will be the Paul George 3. Although in your video you prefer the PG 2, but reviews say PG3 has a better bounce. And it's a 2nd because it seems scarce and no longer listed on the Nike website Lastly will be the Nike Pegasus 39 because I also run/walk 2-3 miles a day. So being a run shoe gives best of both worlds. Jump and run in 1 sneakers. Especially when I travel so I don't have to pack 2 shoes. (I personally have the Brooks Adrenaline 22 for running and I'm good with that) so the running part of the shoes purpose isn't a priority. Any advise on my choices or any other option on your mind?
Your channel videos are extremely amazing and informative to watch , your way of explanation is great and I would definitely add jumping rope in my routine for weightloss . Thanku sir ...🙏🏻
Thanks. What most people forget, it's a lot of fun (loved it as a kid) and is also good for hormonal balance (and can help with libido 🤫). But that is true for many cardio exercises, I guess.
I just do 7 rounds of 3.5 mins with 1 min rest between on the 1lb rope. Great conditioning for a fight. Hoping yo start doing the 2 lb forna round or two sometime
i have been having knee pain for a long time, and am obese. will jumping rope affect my knees? i feel jump rope will help me lose weight but scared that my knees will hurt more. am in my early 50s.thanks.
I decided to jump rope because my heart tends to beat at over 110 while resting, and because i want to be more active. But wow a bit over 500 jumps and then i couldn’t walk for 3 days because of how sore my calves get. But it’s okay, i jumped again as soon as it didn’t hurt anymore, and i jumped a bit more, it took 2,5min less, and my heart MH was 151 instead of previously 170. I had no idea it also worked wrists and forearms, as well as shoulders, i’ve been doing exercises for those things too, so i’m glad jumping also helps that. It takes 90 days to develop a habit, so i hope my calves will get used to it soon or it will take me a year at this rate haha, but i want to be able to jump daily. Maybe then i’ll survive going for jogs.
I'm doing 2000 jump ropes in morning and 1000 in the evening, literally lost 3kg in a week, can't wait to lose all the excess fat and bring out those abs🔥
Is it okay to do this?↓ For the first week I'll do 1mins of Rope Jump, 2nd week 2mins and so on?!. (I currently do Calisthenics - no equipment and i would like do the workout like this: Run/Walk Stairs 167 2X > Morning Stretching > Warm-up > 1 Minute Skipping > Then the actual Calisthenics Workout!
Wow, clicked on the link and realized I have to protect my rope too. I thought I got a bad rope, didn't know the floor made it bad @really wish I could afford the whole set for weight loss. There's a whole bunch of stuff I didn't know about jumping ropes until I stumbled on this page, it was really helpful.
Six pack abs in thumbnail=views Anyway jokes aside, jump rope is one of the best cardio you can do. They won't build muscles not even close to weight training (eh it may build your gastrocnemius and soleus). But they are super calorie burner and can help you reach lower body fat percentage.
I just ordered a set than found out I have arthritis in my knees! I did get a mat so I'm not jumping on concrete anymore. I'm wondering if this is wise for me to continue doing or should I send my ropes back once they arrive?
def jump with a mat, good shoes, you can wear a knee support. but it's hard to say, check with your doctor first, but I hope you can continue to do the thing ⚡️
The Universe had to lead to lead Me to this video, because definitely wasn't searching for it... Unless GOOGLE LISTENING so hard to private conversations in my home? Either way, totally thankful. Been jumping for about 2 wks and OUCH... My knees. Oh yeah, and getting out after 15 jumps. But U know what? Those are excuses.... Even though My Knees get sore & ache. Ordered a mat to jump on... Hope it helps. I don't want to quit... I'm enjoying jumping rope. Perhaps it'll help get some of belly & booty fat down. #jumpitoff
So glad you are skipping, but if you are feeling knee pain, you're likely doing something wrong. Join our community so we can give you some feedback so you can progress without pain.
I have Crossropes and love them but got bored jumping rope, especially when gyms re-opened. At the gym, I have so many options. I can swim or run on a treadmill and get lost in thought or watch a show non-stop. With Crossropes, I stop every 30 seconds because it’s hard. Therefore I burn fewer calories. Yet I just bought another set. 🤦🏾♀️
Oh man, you need to challenge yourself, set some new PRs or try different tricks, maybe? Do whatever exercise you like but I find that between the different moves, and being able to skip in beautiful locations zoning out to my fav music, it's just the best 😀
i started from yesterday i did 300 x 6 sets i jumped 50 time each and take a break for 5-10 seconds and today i only did 200 and i am portion controlling to and im eating less will it help me to loose my weight? Please im a beginner guide me someone
It's hard to tell, here's a few things that should help you if you're trying to lose weight: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LxMyk9uc0iM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cFjMvmVvtXk.html Hope this helps!
This is really good because I've hurt my right shoulder, idk how but I did and in general I have very weak shoulders. Plus I play guitar so I gotta hold my arm up while strumming fast and the other arm is holding the guitars weight while playing chord and goodness the cramps I get from that. I may start jump roping because of this and for cardio and stronger forarms which I rarely workout on the days I exersice.
How does jump roping differ from just regular jumping or jump while holding onto something like a 2lb dumbbell? For jump roping vs jumping with a small dumbbell, is it better core for jump roping?
The cognitive awareness is different. You’re making all sorts of calculations in regards to prediction, depth perception, timing, etc. when jumping a rope. That develops a lot of coordination that just jumping with a dumbbell wouldn’t develop.
I thought I was starting gradually with jumping rope with 30 seconds on 30 off for ten or fifteen minutes. Wound up injuring a calf muscle. Still dealing with it 6 months later. Who the heck injures a calf muscle??? Doing physio now. Fingers crossed.
MY LEG HURT SO BAD WHAT DO I DO? i started with 10 mins every day for one week, and my right leg hurts so bad i can't do it even for 5 mins now. I'm scared to rest 2-3 days as I think I'll lose my progress and I won't be as consistent as I am right now.
One of the things that I notice when I start my jump rope routine is for the first around five minutes my body tenses up, and no matter how I try to relax it, it does it every time. I do a stretch routine before I start, but it does it every time. After that, my body eases. How do I stop this?!?
I am 57 years old male. I would like to start jump rope workout but concerned about knees. How to do jump rope workout without hurting knees and ankle? Pl advise
I have strange genetics that. It is almost 100% icelandic with some scottish. I have an insane propensity to gain muscle, and I find that working my bones and connective tissue allows my body to add more mass. I've been jumping rope for 3 weeks now and went up in weight 15lbs, I'm leaner, and my six pack is visible for the first time in my life. It's the most effective strength training I have done.
Hi brother your videos super information I have a small dout skipping control hair fall and it 'imrove hair growth Tell me brother I am waiting your reply
Do you guys suggest jumping rope if your hormones are currently in an unbalanced state? Working on balancing them with nutrition but just wondered if it would be detrimental currently because systemic issues.
I did exercises at least 3times a week but I avoid jumping rope.. after I watch this video I should alternate my exersise routine Wich is jumping rope atleast 10mins. This video makes more Inspire....
I go for a walk daily for 30 min in the morning. I have become interested in jump roping seeing your site. What is best do it before my daily walk or after ? I have only my mornings free. Tks
It's good for losing all fat but you cannot spot reduce. Nutrition is important, too. try this workout! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aBAeOYYj7Dg.html
I’m working out to gain weight. How long do I need to jump rope for in a day, and out of the week, 3 days, I do lower body. The other 2-3 days, can I jump rope without messing up my goal of gaining weight?
