Wow. I'm a big fan of Project Farm and this just felt like Project Fish to me. Great job, really appreciate the information and the work involved. Quality production too. Anyway I'm off to find some of your other test videos.
These videos take a ton of time and effort, i appreciate you watching them. I have a few others I think are equally as interested. And I’m sure they do… I haven’t heard anything though 😂😂
Before clicking on this video I had my own personal favorite braid and I'm glad these tests matched up with my own personal experience. Power pro super slick is definitely my favorite braided line that I've tried.
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to do it! I was surprised at how much higher the breakpoint was versus the actual rating of the line. Didn’t expect that.
-I've been trying to figure out how to take knots out of the equation in my line tests. I would not have come up with your method in 100 years. Well done!
I just came across your channel and this test was very helpful. I appreciate the time and energy you’ve put into this test especially with the power pro on the abrasion test! 😂I know that took some patience!
Great video, using a tensionless hitch was definitely a good idea, something else you could add is a snatch test and stretch test. The variety of results on the abrasion test are because of changing the angle while pulling
Tight Lines Braid. It's actually made in the USA by a small company. The color stay perfectly. It is very smooth and soft. It is an excellent 8 strand solid. They also have hollow core.
I am kind of stuck on power pro, it works for me . Wind knots are a problem with low poundage, light lures and strong winds …. But you learn casting techniques to keep that to a minimum..
Power Pro Braid is the only line I use for Braid. The cost, value, durability and fishability. Then for Fluorocarbon, I've always used P-Line. Same thing... cost, value, durability and fishability are amazing.
Seems like my love for power pro is valid. Thanks for the great video. Ive tried many braids. I feel power pro just doesnt quit. When a fish wraps you around a limb or some big pad stems. The only line i trust is power pro
I think if you made the speed and angle of the pulls and releases more consistent, that would make for more accurate results. If the speed is varied than the uneven heating of the line can be an unwanted variable. Also, a varying angle would give more or less pressure/surface area and thus variable abrasion on the line as well. In any case, I think this is a great idea. I hope you can do one on abrasion between types of lines (braid, fluoro, mono). Looking forward to this series!
Man am I glad I stumbled across your channel! (Already liked and subscribed) I'm going on a boat named The Yankee Capts 4 times in the next 3 months. These trips are 4 and 5 days long,100 miles plus into the Gulf of Mexico out of Key West. I'm doing both "lite" less than 400ft, and deep drops up to 1000ft. I'll be primarily slow pitch jigging but I'll soak a dead bait if necessary. I've been looking for a 20lb - 30lb 8 strand braid with a diameter less than .01, preferably in the .006 range due to depths we'll be in. Also the Diawa Saltiga 50 is listed to hold 65lb/610, 80lb/460. So I'll probably need about 50% more than this. This was immensely interesting and informative. I can't wait to see your other videos. Keep up the awesome work!
Appreciate that man, good luck on your trip. I have made more of these videos recently that I think are better.. feel free to take a look.. thanks for watching
All braid is either 8 or 4 strand? I use 16 strand, 12 and a spool of 9 strand. This is hopelessly out of date and buying from Amazon outside the US is a guarantee of spending 3 times more than ebay and 4 times more than Ali.
I've used three of these lines. Began with Piscifun. It was ok, but very course to the touch. It came off the spool slower in comparison so not as much casting distance. Smackdown was the smoothest to the touch and worked well. Currently using PowerPro and like it very much. I switched from Smackdown to PowerPro because Smackdown only sold in 150yd spools which was a waste for my needs.
@@DishesandFishesI have a question would this test be similar results percentage wise with higher pound braid I just got some 80 lb suffix 832 braid and this vid is giving me second guesses
You should do this test using Ohero Advanced Braid. I have never broken this line under actual fishing conditions and I.ve been using it for 20 years. Ohero 15lb test is .12mm, Their 25lb is .20mm and their 30lb is .24. I
I've been using power pro for like 15 years. When I first bought it I could tell it was some decent line cause it would hardly cut with nail clippers which is what I usually use to cut tag ends on the boat
Came across your channel so underrated! I’ve used 832, the ssv2, and the smack down. I’ve found that for casting the seaguar actually casts better than the other two but that’s me just sharing a little info cause this information stuff you do is awesome!
Fantastic tests. I would love to see this replicated with kastking superpower as it is commonly touted as the best "bang for the buck" braid and it is on the thin side.
Thought powerpro would fair the best. My concern now is Amazons accuracy. Is it possible they “fudge” the truth for increased sales. How does a person verify how many products?
Loved your tests dude great job very fair and scientific. Lots of time involved in doing these tests for us. Thanks . Really cool to watch. I love using power pro v2. Also just subscribed dude👍👍
@@DishesandFishes I'd like to see Diawa x4 x 8 100% flouro compares to those others. Or even leader material vs non leader material flouro. I was surprised with the flouro test on P line doing so much better than Seagar for abrasion but that's why people like yourself do these tests is to see if the claims are true 👍
Like cho bạn
Hey I've enjoyed watching these line tests so much! In next test videos, could you please do a stretch test as well? To measure sensitivity I guess? I hope your channel grows!!
Strange, this is the exact opposite of my personal experience. I've always felt Seaguar was far and away the most abrasion resistant and strongest. Have had too many breakoffs to count with power pro. I also have a lot of good experience with 832. This is not at all what I would have expected.
I'm fairly confident that the Superslick V2 is so abrasion resistant due to the strange "slick" coating that is applied from the factory. I would love to see how it performs after being fished for a month when the coating is mostly off.
love the content. keep doing tests.. like stretch, knot strength, casting distance on spin vs baitcaster etc. . You might consider doing bucket tests with knots instead of wrapping the line to mimic real life. perhaps the suffix break strength with a knot is still around 15 lbs.. but maybe whenyou put a knot into the power pro, it also breaks around 15 (so they design the line itself to be stronger, to account for that).. just a thought. nevertheless.. you def earned a subscriber here
Thank you so much man very nice video ..true i am happy because i have to kind of braid line one is kastking i hope you make testing on this line also i hsve power pro both lines is strong. Thanks again Have a good time🌷
PP Super Slick V2 is fantastic line. I recently got some Berkley X9 for use on my spinning reels. It's very limp and casts better than the PP. Haven't had any issues yet. Wouldn't recommend it on baitcaster though. Tried it on one and it's so fine that it digs horribly.
I ordered a pscifun reel once, it was absolute dog shit. Can't imagine their line is any better. I like Daiwa J braid the best for feel and castability, but power pro and sufix 832 are both up there and I'll pick either one I can get on sale.
I'd suggest this test is flawed. The dowel should be changed or the horizontal travel should be limited for every test. This doesn't give much data . But I appreciate the test and it's well produced.
Great tests, very well done. But I don't really understand the american way of thinking about fishing lines. I select diameter to fit the situation, and then I compare breaking strain at the same diameter. I don't select line based on the claimed breaking strain. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to compare a .14 line to a .22 line just because they claim the same breaking strain. I mean, obviously they don't have the same breaking strain and if they did, well that's the winner right there. The real take away here is that power pro dominated the test as it had a higher breaking strain than the two thicker lines. Sufix was the worst by far, at .22mm could barely outperform the cheapest .14mm line you could find. Anyway, great video, after seeing this test my seatrout reel is getting new line as it was filled with Sufix 832 coastal camo.
Came across your channel love your testing methods! Wonder if you would go back and do the strength test again with the flourcarbon like you did here with the Braid I use cheap flouro cause line isn’t cheap for something have to replace frequently lol
I love the onyx I didn’t like the power pro regular not the super slick bc it snap on me sometimes when throwing lures if I backlashed or something but onyx never has and it’s cheap but I haven’t tried the super slick but why bother the onyx does almost as good for almost half the price okay I didn’t watch the whole video when I finished it’s not as durable in the water test but it’s not as thick either so keep that in mind and it’s 4 stran
Onyx performs just as good as power pro. With the deception of slightly weaker line. If I had to choose a braided fishing line on a budget piscifun onyx will be the line I choose. If I was not on a budget I would go with powerpro.
I wouldn't say it's deception of weaker line, they are all rated 15lbs it's the only one that averaged ~15lbs. Note the line diameter it's much smaller. If you were to compare them diameter to strength it's almost identical performance to the seaguar.
