Me, who only uses 1 brush: "Hmmmm... interesting."

For those who don't use this drawing program! Depending on what you use (Magma Studio Pro for me), you can adjust the density, opacity, and hardness of brushes to get a similar effect. You may not get all the cool textures, but use them right, and you can really make your drawing good! Remember, the brush is only as good as the artist! EDIT: Forgot to add size. Crosshatching brushes can be done with a size one round brush and patience!

Best brush is the one that can both make soft edges and hard shapes, makes carving out shapes much easier.

The Hard Round is really **that** versatile, holy crud

For those reading this or watched the video, you should never worry about having more than one brush to work with. in Photoshop, for example, you can easily do a full illustration with the Hard Round Brush only; full of textures, highlights, shapes, whatever ya want. it's not a matter of tools, it's "how much you know to use the tools". Also: patience is the key for art; years and years of practicing daily too. Never put the bulls in front of your wagon. Take your time and have fun with it.

I’m starting to color my art on procreate but I struggle with making textures and making edges pop off of the background, so I just blamed the brush. This video was kind of a wake up call. Thank you

I've been trying and failing to create good brushes to paint with for almost 2 years know. Finally made some sketching and line art brushes I'm happy with but I've had no luck with shading. Paint Tool Sai 2 btw. I feel it's going to take me another 2 years to create them. I've tried brushes several people have made but they all leave the shading with a "Muddy" look. Currently I'm experimenting with just using the basic airbrush tool and the eraser. Instead of focusing on finding the right brush. Still not happy with the results but at least I'm starting to see improvement. Main reason I haven't had much practice with shading is because I just wasn't finishing anything. I was and am still unhappy with everything. I practice more than I actually draw at this point. Just studying references and doing figure drawing. Over and over, never able to get it quite right. I finally reached a point were I just had to finish something, anything. Attempted to shade it but just gave up and 3 tone shaded it. I keep thinking I'm on the verge of getting something that is at least average, maybe I already am. But the months go by and I see little results. It's already been almost 3 years and I've probably only finished a hand full of drawings.
