this is a bike that was built over a long winter and it shows, steampunk meats a motor head. lets dig it out of storage and see if it will fire up and ride,
Yeah, I was thinking either that thing should be in a museum for either motorcycles or even folk art! Do you also think maybe Mustie missed his true calling as a prop designer for Hollywood? Certainly seems to me that bike could have been in a Goonies remake or something…
I followed along years ago when you first built the bike. Still amazed at how you just used what you had laying around. Can’t wait to see you build another one
I also appreciate the fact that Mustie has never forgotten where he came from. I’ve had the privilege of meeting several youtubers over the last 11 years and some have sadly forgotten where it all started. Thank you Mustie1 for keeping your channel the same as it has all ways been
@AfterSauto i have a friend who wanted a trailer for his chevy s10 pickup. he found someone who was selling another one that was one year older than his but had a blown motor. he talked the guy down on his price and bought it for $150.00 bucks. he got it home and removed the cab and motor/transmission and cut up the framed and welded it all together and and made the pick up bed into a trailer. the truck also has a cap on it so it worked out very nice if you gad to haul stuff you did not to get wet when it was raining...
Not only do you know engines and teach so well, you are also an amazing artist!! Not to many people that could do what you do brother!! Look forward to seeing a new build!
A pleasant surprise this morning. Glad to see you bringing this bike out again. I know how much fun it was for you. Make another one bro ! Good for your mental health.
Wow was that 7 years ago, I remember watching when you built it. Time flys. Those tea pots on the end of the exhaust are a crack up 😂. One of my favourite builds
That bike is too cool!!! You are so talented and creative. I'm sure when Mustie rides through the neighborhood the neighbors are thinking..."there goes the mad scientist again".
I remember that build well. I was amazed how you found and chose the parts to give it a unified look. That little teapot (or whatever it is) with the flapping lid is really a hoot. Thanks for bringing this back into view again.
*Darren, Thanks for the memories of seeing this bike again. Yep it is TIME to build another one. In fact why not bring them all out into one video and seeing them all running again.*
Like quite a few in the comments, I remember when you built this, the catering store items etc. I think it's time to build another, for all our mental health goodness. It's been a blast watching you wrench stuff over the years buddy, thank you Charlie 🇬🇧
Thanks Mustie. I got hooked on your channel when you built this bike. You said you built these to Improve your mental health, some of us watch you work and talk to us to improve ours. Many thanks. Stray
I discovered your channel then back-binged into this build. It's truly a prodigious display of talent and creativity! Talent in the mechanical assemblage, creativity in the gorgeous aesthetics. It's mechanical art of the highest degree! A legacy build that'll outlive us all.
These bikes you made are truly works of art Darren! Thanks for showing us! I remember a video a while back where you showed us all of the creations you made like this. Love the channel and keep up the awesome work!!!
Very cool!!! I watched my power mechanics teacher(pig farmer) rebuild an early 2 stroke washing machine motor way back in high school. You were on the path of righteousness as a kid, this engenuity proves it! Thanks for the awesome videos over the years
I love that even with TWO engines installed, you can still pedal the bike. You are a master of fabrication! Plus steampunk is a great theme to build something like this on. THE TEAPOTS! LOL They get me laughing every time.
Hey guys and how's it going? Like I have said a million times, you are incredibly gifted!!!!! Your abilities to build, troubleshoot and repair mechanical devices leaves me speechless!!! I'm glad you are enjoying your motorbike and the time it took to build it. Later!!!!!
What a beautiful creation! absolutely American and gorgeous. I remember when you built this. I especially like the rear fender but there are so many innovations like jewelry all over that bike. I love it!
One of my personal favorite builds to watch, truely knocked it out of the park!!Love your dogs tags, and I do miss seeing the ol girl from time to time
Perhaps the most original, clever, and skillful builds I've ever seen. To get an OCC chopper look while using restaurant supply pieces is a work of creative genius! Amazing.
I don't know if you know this, but you can get a freewheel for the crank (not for a one piece crank though, only a 3 piece). By using a freewheel on the crank, you can still pedal, but you can still run the power through the chaning without forcing the pedals to turn.
These home built “motorcycles “ are what brought me to your channel in the first place. Would love to see another. Love the creativity and backyard engineering
What an absolute gem! one of your finest projects , love stuff like this where junk pieces are re-purposed in the most unlikely way, terrific result and like you say, even better than putting 30.000$ in a 10.0004 bike, brilliant! inspiring, keep 'm coming!
What an awesome creation !!!!!! when i found your channel I watched all the videos you shared on these builds. I enjoy them all. You should do more !!!!
I´ve been following this channel for years but this build... I´m kinda lost for words. Just... genius! Creative, tasteful and technically so well presented. This has to be "The Chef´s Bike"! Gordon Ramsay´s choise!? I´m in awe! Thank you Darren for sharing this with us!
The jury's in, keep up the inspiring work! Hard to say what next.... I always love your appreciation of nature. You often have something at the end of your videos. Maybe something designed for off-road...and quiet, and clean. Cheers, Pete
Remember when this was built! Nice to see it still kicking about. Your talk about wanting to do more and more on future builds reminds me a lot of one of the early steam car makers.. I think it was doble, every car was slightly different as he kept thinking of new things and different ways to do things..
But they are...? The MSVA inspection requirements aren't too bad as long as you confirm to the "low power moped" category, [defined as a moped with pedals, with auxiliary propulsion not exceeding 1kW, and a maximum design speed not exceeding 25km/h (16mph)]
Sure wouldn’t mind another build series this winter. Watched every other bike build you’ve done and enjoyed them thoroughly. Plus I could use some inspiration cause I need to build one for a mini bike race next year
Love that bike, highly enjoyed the build at the time. Would love to see a new one maybe themed like this one is. Perhaps from decorating supplies? Rollers, brushes, ladders, paint cans or something like that?
Has it been seven years? Wow. I remember watching those videos. Still very cool. Back then I would have said "Thanks, and Woof to Lilly." Now, thanks for the reminder and the ride-a-long.
Ohhhhhh Please do another!!!!!! Love when you ask us for ideas while you build too even if you don't use the ideas it gets us involved!!!!! Either way build one!!!!
I recall when you made that bike using the ice cream scoops to help scoop air onto the head, and of course the tea pots for your exhaust. I was blown away with your skills as a mechanic back than while watching you build all of your bikes. I miss those days, bud. Time to build another bike Darren this time make it a real Bike that has real horse power capabilities with all the gooffy looking gadgets and all btw as long as it has brakes solid frame lights safety steering abilities and can meet all those basic requirements there should be no trouble being able to register the vehicle ..I hope you do this brother. btw Every time I see those tea cup lids bobble up and down from the exhaust it just puts a smile on my face. I tell ya Darren you truly do have a creative mind and those creative juices that day were flowing and flowing well, that's for sure when you decided to use them tea cups to finish off that exhaust.
Wow, I'm lost for words. This is a Marvellous Piece Of Engineering Art. The way you engineered 2 power units coupling with clutch & belt. & structure with the set of kitchen cutleries!
I vividly remember that bike build. I was new to your channel then, strongly reommanded by my younger brother, a VW nut. I could'nt believe my eyes. And I still don't just looking at it. A lot happened in my life since, some good, a lot bad, but I'm always looking for your Sunday morning posts to bring some light in my life ! My late wife always looked over my shoulder, when I laughed out loud when you shouted you unique **Ha ! ** when succeeding to first start any of your new project ! Her eyes looking at the ceiling 🙄 "Ooh, you're watching your crazy friend again !" Yep ! 🤗
