My tip is to write a list of things you're considering and then write a letter explaining to an imaginary future employer why you'd be so good at each. A few might end up being longer and more detailed than the others 🙂 So then you can narrow it down to those. Good luck 🌸🙂

As an INTP, I would like to work as a bed tester. That is, I get a bed for a week, spend time sleeping on it, and fill out a survey. Most of the time, when I'm working, I'm asleep. The rest of the time, I do whatever on the Internet. However, such jobs are few are far between. In real life, I work as a data analyst. Here, in Ukraine, people see success very differently and, for example, one of the girls that I know who majored in IR has moved to Poland and then to Germany to study translation after that. She has earned enough money to start her online business. She got a really nice linguistic practice while studying IR but that's it. Other girl has moved to Germany to teach at the local university. The majority of my fellow students are tutoring English or German, but that's because they weren't actually interested in pursuing a diplomatic career. A lot of people that used to teach at my department are very young and already successfully engaged in the local politics which is nice, that's what they wanted. IR can be beneficial for you if you love foreign languages and/or politics. But the diploma is just the first step, you gotta think of the next moves, as with anything else.

@kylepickus5712
@kylepickus5712 3 года назад
@@audreylee1699 depends on what you’re trying to do with the degree, and what subfield of anthropology you’re planning on entering. If you’re trying to get into Social Work, I’d say you’re just as well off taking either. If you are trying to get into politics or business/marketing, I would recommend sticking with international relations. I’m currently in cultural anthropology, which is the studying of different cultures around the world, and I’m planning on entering academia to write ethnographies for academic journals. However other fields like Forensic Anthropology would be good if your trying to get into forensics or autopsy work. Biological anthropology is good if your trying to become an evolutionary scientist. And archeology is another sub-field of anthropology which is a normal path forward for Anthro majors. As an undergrad, I’d say that you may be able to get more job offering solely from a degree in International Relations, though if you were to go to Grad school, a masters in anthropology would take you even further than a masters in International Relations. A bachelors in really any sub field of anthropology would open the door to getting a masters in other anthropological sub-fields as well (which is very diverse in an of itself). They are both very similar, though Anthropology is more abstract about applying knowledge from other subjects and analyzing how you personally relate to a different culture’s practices, while International relations often shares more similarities with a political science class. Best case scenario is that you get a double major or a minor, as knowledge you learn in one class may be directly applicable to the other.

As an INTP lawyer, I think our P actually helps us rather than hinders us in that profession (especially in litigation), because in complicated cases there's a need for improvisation, adaptation and out-of-the-box thinking, the more you try to stick to a plan the more frustrated you're gonna be when things don't work out in the way you hoped, which will be a common occurrence throughout your career no matter how good you are.

The main difference I've noticed between J and P is that the Js think less is better (simpler, narrow the issues, less to worry about, etc) whereas Ps think more is better (more stuff, more alternatives, more ideas, more feelings, more options). I've noticed this particularly with complaints and problems (which we all have). P types want to verbalise their complaints and talk about them a lot. It's like by expanding them, they're diffusing the intensity or spreading them thinner. But to a J type, complaining about a problem makes the problem bigger (a bit like scratching at a sore), and they would prefer to shut up or not think about a problem as a way of reducing its bigness. At their most extreme, J types go into denial whereas P types ramble on insanely.
@umyes1585

WOW. LOL. You explaines it almost accurate though . But I do thinked like that sometimes, like 'Why would you shut up and be quiet instead of finding a solutions to the problem?' even if it cause us a fight, but still, at least we could find why this things or that happened. If we keep holding it on... Sometimes, we won't find a solutions for it. And could've lead to a lot of misunderstandings...

My thought process is exactly what you said when I’m studying, I’m not gna leave a topic until I throughly understand the concepts and just whole dynamic of why it happens/works instead of just results, that’s the way I feel I can truly retain the knowledge beyond just exams on the following day but for anytime I’ll need it whether that be 1 week, 3 months or even 2 years later, why bother leaving looseholes in my knowledge if it just means I need to waste time revising again later, I’d rather just to something 100% the first time, I’m actually studying Mathematics with Economics too like you guessed

I am an ISTJ teacher. I was offered a full ride by a college if I chose a math major because I was gifted in it, but I personally didn’t believe I would find a fulfilling career in it. I have always loved learning and wanted to teach since I was little. It’s my way of getting to go to school forever. I do specifically love teaching math, especially seeing things come together for the students.

INFP here wanted to be a biologist (or maybe sociologist) tried Biotechnology (seemed close enough to biology) but hated it, too much chemistry tried Animation but found out I was not as creative as I thought, also life sadly got in the way tried Computer Science and so far I'm loving it (perhaps it's because my Te got a bit of development) just shows how life can turn around, and for those still looking don't give up! You'll find the thing that resonates with you! (even if it doesn't become your job)

This was quite good and personally encouraging. As an INTJ, since 2015 I have been thinking about starting my own business - a management consulting firm. You just said owning a business or consulting is typical work for an INTJ to do. I will take that as another sign that sometime in the not to distant future I should go ahead and start up this business. Also, your thoughts on E vs I resonated with me. I have done business development and marketing work and as an introvert I tend to have an easier time writing product description manuals or FAQs and sending emails regarding the products versus doing highly verbal actions like cold calling. I do them both fine, I just find the written work easier to do and I like thinking about what I am going to communicate instead of communicating on the fly. Great job FJ! Thanks!

INFJ here. One more thing on choosing a career....Never make life decisions based upon pressure or tendency to want to please others. I chose my first career because of pressure from family, but realized 2 years in that it was the biggest mistake of my life. After realizing I was miserable, I left my white collar career despite the negative feedback from those around me. They told me I was a failure for throwing away a career most dream about. But that career was draining my soul and left me feeling dead inside. I left that career to do what I love, and I feel alive again for the first time in 6 years. This is your reminder to DO YOU regardless of whats good for your neighbor. You only get one life. Don't feel pressured to please others. At the end of the day, you're always left with yourself, so you might as well be happy. ✌

The problem with that is society currently doesn't support raising children properly. Housespouseing leaves you potentially vuleranable if your spouse dies/gets sick or the relationship ends. Have you considered being a nanny? A good training programme gives you paperwork for your resume, a career that can give you free world travel, and if you do become a housespouse you have career experience.

@carissahill3414
@carissahill3414 2 года назад
I wanted to be a teacher too from the time I started school until I was one. Reality check on teaching physics though is that not many people actually want to learn Physics that you have to teach which can really drain you especially when you realize that Universities are businesses that they just want you to pass the students so they can get money. Then there is the whole publish or perish mindset some places may have, but you can get hired by a school that doesnt require it. Lots to learn about the reality of the situation. I could go on and on. Then there is the gruelling leveling up from Adjunct professor to Tenure. Things may have changed as all this was before STEM. Certainly the level of people telling a woman "You can't do Physics pick another Library science topic" and having o tell them "No" has changed. I had to deal with telling them "No I am researching physics!" in the second grade all the way up to my last library science class in college. Crazy. No matter what though, you will always have a job somewhere with something if you do physics. So Go for it! IT IS AMAZING and So FUN!

I'm an infp and yeah,,,I'm probably going to be an artist. Stereotypical, but as a spontaneous person with ADHD it's much easier to remember art techniques than endless information about things like history or government. My brain was certainly not built for memorization, that's for sure. Kinda sucks, cause that's what a majority of the school system tests you on. Anyways, my intj mom was also an artist, but she didn't make it a career, it was more just as a hobby where I would constantly go to her asking her to draw me stuff. I can't go to her anymore cause she's ⚰️, so instead I've taken up art and am drawing everything for myself. But I should really practice realism and other mediums....
