The lip on the bottom of the footpad isn't to stop rocks and dirt spraying onto the top of the footpad. It's to stop rocks and dirt from getting stuck under the footpad.

Love those rails. There is so many mods on the XR , rails and foot pads , bumpers and so one. The GT kinda cuts into the aftermarket a little. Imagine with the mods of the XR such as range increases battery packs , think about the GT double range. I imagine the Pint X and the GT mods with take off soon enough. Hope your family is well and friends circle are also well. I can’t wait for this next race.

Hi Scott, This footpad is perfect for winter riding on roads, its one step closer to full protection against elements, as in winter theres a lot of road salt and this will prevent it from getting under the pad and onto the metals making the board so much easier to clean
@ScotMendenhall

I took one of those Non Slip Traction Mats for paddle boards or deck flooring, etc.. Carefully cut it to shape. After doing two layers, it's another world. For a less than $30 solution, I highly recommend it! And Yes, the foot fatigue is real. I just got my oneWheel and after a couple days, I can feel it. I also realized I was using my angles a lot to gain or recover balance a lot. I think it's important to remember to engage your upper body when possible. Great video man. Love your energy. Cheers!

I scrolled through the comments and was surprised to hear that you haven't "badgered" (weather-proofed) your board, considering you ride through wet and snow (which eventually also becomes wet). I've seen a lot of complaints (especially with the XR) about the internal boards getting compromised from the water. Interesting to see you prefer the C&R Air Pad over the TFL Kush. I have the Kush Hi Nug on my Pint and the Kush Wide on my XR. I'm a big fan, and those had gone a long way to helping me combat foot fatigue. Perhaps when C&R comes up with one for the GT I'll pull the trigger for that when it comes out. I definitely like the "debris rail" that will help keep things a little cleaner. It's a nice design element on their part.
@ScotMendenhall
@ScotMendenhall 2 года назад
I have the Nug on the Pint and not the XR so I couldn't say what the differences are. 5 years going without water proofing my board and ok. Lets hope it stays that way.,

Love it Scot! MN represent!!! Nw metro here. Keep up the videos! You inspired me to buy PintX, and GT after having never ridden a OW. Loving my PintX. Curious when you ride in snow do you ever keep fender on?? Is the snow buildup a big deal or not? Any other winter tips?? I see lots of ppl freak out about any moisture or snow, I’ve just made sure it’s dry and in warm garage after riding before I charge and I’ve had zero issues. Ever had a moisture related issue??
@ScotMendenhall
@ScotMendenhall 2 года назад
One great thing to do with the OW in winter is to get a treaded tire on it. We are dropping a video this Sunday about the differences between the two. Snow build up isn't a big deal. Better to have fender on then to have all that snow build up on your foot pad. I have shot a few videos in the snow and share a lot about hot to ride and what to do for Ow haver ride.

Hey Scott, I love all your content brother, question for you: How did you tilt board with the wtf rails?
@EugeneMaynard
@EugeneMaynard 2 года назад
If the C&R AirPad is as comfortable as the Kush Nug Hi that I have on my Pint, I would consider buying it (definitely the black version) for my coming GT! I, like you, have loads of Vans shoes but their Old School models (on my size 46 feet) do not activate my Pint sensors too well which cut out frequently but as you say their skate models (my favourite being the Kyle Walker) work flawlessly as do their MTE-3 winter shoes. I am also about to change my tyre to my C&R treaded tyre that I ordered for last winter here in Sweden but unfortunately it did not get delivered until April when the snow had already completely gone! 😂🙏🏾
@SeanPaulNotTheSinger
@SeanPaulNotTheSinger 2 года назад
sensor pad issues are common on the smaller Pint (and Pint X). Some people have had great success in solving this by placing felt dots or velcro strips on the pads. Most people barely register them when standing on them, but they help concentrate the pressure on the pads.

Did you ever do some distance rides with it I have a cobra or viper rear concave and around 40-50 miles my foot would just start hurting like it was getting stretched out? I went back to my surestance pro a lot less concave less foot fatigue at longer distances. Love the concave to carve though.

Hey Scott, found your channel about two months ago when I was "researching" for a Onewheel. I really enjoy your content, your messages, etc. Thanks for what you bring. I am new to the sport (have admired from afar for a while), I just got my XR about two weeks ago (got the clearance price :) ). I am experiencing foot fatigue. I have the stock footpads on the one wheel (ordered all of other accessories, Fender, Rails, Guards, etc. I am thinking about the Surestance footpads from Future Motion, should I be considering the KUSH or the C&R rails over the Surestance, if so, why? thanks for your content!

Those footpads that are softer are great they do take some of the vibrations out but really your feet will get use to riding. It just takes a couple of weeks. Also make sure you curve while riding that will make sure you are keeping the blood flowing to your feet

Vans make some pretty cool winter shoes, like the MTE. Insulated and waterproof with a cushy insole, and a lot cooler than Uggs lol. This will be my first winter with my board. Kinda scared of taking it out in wet/snowy stuff in Denver without badgering it and since it's a newer 4212 board. My friend had to commute in the winter for a while with hers and did fine but she's got a 4209.

Can I ask your opinion. If you were a new rider, never been a skater, or boarder, what would you get? Im for sure getting one, but not sure what will work best for me and the area im at. I want to go in the woods, hills and around town. The distance of the GT would fit better since everything is so spread out where I live. But not sure. Thanks

Scot, I’m curious - you said in a video that there is a technique to pushing thru pushback. Would you share that technique? I hear the motor on the XR and the Pint are the same, so TECHNICALLY, the pint should be able to reach the same speed as an XR.
@Rocksaplenty
@Rocksaplenty 2 года назад
Actually no; two reasons. Winding of an electrical motor determines how torquey or how high speed it is, but additionally, the diameter of the tire would also need to be equal. The limiting factor is total output or RPM, could be either one.
@ScotMendenhall
@ScotMendenhall 2 года назад
We have decided to not share that on a video for the fear of stories of people getting hurt.
