I think if you're asking for old characters to come back in Strive because of how they played in earlier iterations instead of just how cool they look aesthetically, you're gonna be disappointed

Honestly I'm in a camp that seems to not be where a lot of people are(at least from what i've seen on the internet and comments) But I'm honestly more interested in seeing a character who's never been playable be in the game rather than returning one, or moreso a brand new character. Asuka is someone I absolutely want to see a moveset for because a mage sounds pretty cool to have, could be like the velvet room girls in persona arena. And like you mentioned in the video I'd also love to see a guest character, but as far as who? Honestly maybe Es from CF, she sorta fits a simple and easy to play chararacter and she's fairly popular? I think??? but as it stands, new characters are sorta where my interests are at, since I love the newer characters strive introduced, nago, gio, goldlewis and chaos are all characters I really enjoy, whether that's cause of gameplay or design or personality. I'd love to see more new stuff that hasn't been in the series before, and I pray Asuka makes this pass cause jesus has that character been long overdue
To be fair, Woolie's in the same boat. He's always for down pushing new characters that can become new fan favorites. Look at 3rd Strike. And yeah, I'd be down for Asuka, Dellilah, Gabriel, etc.
I know sin is very likely, but I just wanna play him. Other than him, I would like Johnny, and Asuka, I would love Dante from DMC as a guest character, but I know its highly unlikely :(
Personally, I haven't been a GG fan for long but I'd have to choose Venom, Answer and Slayer. At first I wanted Johnny but I can't get off my head the idea that he looks like what neckbeards think they look like. As for guest characters, I'd like Dante or (in an unrealistic collaboration) a crossover with Skullgirls since I love that game, specifically (in an ever more unrealistic outcome), Big Band. And/or (in an impossible collaboration that would never happen and I don't know if it could even work), Guts from Berserk.

I just want Roboky man, the double meter management alongside his very simple and provocative way his meters interact with his normals and specials was very fun to learn and made you make decision on the fly simply by the fact of calculating how much heat you are gonna produce or how much meter you got left to dump in your specials. We also need proper comedic relief character, HC isnt that comedic as he is just wacko.
Before I see your list, I wanna put my list up here: A Strive-original character, Jam, Dizzy, and Elphelt. If there are lore reasons I don’t know about for why Dizzy wouldn’t be fighting, I would be perfectly happy with Johnny in her place, but he’s not in my top 4.
Judging from your introduction, you probably DEFINITELY want slayer. I’m not too familiar with Xrd, but from what I’ve seen Kum is probably coming too. Jam and ABA are my final 2 guesses.
I really, really want Dante from DMC in Guilty Gear. I think his flashy and over the top personality would fit really well and massive series of weapons and techniques would make for a terrific fighting game character.
Asuka, Delilah, and, although I can not see it happening: Ariel. That's who I voted for. I also thought S1 was, meh, especially since I wanted to play Baiken but then they changed her in a way I didn't like. As for who I *think* it's going to be: Sin, Delilah, Slayer, Dizzy? I know that Bridget won the last pop contest in japan, and we did get Testament back, but idk, Baiken, Johnny, and Dizzy are the three most popular characters everywhere outside of Japan, and still *in* the top 5 for Japan (they like Bridget and Ram more)
Now a days, the clone characters are usually different enough to give players new experiences. 6:12 I respect all of the honorable mentions and the list proper (and would be happy if any were on season pass 2) but for this: Them's fighting words.
All i want is Venom, He's been my favorite character since i was introduced to the series. I'd love to see em with some new moves or fight reminiscent but not the same to his old style
I just need Sin, who already has a I high chance since he's technically already in the game. And A.B.A because she's cool. Also Asuka he desperately needs to be playable.
I feel that a KOF character would be the easiest to integrate into guilty gear as they both have 5 main attacks, with guilty gear having P,K,S,HS,D, and KOF having light and heavy punches and kicks/ABCD, with the blowback/C+D as dust. And all that would have to be added to the character is a couple new attacks or switching some around for the character to have a 2D (I’ve put too much thought into this)
Totally on board with you with Johnny. Dude would probably look so sick in GGST's style. Sin is pretty much all but confirmed. The second story DLC gave his model way too much detail to not be added. Which I'm also cool with, Sin was an interesting character in Xrd I'd love to see Dizzy. Just complete the family lol Ragna, Hakumen, or Naoto would be SICK for guest spots. Though if Slayer is in, then Naoto would be out. Can't have two punchy 1-frame linking characters, right?
Johnny was one of the few characters i was looking at playing in Xrd when i got around into it. He has vergil status, ultrakill status, and pootis status all in one. Not to mention that my favorite kinds of characters are the ultimate glass cannon style/technical characters so his announcement would make me change mains a second time.
Ragna is cool and I want him to cross over to strive too BUT...Have you ever tried hazama since from what you said he fits your description almost to a tea apart from the chains.
I knew you'd call for Johnny and Slayer. Jam was a surprise, but I would like to see her too but her XX version. Xrd version felt too dumbed down even with their attempt to compensate by making all 3 of her kicks able to cancel into each other. That being said, all I ask is for my grandpa Kliff to get another chance. My boy has been canonically dead after the first game and XX was his last appearance. I also really want to see a small story with Testament and Kliff having a father-son bonding moment now that he's drastically changed from the depressed loaner to an outgoing Bri'ish lad. I also honestly would love to see ArcSys's interpretation of Valentine. Yes the VERY FIRST Valentine that appeared in GG2 (it wasn;t a fighting game hence why it's almost never mentioned).
it's actually impossible for links in STRIVE to be any harder than 6 frames because there's a 5-frame input buffer, meaning any 1 frame link there is will actually be 6 frames because pressing up to 5 frames earlier will still result in a link
Personally, I really want Asuka (I love the mage aesthetic), Delilah (the extra story really sold me on her character), and a guest character (I'd want Kokonoe from BlazBlue tbh)
I don't know if season 2 will still cost the same but..... I also don't think that 4 characters are all we get, since we will get more story and crossplay as well as stages

@@IppoX90 I have a hard time learning attack patterns for all the characters, so I can block everything, while fighting them. So I'd like if ARCsys concentrated more on story and stages and less on characters (maybe like in season 2, because there is 1 character less)
I want Jam, Bridget, Johnny and Asuka. If I had to choose a Guest character I would choose Terumi from blazblue for selfish reason, but Ragna would make WAY more sense.
Honestly Ragna would be awesome to see; a true GGxBB crossover is long overdue and considering the ending of Central Fiction, it could actually work in Strive's story as "he got warped into that world lol"
It actually makes even more sense. Both Slayer and Nago hint that ALL vampires came from one place and are actually alien to GG world. Rachel can canonically create bridges between dimendions and Ragna is a lesser vampire. It all makes sense
Vash the Stampede from Trigun should be the guest character they put in the game. He fits the esthetic perfectly and he'd be such an iconic addition. Not to mention Trigun is being remade in 2023. I'll die on this hill. Give me Vash the Stampede.
Oh my goodness. He was a Pyro main in TF2. We need to get him. For my wishlist. Venom Bridget Slayer Guest Character. Okay, hear me out. I would love to get Naruto. Is that unrealistic? Sure. But, I just would love to see how his installs would work. Also, I'm being selfish.
My picks: - Johnny. I don't play him but he's a very popular character and Guilty Gear just ain't the same without him - A.B.A. Dude have you seen how much damage she can pump out. Imagine that but with Strive's damage values. She'd be insane. I also just think she's a really cool design and it's been too long since she was in a game - Raven. I know people hate this dude, but I don't care he's so cool. The divebomb and the weird noodle arms and that super where he just stabs you a million times. It's so satisfying - Justice. I know, I know, she's canonically dead, but it could be a clone or something. I just think she looks cool as hell and this game needs to have a big shrieking robot thing with huge ass normals
The only character I want so much in Strive is Elphelt! She is just so cute! Love her aesthetic, following her it would be Jam, I wouldn't be dropping my main Jack-O for either of them but I'd definitely have Elphelt as my second main at least.
Really want Raven and Zappa back. Raven's oki and air dash is so fun to do in Xrd2. His character design is pretty sick, too. His stretchy arms as well I love 'em. And Zappa, his playstyle was just so unique to not bring back and I love the whole possessed back story and how each ghost tie into his fighting style. Would also love to see Kum and Inzuna come back as well. They have pretty cool character designs and would love to see how they would be updated to match the style of Strive.

i honestly wouldnt. i love sf and tekken but unlike those two chars guilty gear chars tend to be veeeeryy gimmicky. i personally dont think sf and or tekken chars would fit in the slightest.
In my case, I also want Slayer to be in the game, I am trying to learn him in plus R and I love him so much. The other four characters that I want to see return would be: Valentine, Sin, Jhonny and A.B.A
Excluding Raven and Answer, I don't really want character we had in Xrd as DLC in Strive. Slayer is a homie, Johnny is best Dad, Dizzy is adorable, but I'd love some less apprenticed characters get spotlight. Or at least spiritual successors. A.B.A, Zappa, Robo-Ky, Justice, Bridget, not Kliff lol, last time we saw them playable was... 10 years ago. I think it's time.
I started GGS about 2 months ago and it's the first fighting game I've gotten really into. The previous statement is largely irrelevant to what I'm going to say next, which is that the editing of these videos is impeccable. I hope this channel grows and brings more people to this astonishing game! Btw, I'm really shit so don't 1v1 me.

I'll have to go with Top 2 on this topic for two (unfortunate) reasons. First being Johnny's almost-done model in the game files. Second being Sin in tge story mode. Anyway, my personal Top 2 will be: 1) A.B.A, because I main her in +R and I will never stop, she's just so cool. Also Strive needs an ACTUAL risk/reward meter management character, not whatever the hell Nago is. 2) Daryl, because he might just be that setplay trickster game needs. OR A BB guest character. And, despite not being a fan of him, I would like to see Ragna in the game. Since he "vanished" from his own universe he should've ended up somewhere, like I-No in her arcade mode, right? This would be a bonding moment between the franchises and a possible GG vs BB game setup.
I just want Sin and a BLAZBLUE character. The BLAZBLUE character could be Ragna, Jubei or Jin. They are all fairly rushdown so yeah give us one or all of them
Asuka - Finally getting to play That Man would be hype and I'm interested what kinda playstyle he'd have Delilah - give her a new version of Bedman's moveset and we're golden Zappa - Would love for Arcsys to take another swing at his archetype because it's an unique one. Maybe instead of Raoh he could have multiple souls summoned and each one is attatched to one of his buttons? Vernon - make him go Full Metal Wolf, President of the USA fighting in a mini-mech with special forces as minion summons, a football special move and just goofy shit. Vash The Stampede from Trigun - I swear to god he's already a Guilty Gear character by another name. Give him a moveset where he uses his gun to create traps and indirectly immobilize the opponent, fitting his pacifistic, playful persona. Make his theme a redone version of the Trigun intro. Heck, give him the new design from the new season! (reboot? I dunno)

I know it’s against the ground rules you set up but if I had to select a character from ANY series I would maybe say Alucard(Hellsing). Dude’s a badass and if added with Slayer would make a cool ass Vampire update. Tho he might end up as a bit of a zoner for his guns
Man, what I really want is That Man/Asuka that takes cues from Nine from Blazblue. He has been important the whole series, but never playable. Also, we need true wizard in this series where magic is so explored. The other ones use a guitar and a gun. Besides him, 100% agree with you about Johnny, and it would be nice to have Sin back. Maybe make dizzy appear in some of his moves, so she isn't completely left out. As a guest, Ragna is not a bad idea at all, I guess
