My brother got me into this game a few months ago and just plain out asked me who I wanted to play on the character select screen, I picked happy chaos and he said "not him, anybody but" and thats how I started to main happy chaos
@@HazeEmry At the time I had seen no gameplay I knew the more recognizable characters like sol, ky and axl but I had never seen chaos before. Afterwards I watched his trailer and funny scenes from the story mode which solidified him as my main before I even started playing him.
As a Faust main I think I speak on behalf of my fellow doktors that it's not about winning, we just want to see how much chaos we can cause and it's incredibly fun
As a faust main i can say you left the most important part of the character out, we are a hivemind with no mind, we all fight with no idea of what we are going to do next but when put one faust main against another we will proceed to make a weird kinda dance that is completely incomprehensible to anyone else.
everytime I've faust v fausted one of two things happen we mash 6p on roundstart and keep laughing at the clash we agree to get as many items on the screen as possible.
May main here Anyway, do you guys think agressive panting or screaming is the more fun expression of terror? Screaming is the classic, and I do agree it has it's charms. Due to screaming bringing out the individual's voice much more, you really get that sense of uniqueness every time you hear it. It's like a classical symphony, and every scream you hear is like a new interpretation. On the other hand, I've really started to appreciate panting lately. It conveys this sense of being weak, like you don't even have the energy left to scream, so you let your breathing do all the work. It really says a lot about how terrified someone is when they focus more on getting away from you than on expressing said terror. So honestly, I can't decide which one I prefer. Oh sorry, we were talking about Strive mains, right? Yeah, I think the shoes are an important part of the outfit.
8:30 he doesn’t just say the names of his moves, he’ll just say random Japanese words during his rekka sometimes. He’ll just say “sushi” “sukiyaki” (another Japanese food) “banzai” Sometimes it makes more sense, and he’ll say “mune” and “ashimoto” which means chest and feet respectively, since that’s where he’s hitting. Still hilarious, and I love the victory line “go be a ninja”
Anji main here to say he's absolutely right. We're well aware we're playing a bad character, but it still works, and a core part of that is believing that you're better than anyone else at your level. You have to believe, or else you lose. The fuujin machine is powered by hype
Non-Anji main and I'm gonna salt and say that what he said about Anji main "advice" is also so true. If you ever dare to ask how to beat any of his moves/situations they basically just answer "it's fake git good" then refuse to elaborate.
Boutta start maining nago fr. I main Leo and when i was fighting my friend who is way better than me he said i should learn which of his moves are punishable on block. I didn't care and proceeded to win 4 out of 21 games.
Yeah. Its so scarely accurate. I look at the combos and shit and I think: Meehhh I dont need that, or what the fuck is that?? I won't take an actuall effort to.. learn what is.. plus on block, why should I??
I've said that multiple times as Faust and was serious about the question. "Plus on Block" is insanely rare on Faust and most of his moves are straight-up minus, so I never understood that term.
You have to remember the thing about us Potemkin mains, we all share the same brain cell. We've accepted that this one brain cell is the only one all of us will ever have and it will only ever tell us the answer to the only question we all have: Can I Buster this? and the answer is always yes
wait but then where does Snake Eyez get his mega brain from? It feels like he's the one outlier considering the gap between him and the second best Potemkin main is about as large as an entire Evo championship title.
As a Faust (and somehow almost always low-to-mid tier in every fighting game) main, it feels refreshing to know that people know how much effort we put in to be un unpredictable little gremlin. I live for those games where the opponents just have no idea to deal with the funny doctor man, so they get surgically sliced to ribbons by a character that almost looks like he doesn't know what he's doing himself.
I love how all of these descriptions are literally just the characters themselves: Sol just slaps shit until things die, Leo is literally Unga Bunga, and Faust is literally held together with string and prayers
A quick Bridget stereotype, since she's been out for a bit now: You're either transfem, think she's cute or want someone who looks like may but don't want to get screamed at for playing may
Having played Ram since Rev, I was happy she was high tier in this game. Then I remembered how much bitching came with that and I was no longer happy. If I'm gonna be a villain because I like Ram, I might as well play a damn good one. Also I'm fighting for my fucking life to beat these slanderous foot fetish accusations.
The Anji player experience, summarized by a Simpsons meme. “Anji is a Jack of all trades, allowing him to quickly adapt to many situations.” *Thats Good!* “Literally every other character in the game has better options for any situation.” *Thats bad* “His autoguard ability allows you to advance and apply pressure on your opponents while dodging attacks.” *Thats Good!* “Most of the time the enemy has already recovered by the time you’re close enough to attack.” *Thats bad* “His counter super is almost instant, making it a good option when at a disadvantage or in blockstun.” *Thats Good!* “You will almost never land it, and even if you do, there is a chance it will activate the ranged version, which is not as good.” *Thats bad* “Most of Anji’s toolkit revolves around rekka, but on launch he could not follow up any of his tools on whiff, meaning that half of his already limited moveset will be non-existent if the opponent simply presses up.” …………. “That is bad.”
"Finishing combo with a super into a wallbreak would definately kill" Foolish mistake, clearly you dont actually play Millia if you think anything like that would kill
I-No players force you to RPS in their (our 😉) favor. If you don't RPS you get opened up eventually, but if you do odds are you're not gonna enjoy the result. Single player gaming all day baby.
There are two kinds of I-no players; Lab monsters with knowledge of every single little thing there is, or depressed mains tryna figure out how in the hell they gunna deal with Sol (and generally play neutral while keeping gorillas at bay and punishing their random ass dps). Like don't get me wrong, the shit I get with her if I block a dp is disgusting, so why is the Leo doing a fucking dp after his + frames/cancel window ends? Do you have a death wish of somethi- oh wait they do.
@@senritsujumpsuit6021 Yes... So would any XX character? What's the point lol? The game's power level is higher, I literally cannot imagine trying to deal with Zappa, XX Testament, XX Baiken, XX Jam, XX Dizzy or hell, even a "lower" tier like ABA or Kliff in Strive
As a Millia player I solemnly swore to dedicate my life to the mix, the whole mix and nothing but the mix. It doesn't count as a win if the H-disk is not out!
As a Nagoriyuki main, you hit the nail on the head. I just do things, and they just work, and I like that. I don't necessarily know how or why it works, and I frankly just don't care enough to try and do research on stuff I'm actually "supposed" to do, because thinking is hard.
sol bingusman ky whitebread totsugeki our lad axl crips zanuf grapple man doktor milli rage comic eddie :) wam wethal gorilla nagogogogogo dog :) baiken plz notice me no i for me plz coffin man jack-o's soahc buy ken themstament
As a Millia main, you don't actually want to base your spring farm around turnips. They are pretty low cost, but they have much worse profit margin compared to other plants. At the start of your farm, you actually want either potato or green bean for best profit.
As a Leo main, the gambling part is true, but its more of the testosterone he makes you let out. When you play him the goal is to assert dominance, become the alpha and earn the right to mate. Makes you feel like a spartan from 300.
As a Faust main, you forgot one crucial detail; Most player would say we are on massive copium support, when in reality, us losing so many match-up so hard our life force get sapped away and we are all on life support to not just instantly die on the spot when our big brain combo does as much, if not less than most characters bread and butter combo
The Goldlewis section made me laugh. I'm a Goldlewis main who actually believed the propaganda at first but as I got better I was like wait a fucking second...
I used to be a May main, but I switched to Faust to repent for my sins. Jokes aside Faust just feels amazing to play with for me and I love how he has so much random tech. I don't care that he's not that good in this game I just want to have fun and do the best I can do with this character, talking with people who also play Faust is fun as well.
My brother, you are a traitor to the cause… You shall be punished for your treason. Jokes aside, it does get pretty stale playing as May. But I’ve been playing her for too long and I’m just too comfortable to leave
@@Papabandana goddamn, king, nice! I also love Faust, although I’ve only played every character very shallowly. Haven’t found the time yet to sink more than an hour into any character. Any advice on learning Faust?
@@Lars_Hermsen utilising items is probably the most important thing to learn right off the bat as you’re gonna be abusing them no matter what level you happen to be at right now
"You're either an asshole or a cow, pick your poison" Alternatively, you're a shitposter who's favorite BlazBlue character is Yuki Terumi or Hazama, and your favorite Persona 4 Arena character is Adachi. "Sarcastic chaotic villain" is your spirit animal.
@@MysticPyroFreak I’d say so, but zato is really nice with his story, I’d argue he’s more tragic than Faust Let’s just all agree that as a character may is hilariously bad, writing wise I mean
@@p.k6472 One thing I'll give Zato's arc credit for is that he more or less is back where he started being someone's underling. And I find that irony of him going through everything he went through, only to realize "You know what? Being someone's underling is fine", hilarious. I mean, yeah. He's fine with it only because it's Millia, but still. Aside from that, I personally felt Zato worked better as a posthumous character and that Eddie should have remained the one in control. To each their own, tho!
As a Ram player I have to say, the reasons I play Ram is: 1- She’s cute 2- She’s cool 3- Big Sword no. 1 4- Big Sword no. 2 5- She’s fun af to play 6- Hamburger
As a certified player of most of the DK crew I can confirm that yeah we'll use our worst option every time because it's funny when it works. I want them to add Johnny to strive so I can stray away from the gorilla gang. Cause being a good Johnny (even though he was definitely the best character in xrd) does actually take character knowledge, he's not an easy character to pick up but he is strong when he's learned well and I miss that.
Gonna be honest, I'm usually super iffy on these stereotype videos. A lot of them just devolve into the creator being really toxic over the charatcers they don't like. This video genuinely has heart to it and feels more like a fine roast rather than burnt charcoal black. Also i'd like to give a shoutout to the massive Bi/Pan awakening Testament caused in Strive.
"What kind of person would make their fellow humans deal with disjointed hitboxes" Coming from a Giovanna player and her magic feet that hits you with their aura
I wasn't too sure about what you were saying for Anji, but the "telling your opponent how to punish Anji and immediately counterplaying it" bit is the most spot on thing ever. The biggest Anji meme is letting everyone believe he's gorilla.
Dirty Axl main here is concerned how you knew about my diet and my maiden situation... Fun fact, I picked up Axl specifically to annoy my friend, and the rest is history. I concur that confrontation is scary.
fellow Axl player here, equally called out by the laundry chair and diet thing. however, I managed to find a maiden of my own! like the video said, Axl mains are usually pretty cool. you'll find her/him eventually!
Goldlewis main here, and I thoroughly believe the tendency to downplay Goldlewis is because three of his hardest Matchups, those being Gio, Chaos and Sol, Are INCREDIBLY common characters online
I feel like there is a separate type of Happy Chaos main that play him because of his character in the story. I picked him up day 1 as a secondary because he's just such a goofy and lovable guy
bridget main stereotypes: you're trans and have never touched a fighting game in your life, have no clue what anything means and are just here to support the cute yo-yo girl.
Meanwhile me: femboy who always loved Guilty Gear, got excited when Bridget was announced, got disappointed when she was no longer a femboy, still play her because she cute.
Sol: SLASHSLASHSLASHSLASH- Ky: STUNEDGEFONDUARCSTUNEDEG- May: TOTSUGEKITOTSUGEKITOT- Chipp: WOAHSPEEDBETABLADEGAMMA-oh I died… Milla: THEFLOORISLAVAANDIAMQUEEN Potemkin: Excuse me sir/ma’am I would like to give you a hug if you don’t mind just let me get close thank you. Axl: SOCIALDISTANCINGSOCIALDISTANCING- Leo: *actual gorilla sounds* Ramlethal: Gun, and if that don’t work, use more dp. Faust: Many consider him low tier but you don’t care and I respect that, also square one. Nagoriyuki: Holy fuck how the hell did you kill that fast?! Anji: FUJINFUJINFUJIN- Zato: Actually no joke they scary. Giovanni: idk, I guess you use the cross up a lot? I-no: you mix people more than a mixer. Goldlewis: you looked at his character guide and probably thought he’s op. Jack-o: You crouch at any opportunity, you firmly believe that if you have no idea what you’re doing, your opponent won’t. Happy chaos: either you’re a ballsy chaos who gets in there, or you’re one of those who stays far away and spam the steady aim move. Baiken: You spam gun whenever the opponent does anything, and you like huge melons, I don’t blame you tbh. Testament: honestly I have nothing for them.
Us I-No players wouldnt mix so hard if it wasnt our only option Millia players mix for shits and giggles, we mix because we lose if we dont We are not the same
Got Strive recently just because I liked all the memes around Chaos and only really played Tekken and my last anime fighter was Tenkaichi Budokai, so, I was a little confused going from Sol in the dojo having HS to only having GUN. Needless to say I only beat like 2 of the enemies in arcade and got 14 losses, but I'm having a blast.
Ok I had to laugh at the Faust section. I'm a believer hook line, and golfclub. only thing it's missing is no mention of the people who play strictly for TEH FUNNIEZ
I've talked to NotPichu, one of the best Jack'O's in the world, and almost word for word they were like that, just a depressed guy trying his best to speed through inputs until he gets slapped by Hotashi
As a Zato main, I was confused why people always run away from me. Now I know. Also explains why I was surprised when you claimed Faust is the worst character.
I once finished a game by doing beyblade 3 times. They blocked the first two, but they didnt expect the third. So yes, the Nago stereotype is correct as far as I am concerned
"Oi, did you see that command grab?? I love command grabs, they're my FAVOURITE!!" ..."Oi, did you get the broom closet ending?? The broom closet ending was my FAVOURITE!!" If this was an intentional reference, I hereby offer you oral.
as a ky player i really love stagger pressure and stun dipper RC but i also enjoy working on a really clean defense. Idk i just think good defense is sick af
As a nago main, I was watching that nago gameplay and kept thinking "Kamuriyuki after the second hit of far slash, then fukyo backwards, DO IT ITLL WORK", so yes, we definitely like making up ways to mix people up and put them back under pressure. It's why I still love playing Nago.
I just got into strive and I play chaos because of his personality and the fact that his play style is so unique and fun (also I’m scared of people and frame one full screen panic damage is great for my level) and it’s so weird that this goofy theatre god has such a toxic main base. When he’s god tier for memey bullshit how do you sweat swamp funny theatre homie
All the characters I’ve considered and why Faust: gambling. Item toss is dope Giovanna: aww doggo Jacko: I like pumpkins Baiken: that grapple looks dope
Edit: After watching Baccpack explain his thoughts on Goldlewis matchups, I can see where people get the idea that Goldlewis players are downplayers. But I think that's just his thing. I think you mixed up Goldlewis with jack-o tbh, any Goldlewis main (and me) I talked to over the months said that he's a good character who doesn't require any particular buffs. It's usually the people whod on't play Goldlewis beyond the firsat 20 minutes when he came out that will tell you that the character sucks. Meanwhile I go to any major Jack-O players stream and they will tell me about how Jack-O can't win majors, they have to work so hard, the character doesn't function, and why can't their character be more like Ram and Zato?
Nah he's correct. Goldlewis players love to downplay goldlewis. While jack o players think they are playing a decent character only to realize that she's the worst character in the game. No s(redacted) she can't win majors. She's worse than faust. Her gameplan is to get a minion setup into a combo but her crossup after the sweep is countered by dp and mashing (also if its blocked it leaves her negative on block and she gets comboed). Even sol's 5k hits her. So her combos are actually impossible to pull off against even unskilled players. If a playstyle is getting countered by mashing then the character who relys on that playstyle is garbage. No wonder 99% of jack o players don't leave the lab. It's the only way to make her combos possible to pull off.
@@TheExiled112 I’m pretty sure it’s only people who don’t play jack o who think that she’s actually good. Anyone who plays her for longer than a week would know she’s not that good. Heartdamaged, ladewaybac, notpichu, eddventure all are aware of her flaws. Hell even carrot of wisdom dropped her because he wasn’t having fun.
@@coldbacon4869 wait so even notpichu knows about her flaws? I thought notpichu was egotistical because notpichu can corner someone and pressure them and get a win off baiting someone to move and wallsplat them. I used to main her. Until i played against a hard difficulty ai of giovanna (most people who play strive main giovanna) and found out how bad jack o is. I never even tried to go online with her because of how bad she is. So i immediately switched my main to sol. I don't mind having to use harder characters (unless their combos are carl clover from bbcf levels of impossible) but if they get screwed because they suck in the meta then im definitely not using them.
Actually, the matchup is 10-0 for BOTH OF US. Also, back in the old day, random stun modifier could just KILL CHIPP with ONE FUCKING 6P on CH (Stun means IK)
I was a Faust believer until I started playing Testament. Now I'm just depressed I spent so much time trying to make my boi work just for the rug to be swept out from under him by GENDER NEUTRAL. I'll still main him though. I can't give up on paper bag man!
I played Faust and I'm proud to say I held off f dropping Mai for Billy in kof this week, which would have been going from high tier to low (Billy is new but looks pretty rough). Maybe I've gotten over getting overly attached to characters based on non gameplay things... Faust just has such a cool EVERYTHING!
While I don’t play Strive specifically, I’ve dabbled in Xrd and *love* GG to death. Probably my favorite fighting game series ever. GG is what got me out of my small world of smash and into the FGC. That said, I have a couple mains or characters I’d like to explain. Faust: Your explanation was pretty much on the dot. Wouldn’t drop him for the world. Ever. I love ‘em so much, you have no idea. Like him, I also just wanna help everyone despite my mental state being awful. That and I like characters with weapons, but I only tend to go for two handed ones for style and style alone, sorry Ky, swords are boring. Potemkin: Oh yeah, baby. You know it. Out of the four main archetypes,(shoto, rushdown, zoner, grappler) grappler is by far my favorite. Am I a slut for command grabs? You bet you’re sweet fucking bippy I am. Mr. Squirrel was spot on. Pot is who I’d play for game purposes, play style and all that, while Faust is more of a heart character for me. Goldlewis: So hear me out. I’m a “heavy main” in smash, so that transfers over to traditional fighters and anime fighters the same. I like grapplers *and* big bodies. I like ‘em thicc, what can I say. That and Goldlewis vaguely resembles my main in smash, Dedede. That and it’s the closest thing to a hammer I’m getting in Strive so I’ll take what I can get. Since I don’t play Strive, the explanation in the video doesn’t technically add up, but I admit I’ve used the “I’m playing a low tier” card before in smash, so I suppose it counts. Testament: But I don’t play the game? How does this add up? It doesn’t. Gottem. But anyways, Testament is a lot of things. For one, I love the scythe. Big yes. I love the design. Bigger yes. Two big reasons though. The first is that he’s got the he/she shtick going on, which is also prevalent in their theme. To keep it simple, it’s just nice to have a character to relate to in that regard. Reason number two is actually funny. Testament is my horny character. There, I said it. I’m not even down bad anymore, I’m down despicable. ‘Nough said. *Anyways*, what he said in the video was true. Fighting game characters max to me at least, feel like an extension of ourselves onto the game. That’s why people love them, or that’s a least a part of the reason. I’m just happy that such an amazing game exists. Thanks for making this video, Squirrel. And thanks for reading my comment, stranger.
Bridget mains: You are a trans girl who bought the game because of bridget and will then drop her when realising she’s a midrange control character. (Edit: btw this is a self callout I still play bridget a good amount but I don’t think I’ll main her like I originally wanted to)
The reason I play ky is because he seems like the "sword in one hand, spell in the other" Architype. And I'm a big fan of that. Plus I'm pretty much brand new to fighting games, so he looks like a good all-rounder learning tool.
As someone who switched from testament to May because I was tired of getting "oooops'd" to death. This is completely true. I want everyone else to feel my pain
As someone who switched from Day 1 Chaos to Jack-O. I would say the feeling of control is easily the best feeling ever. I really like breaking my wrists when doing pressure and get pissed when pot PBs me mid pressure because I destroyed my hands so badly.
